A Few Hours Later.....

Joshua and Takecia arrive at Joe's house....

"Bae, do you think this gonna work?" Takecia asked, as Josh rang the doorbell.

"Yeah I think so, it'll be cool." Josh replied.

At that moment, Shantelle opened the door with a big smile.

"Hey y'all!!" Shantelle yelled excitedly while eyeing Josh and Takecia knowingly, and then giving them a hug as they entered the house.

As they entered the living room, they noticed Joe was still at home. He was sitting in the living room with an unreadable look on his face...

"Hey Joe!" Takecia said smiling.

"What up Uce!" Joshua greeted his cousin.

"Hey y'all. So Shan tells me y'all hanging out today?" Joe asked, rhetorically.

"Yeet. Since y'all been married, she ain't really ever hung out with anyone else in the family except you Uce." Joshua laughed, in an attempt to make light of the situation.

"Uh maybe because.....I don't know.....she's my wife?!!" Joe yelled, not at all amused.

"Calm down Uce...chill...I'm just fucking with you. Can't you take a joke?" Josh explained.

Joe was silent for a moment and stared at Joshua before responding...

"You know, when it comes to her, I don't joke." Joe said in a serious tone pointing to Shantelle.

"Aight my bad Uce." Joshua said, holding his hands up in defense.

Joe just shook his head. Josh then turned his attention to Shantelle...

"Well, you ready to go baby girl?" Josh asked Shantelle.

At that moment, Joe perked up at his cousin's term of endearment for his wife....

"What you just call her?" Joe said in a low voice.

At that moment, Josh, Takecia and Shantelle looked at each other in utter confusion. It was at that moment that Takecia spoke up in defense of her husband...

"Joe.....he called her baby girl. Just like he calls me baby girl, he calls Trin baby girl and Almia baby girl. What's the problem?" She asked, frowning.

"Yeah Uce. What you trippin' on this morning?" Josh asked, getting irritated.

"What Starbucks y'all going to?" Joe asked, completely ignoring the question.

"Baby, we're going to the one near Cordova Mall and then we're going to do some shopping." Shantelle said.

"Yeet, I'm trying to cop the new Jordans that just came out." Joshua chimed in.

"And I wanna use my coupon that I got for the Coach store." Takecia said.

Joe looked at the trio again for a moment before speaking....

"Aight, well have a good time...I guess and I'll see y'all later." Joe sighed.

Shantelle sensed her husband was upset at her leaving and she tried to console him....

"Baby, what's the matter? This isn't like you. They just want to spend a little time with me that's all. Don't be like that. I'll tell you what, when I come back, I'll...." Shantelle said, as she whispered in her husband's ear causing him to smile slightly.

"Ok" Joe chuckled slightly.

"Well I'm going now. I love you." She said kissing him on the lips.

"I love you too." He replied.

"Aight Uce." Josh said dapping his cousin.

"Bye Joe." Takecia waved.

After the trio left, the slight smile that was on Joe's face disappeared....

"Nobody's taking you away from me Shan, and I mean that shit! I know one goddamn thing, this shit betta be on the level, because if it's not....all hell is gon' break loose all 'round this muthafucka!!!"Joe snarled, talking to himself.

Joe then went to his home office and called his assistant at his downtown office...

"Hello Roberta, this is Mr. Anoa'i. Reschedule my meeting for 2pm. Thanks bye!" He said.

After calling the office, Joe took a deep breath and opened his desk drawer and pulled out a .357 magnum and placed it in his waistband and went to the garage, got in his black Lincoln Navigator with tinted windows and headed down the street.
