|| You, Me and Penny Green ||

| Chapter Twelve |

"Penelope wasn't so bad on the plane ride here," Iris sighed softly to herself as she placed a sweet kiss to her daughters messed up curls. Pea snuggled further into her favorite plush blanket, suckling her thumb as she dreamt peacefully.

Edward revealed their trip to Dublin, Ireland just as they boarded the flight. It was an exotic place many people never thought to travel to, and the weather provided a nice overcast to shield them from the direct sunlight. It was a beautiful place with many sights to see. Iris was extremely excited, seeing as she never left Forks, Washington before now. She was glad this trip was for them to spend time together as a family, their little family.

"Well you did feed her majority of the time," Edward tutted as they walked out of Pea's bedroom. Iris's supplement to get her daughter to stop fussing around? Food, of course. After all it works for the ginger when she's having a meltdown moment, so why wouldn't it work for Penelope? Now the eleventh month old was finally put down to sleep seeing as it was almost the next morning.

Iris rolled her eyes as she tugged her hair into a ponytail, making her way into their own mater bedroom. They decided to rent an apartment rather than staying at a hotel since they wanted it to be homely. The rental was right off the streets of Dublin with a bright red door and a warm porchlight hanging overhead. Their bedroom screamed vintage with a touch of rustic here and there. Even the wrought iron headboard made Iris's heart swoon.

"So what's the plan for tomorrow – or today?" She corrected herself, realizing time went by faster than she thought. Edward sat on their bed, watching in amusement as she unpacked their bags and started stuffing the drawers with their clothes. Although it sounded weird, and he'd never find himself thinking this a year ago, but he could watch her fold clothes for hours on end and never get bored.

"Well I was thinking we could make breakfast here, have it on the terrace." He started thoughtfully and Iris stopped packing to give him her full attention. She set one of his shirts down and padded closer to him, standing in between his legs as he rested his palms on her hip instinctually. "Then maybe we could stop by Dublin castle, the National museum... the botanical gardens –"

"The botanical gardens, really?" Iris's face brightened immensely, her grin stretching wide on her supple cheeks. When Edward nodded, she squealed, her inner child coming out to play as she bounced into his arms. Edward embraced the affection he was getting as she peppered kisses all over his face in gratitude. Her nose rubbed against his lightly in an eskimo.

"How did I get so lucky? Ireland, of all places. Eddie you didn't have to bring us here, I would've loved Port Angeles for a weekend just as much."

Edward lifted his hand to caress the side of her face, an endearing expression marring is gaze. "And it's that reason alone why I brought you here. I've said it once and I'll say it for however long you need to hear it. You deserve the world, and I plan on giving it to you."

Iris briefly glanced to her hands folded in their lap, a warmth she couldn't describe surrounding her. Yes, she was incredibly lucky, to be loving this man with such a big heart. She didn't know if she actually deserved it, but she wouldn't complain if the universe decided to be in her favor. There were only so many lucky pennies you could find in your life time. She'd rather count her blessings.

"Thank you, my love. For everything," She didn't even give him the time to respond as she secured her palm behind his neck and captured his lips with her own. Iris smirked in satisfaction when she felt Edward's chest rumble in pleasure, edging her confidence on to do more.

The ginger fully sat on his lap, setting her thighs on either side of him. Her fingers intertwined with his wavy tresses, causing sharp shocks of electricity to jolt through Edward spine. His hands instantly latched onto her back in a daze, pulling her impossibly closer to him. "We have... forty five minutes until Penelope wakes up for breakfast," Iris panted in between kisses.

Edward calmed down his movements, nodding his head dejectedly. "Alright, well I'll get the food ready and –"

"Wait, I didn't say we were done." Edward arched an eyebrow, his eyes darkening at the determined glint in his wife's gaze.

Without a word, Iris pushed down on his chest, causing him to slowly lay down on the mattress. She lazily dragged her finger down the length of his body, biting her lip in anticipation when she stopped at the top of his jeans. Popping the top button open, she flick her gaze towards her lover as she slide down. Edward gulped the thump in his throat, a low growl wanting to so desperately to surface. "I haven't gotten the chance to thank you, yet."

"Who likes pancakes?" Iris sung as she flipped the batter on the pan. The way Penelope tried to mimic her warmed her heart at how cute it sounded. Penelope sat in her counter seat, slapping her hands on the tiny table as pieces of pancake scattered all over it.

Edward walked in not a moment too soon with a new set of clothes on and blissful expression on his face. Iris eyed him teasingly, faking innocent when he met her gaze. She whistled lowly, scooping the finished pancake onto her plate. The ginger gladly excepted the kiss he gave her before he started making her coffee how she liked it.

They were like a well oiled machine, they knew each other like the back of their hand. If anyone walked in and watched their interactions, it would appear like they were rehearsing for a television series. However, none of this was rehearsed and never had it been more natural. Edward and Iris just fit perfectly that way.

Iris was already in her outfit for the day. A dark blue sundress that stopped midthigh with a sweetheart neckline and bows as straps. Her vibrant red locks hung naturally down her back, but she tied half of it away from her face to not disturb her. Also, her inner fashionista couldn't resist wearing a pair of strappy pumps with a certain red bottom. Courtesy of Alice's bridal shower gift.

Iris moaned in bliss as she tasted her pancakes, wiggling her eyebrows to taught her husband. "Hey, Eddie. You see what Pea's doing? Oh, that's right, she's actually eating my food."

Edward laughed humorlessly, throwing a slice of apple at her childishly. Iris supernatural reflexes caught it easily and she smirked as she took a bite of the slice.

"You're funny now, but when she has friend's over what do you think she'll want? Her mother's tofu dogs, or all you can eat pizza?" Iris glared at him, her lower lip pouting slightly as Edward flexed his muscles smugly. "That's right, cool dad for the win."

Iris waved her fork around at him accusingly, "Yeah, cool dads don't do that – whatever it is you're doing with your body." Penelope abruptly started chuckling uncontrollably at Edward as he made a funny face while flexing, causing Iris to laugh with her – all notions to finish her food gone out the window. "See, Penny agrees with mommy."

"Traitors, all of you. No loyalty what's so ever," He huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest. Iris and Penelope were still laughing till their stomachs hurt, and soon Edward couldn't fight the smile threatening to tug at his lips. He caved because he couldn't resist the Green charm for long.

Later the couple found themselves on a busy day. All the sights they wanted to see, the museum, castle and botanical gardens were all checked off the list. Iris was in heaven once she walked into the garden, tapping into her supernatural talents to brighten and help the flora and fauna around her flourish. She was getting the hang of how her gift worked as she could decipher what exactly the plants were saying to her in low whispers now. It became easier to distinguish the voices from her own thoughts and she loved every moment of it.

Now they were walking along the boardwalk on River Liffey. Penelope's head was drooping to one side in her stroller, as she fought off sleep like it was her greatest offender. The couple could last all day long, but they had to take their daughter into account, so they settled at a restaurant to grab some food for the little one. Edward had taken Penelope to change her diaper as Iris sat at their outside table.

She leaned back in her seat, sipping an Irish whiskey for the first time. She didn't think it was too bad, obviously the burn of alcohol wasn't there, but the twang was. It made enjoying the beverage so much better in her opinion. She took the toothpick out of her drink, taking the raspberry into her mouth just as she felt a presence approaching her.

"How's it going there?" Iris causally glanced up from her glass to a man leaning against her table. He was slim with a charming grin. He wore a top cap and had a ginger, finely trimmed beard. Yes, one could say he was handsome, but Iris wondered how he got the nerve to come speak to her.

Many people throughout the day have been blatantly checking Edward and herself out the whole day. They couldn't go anywhere without someone ogling them. However, it was sort of expected seeing as they were immortally flawless. Yet, that didn't mean Iris enjoyed it at all.

Iris sat up straighter in her seat, setting her crossed leg back down to the concrete. She smiled politely, deciding to be nice although she was suddenly feeling shy. She wasn't good with meeting new people. "Pretty good, not the best I've had, but tasty nonetheless."

The man seemed entranced by her melodic voice, his eyes widening slightly as she spoke to him. He briefly cleared his throat to compose himself, leaning further on the table to appear smooth and unbothered. Instead, he laughed lightly at what she said, even though she didn't really say anything funny.

"Name's Tom and you're a whiskey girl? Never would've thought," He chuckled, pushing his Irish accent as if to woo her. "Can I buy you another?"

Iris subtly glanced over her glass as she sipped, relief flooding her when she spotted Edward walking over with Penelope in tow. He didn't look very pleased to say the least. She smiled tightly towards Tom, placing her drink down as she leaned on her elbow.

"No, I think I've had my fair share of alcohol tonight. Listen, Tom. You seem like a really decent guy, but I'm going to save your life by telling you my husband is on his way over here and he doesn't look very happy. Best chance of you surviving is by finding another lucky lady to woo tonight, yes?" She muttered the words quickly and with as much sincerity as she could muster.

Tom quickly glanced over his shoulder and paled thereafter. Getting the point he sent Iris a half smile and scurried off, not even looking back. Edward pouted when he came to the table, pecking her lips before setting Pea down in her stroller.

"You didn't even give me a chance to play the jealous husband," He complained to which Iris rolled her eyes, taking another generous sip of her drink.

"I'd rather not end up on the news, thank you very much."

"At least you won't have to worry about the camera crew shooting at the wrong angle," Iris stuck her finger in her mouth, fake gagging at his attempt at a joke. Edward laughed at himself and her adorable reaction, pulling her in for another kiss for the hell of it. If this was marriage bliss, why would anyone want anything else in life?

Unedited.
