Shantelle's POV
Hi there! My name is Shantelle Morgan- Anoa'i. I am 29 years old and I am married to Joe Anoa'i, who is a real estate developer here in Florida. Before I got married, I taught United States history at Pensacola High School, and I truly enjoyed it. I have always been a big fan of history and an even bigger fan of the history of the presidency of the United States. When I was growing up, I was probably one of very few children that could hold conversations with adults regarding politics and democracy. When I graduated high school and went on to college, I initially majored in biology because I had planned to go to pharmacy school, but my love of history outweighed my desire to enter the health care field. So what did I do? Against the wishes of my parents, I followed my heart and I changed my major to history and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in History. After graduation, I took a job as a substitute teacher at Pensacola High School. It didn't pay much but I didn't care because I love history and I loved teaching, so since I was doing something that I loved and that was all that mattered.
I continued to substitute teach until I was offered a full time teaching position as a history teacher 6 months later. There were not enough words to express my excitement. I was finally able to teach a subject that I loved very much on a full time basis. While teaching, I made a lot of friends among the other teachers and staff at the school. I became very close with Sarah, who taught AP Honors Chemistry. She and I started around the same time and we hit it off immediately.
About a year after I became full time, Sarah became engaged to her college sweetheart, Daniel. Daniel was an investment banker who worked at Merrill Lynch, and was recently promoted to senior partner. Sarah was so excited, she invited me to a celebratory gathering and it was there that I met Joe. I mean, I don't think I had ever seen a more handsome man in all my life. He was the epitome of tall, dark and handsome.
"Oh my god, thank you for coming!" Sarah said excitedly, giving me a big hug as I entered the restaurant. "There is someone I'd like you to meet!"
"Shantelle, this is Daniel's frat brother Joe...Joe this is my friend and colleague Shantelle". She said, introducing us.
"Well, hello there...Sarah, you didn't tell me you had such gorgeous friends". Joe said, his deep rich voice sending chills down my spine.
"Good old Joe, always the charmer." Sarah laughed.
"What?", Joe said, laughing but then becoming serious. "It's true, she's gorgeous."
Suddenly, my face felt warm as Joe's gaze washed over me. His brown eyes and warm smile made me melt.
For the remainder of the evening, Joe and I were inseparable. We must've talked for hours about our backgrounds, our families and our favorite things and found that we have more in common than I thought. We are family oriented and we both love old school cartoons and tv shows, football and professional wrestling. I also discovered that we are both foodies and love to cook. At the end of the night, we exchanged phone numbers and promised to keep in contact.
After that evening, Joe and I spoke on the phone every day for that first week for hours on end. The next week, he asked me out on a date. For our first date, we had a picnic at a local park. We both made our favorite foods and shared them with each other. We then went for a long drive, just enjoying each other's company. To me, it was simply wonderful because I love very simplistic things and just being around Joe was sufficient for me. Not only that, Joe was a perfect gentleman, he opened doors and was just considerate in general.
For the next month, Joe and I spent a lot of time together. We had even met each other's families. In the back of my mind, I felt that things between us was moving a little too fast because we had only known each other for such a short time. But, at the same time, I was falling in love with Joe and he was falling in love with me. Even though we had not been intimate, we would spend hours making out like a couple of horny teenagers. When I told him that I was a virgin, and only wanted to give my body to the man I marry, he smiled so big, it lit up a room. He told me that there was nothing more beautiful than a woman who kept herself pure and those were the type of women that men loved, protected, and married. So imagine my shock and surprise when 3 months later, Joe and I went out to a fancy restaurant and it was there that he tearfully asked me to be his wife, presenting me with a very large princess cut diamond engagement ring.
Initially, I thought it was a little sudden for him to propose, but I was in love with this man and against my better judgment, I said yes. When I accepted his proposal, he was over the moon and told me that he would make me the happiest woman in the world. We told our families and even though they thought it was a bit sudden, they were still overjoyed for us. We decided to have a courthouse wedding and then a small intimate celebration with just our close friends and family. After we got married, we spent 2 weeks honeymooning in Hawaii. I must say it was wonderful, we spent the entire time just getting know each other and it was there that Joe took my virginity. The day after Joe proposed, I got on birth control. We decided that we would delay starting a family for a few years so that we could get to know each other and enjoy being husband and wife.
Needless to say, our first time together was so beautiful. Joe, for a man his size, was such a patient and gentle lover. Initially, I was nervous about making love for the first time but Joe was so wonderful that it he made it easy, which made me fall even deeper in love with him.
After we returned from Hawaii, we went to my apartment and Joe helped me pack my belongings to move to his house. Now mind you, I had never been to Joe's house, so I honestly had no idea where he lived. When we arrived to his house, my mouth dropped. I had never seen a home so big up close in my entire life. I mean, the foyer alone was bigger than my living room.
As I traveled throughout the house, I was astonished. Honestly, I had only seen houses like this on tv shows like MTV Cribs and in music videos, not actually been inside one......
"Wow, is this really your house?" I said.
"No, my love is actually OUR house now. Please tell me you like it. If you don't, I'll sell it and get something you like." Joe replied, smiling.
"No..no, it's beautiful, it's just so...BIG." I said. "How many square feet is it?"
"It's 14,000 square feet." Joe said, matter of factly.
"Whoa! That's almost as big as the White House!" I say.
"Well not quite.."Joe laughed, initially but then his expression softening. "But, you know something. I do feel like the President of the United States of Anoa'i and you, my love are my First Lady."
"Oh baby, you are so sweet." I say, my cheeks suddenly feeling warm.
"Come my Queen, let me give you a tour of your new castle." Joe said, taking my hand.
As we toured the house, I was in complete amazement as to how big and beautiful it was. The kitchen was huge with stainless steel appliances and every kitchen gadget known to man. I thought this was great because I love to cook. The kitchen also had a huge butler's pantry that had even more space to work. It also had a casual breakfast area that could seat up to 15. The formal dining room was also huge, as it could seat up to 30.
"Wow! I'm gonna have a lot of fun cooking in here!" I said.
"I bet you will and I think I'm gonna truly enjoy your cooking". Joe said, taking me in his arms, gazing deeply into my eyes.
As we continued going through the house, I continued to be amazed. The house had 13 bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms, a front and back staircase, a game room, a gym, a movie theater, a library, a game room and Joe had a huge man cave. When Joe showed me our bedroom, my mouth dropped. Never in my life had I seen a bedroom so large, I mean, our bedroom was bigger than my parents' entire house. There were his and her bathrooms, a sitting room and two huge his and her walk in closets. The closets alone were as a big as the bedroom in my old apartment. Now, I don't have many articles of clothing, so I don't really need such a large closet. But Joe? My goodness, I never thought a man could have so many clothes.
"So what do you think baby girl? You think we could one day fill these bedrooms up with babies?" Joe asked, taking me in his massive arms and putting his forehead against mine.
"Oh my sweetheart, there's is nothing I want more than to love you, be a good wife to you and have your babies." I say, as I look deeply into his brown eyes as I stroked his handsome bearded face.
Just then tears welled up in Joe's eyes and slid down his face unchecked.
"Baby, you don't know how glad I am that you said that because you mean the world to me. You are mine forever. Nobody is gonna take you away from me. I will spill blood over you. If I can't have you...NOBODY will have you." Joe said, as he held me tight and kissed me passionately.
In the back of my mind, I was thinking, "What did that mean?" But, I'm deeply in love with Joe, so I was sure it would be fine.
So what do you all think?
Should Shantelle be worried?
