|| You, Me and Penny Green ||
| Chapter One |
"Emmett if you could just raise the bench higher so Colton doesn't hit his head on it would be great, thanks." Time was chugging by as Iris busied herself with the Swan's wedding preparations. The special day was, in fact, tomorrow and there was still so much to do. The ginger held her detailed clip board in hand as she walked around the clearing the ceremony was taking place. Her long hair was luckily plaited into a braid as she constantly whipped around from place to place.
"Darling, quite terrorizing the free laborers." Iris lightly rolled her eyes at Edward, hiding the smile that curved on her lips as he came up behind her to kiss her cheek. Whether she admitted it or not, she was a sucker for Edward Cullen and everyone knew it.
When the parade of immortals disappeared from sight to grab another round of decorations, Edward held her close. His breath tickled her neck as he placed sweet kisses there. Iris huffed, trying to concentrate on her to-do list before she had to move on to something else. Her work was never done and sadly, she didn't have time for Edward to ravish her.
"Not now, Eddie. I'm working," She whined, checking lavender flowers off the list. Edward groaned in her neck, nipping the spot as he pulled her back to his chest.
"Okay, so when does the boss get to play, hm?" She hid her grin, biting her lip. Iris swore her cheeks would be tomato red with blush if she could still do that. Her body had become even more aware of Edward's presence as of late. Whenever he was in her vicinity, her skin would glow to life all over. And although the idea sounded appealing, she simply had too much on her plate already.
Raising her right arm, she looked over her wrist watch and physically blanched. Cursing under her breath, she turned in his grasp and kissed his lips twice. "Sorry honey, I have to register for classes before I head to Donna's. You know the bachelorette is tonight, don't you have something with the boys?"
Edward rolled his eyes and followed after her as she trekked towards their home. "Yes, but I'd rather watch some movies with my wife than go hunting a bunch of bears." The ginger pouted at how adorable he looked. She wished she could have some down time, but she chose to take on this wedding so she had to finish it like a big girl. There was plenty of time later to cuddle up with Edward and watch a superhero film marathon.
Iris walked through their shared bedroom and threw off her blouse and shorts. She could practically feel Edward's eyes on her form as she quickly logged onto her computer. The monitor ticked until the screen lit up. Her typing echoed throughout the bedroom and as she waited for the page to load up, she went to the closet and rifled through the throng of dresses. Between the sparkly sequin dresses Rosalie got for to the tighter fitting faux snake skin, she was more than equipped for the party tonight.
She giggled as Edward's fingers skimmed her bare sides, but carried on and snatched her satin thigh length dress with spaghetti straps to wear. When she turned around, her husband apparently couldn't get enough. He cupped her neck and melded their lips together languidly. Iris sighed happily against him, yelping when he abruptly picked her up and wrapped her legs around his waist. "Eddie," She complained.
"You have thirty minutes," He mumbled against her shoulder, biting her bra strap until it snapped in half. She moaned at the brief sting, tilting her head back so she could start undoing her braid. Her bright hair fell in beach styled waves down her back. When he passed by the computer, Iris had long forgot about the college classes she was going to register for.
Just as he laid her out of their bed, Iris's cell phone rung loudly. Two things happened from that one interruption; Edward's agitated groan and Iris hopping up from the bed to snatch the phone and throw off her ruined bra.
"Hey Rose," She chuckled lowly at her husband annoyed expression. He just couldn't get his way on this. Iris held the phone between her shoulder and ear, padding towards the closet to slip on her satin mini dress. Her nips showed slightly through the material but she shrugged it off and slid in her cute baby doll, cream pumps.
"Hey, are we meeting at Donna's house or Isabella's?" Iris could hear the disdain in her voice and it made her smirk as she applied her ruby red lipstick. Rose was still not very fond of Bella no matter what she did to try and amend it. Iris was sure Rosalie was at least a little jealous of her, for the humanity. Lord knows Rose would've killed tooth and nail for a baby of her own, and now the Swan was giving it up.
"Donna's, I'm on my way now," Another groan from her husband made her giggle.
"Okay, goodbye." Iris quickly grabbed her clutch from the nightstand and pecked Edward's lips before skipping out the house to go pick up Bella.
"Iris, I am not wearing another dress. I only wore one for your wedding." Bella complained as Iris raked a brush through the curls she placed there. The ginger rolled her eyes and continued with her work as Alice applied subtle makeup to the Swan's face. The bride-to-be grimace every time she felt the colored filled brush sweep over her cheeks and eyes. To put it simply, she didn't care too much for the glitz and glam. That's what made Iris and her such a perfect fit for friends, because they were the exact opposites.
"Okay... maybe just a skirt?" Alice asked with a hopeful expression to which Rosalie lightly rolled her eyes. Bella looked to be in a bind, her eyes shifting from between the girls for any assistance against Alice, but to no avail. Even Ava wasn't saying anything as she rocked a bright red romper that contrasted nicely with her creamy complexion. The brunette sighed deeply in resignation,"Fine."
Alice and Iris squealed at the same time, the immortal pixie pulling out a mini leather skirt out of her bag. The girls blinked at her owlishly to which she winked. She already knew Bella would give in and brought reinforcements.
Ava whistled lowly, "That's one nifty gift. Oi, can you tell me what the lottery numbers are?" The Aussie frowned when everyone started laughing, thinking it was a joke as they clammered out of Donna's old home with different flirty outfits on. "I was serious."
The music jumped and bumped throughout Iris's whole body as they stepped on the scene. Port Angeles wasn't the most popular place to be during the weekend, but it got the job done when a group of girls wanted to let loose. The ginger was very aware of the awed eyes on all of their bodies as they walked in together. She could see every detail on the raving forms in the poorly lit crowd. The glistening of sweat, bloodshot eyes and vulgar actions that should really be done in a private room somewhere else. If she was honest, it made her a little thirsty...for AB positive.
They all gathered around a stool table, Ava ordering Bella, Iris and herself a round of shots to down. When the Aussie offered her the shot, Iris felt inclinded to refuse it. She didn't know why, but she wasn't in the mood for drinking. Maybe she didn't want another repeat of dancing in a sink somewhere.
"Hey, any of you ladies wanna dance?" Iris fought the chuckle wanting to spill from her lips. Couldn't a group of girls just want to go out and have a good time without gaining so much male attention? Of course not, because where is the fun in that?
The darkskinned guy was handsome, that was for sure. Tall and nicely built with his hair freshly cut and edged up on the sides. Iris praised him with her speckled gaze, wiggling her eyebrows towards Bella suggestively. "Our girl here is getting married to my brother tomorrow. Show her one more good time would ya?"
The guy chuckled throatily, and Iris found it charming. Bella's eyes widened in bewilderment for two reasons: this guy was a stranger, a hot stranger but a stranger nonetheless, and two; she didn't know how to dance at all. She sneakily glared at her best friend over the table as the girls laughed behind their hands, knowingly.
"I hope you won't miss your feet," Rose called over to them as Isabella was being pulled through the crowd to dance. Iris snorted and picked up the shot glass after all. It was a grand occasion, so why not, she thought.
As the night went on the girls got rowdy, dancing together as they raised their hands in the air. Iris supposed she had a couple more shots after the first and she was a little tipsy however, she knew it wouldn't last long at all. They cheered Bella on as she tossed one glass back and another, man she would be hell tomorrow. Ava stood on top of a chair and raised a glass uncermoniously, "To being cuffed for the rest of your life!"
"Oi, oi!" The girls echoed while Alice and Iris chortled uncontrollably as Bella struggled to lift the glass to her lips and split some to the side of her mouth. "Our little Bells is getting married. Oh my god, I think I'm going to cry." Iris fanned herself as tears gathered in her eyes, she was going to gain another sibling.
Isabella hugged Iris's side as she quickly wiped her face. What was with her vampire-enhanced emotions lately. "I need a picture of this," Alice commented as she sighed happily.
"I got you covered," Rosalie added as she smirked. They reached over the table to high five.
"...So who's carrying her in the house?" Ava blew the wavy hair out of her face, shifting her gaze to Bella as she slumped on the table, cheek in palm. Some people just couldn't hold their liquor and that someone was Bella Swan. With a shrug Iris lifted her fingers to count to three before proclaiming "Not it," with everyone else following right after.
Unfortunately for her, Rose was the last to catch on, thus she scowled the rest of the way back home.
Wink wink, nug nug... Anywaysss, what did you guys think of the first chapter? I think it's cute but let me know in the comments. #Cella wedding is happening next chapter and I can't wait!
