Emily's POV

we are waiting for our turn at the roller coaster and my legs are shaking, like literally shaking. why am I so nervous all of a sudden?

we approached the closer the worker directed us to the rows where we are supposed to sit and guess what....we got the the front row. really? could this be any worse? but anyhow I am determined to face this roller coaster once and for all.

The coach came three minutes later and the people filed out leaving vacant seats behind them which are supposed to filled by us now.

I climbed in first with Luke right behind me. we pulled the safety overhead belt and secured our seats belts tightly. the attendant checked all our seat belts, making sure none of them is lose.

we don't want people flying out of the roller coasters now do we.

the attendant gave a thumbs up to the operator indicating we are good to go. we start moving, slowly. we began to climb up. I looked down at the park which was glowing with lights from food stalls and other rides. it was beautiful.

"ready for the drop Emily?" Luke asks smirking at me as we reach the drop.

" ready as I'll ever be" reply holding the handle tightly.

" here we go then!" Luke said and a second later we dropped.

" that was AWESOME! can we go again?" I exclaimed as we walked out after riding the roller coaster.

" weren't you scared before?" Luke asks smirking. I glared at him.

" that's because I didn't know it would be so much fun." I say.

" c'mon we have to ride the giant wheel." Cole says. me and Alice run towards the giant wheel like little school girls.

we were running towards it while the boys were walking behind us when suddenly Alice stopped.

" hey. why are you stopping?" I ask. she smiles mischievously making me more confused.

" I have an idea" she says smiling at me. the look on her face is telling me she is up to no good.

" okay?" I say, still uncertain.

she whispers her plan to me so that no one hears and I too start smiling widely while listening to it. I immediately agree with her and we start executing our plan. we tell the boys that we have to use the restroom and then walk away.

we approach a hotdog and popcorn stand where a man is packing up every thing as its probably getting late. Alice goes to talk to him.

" hey.." she says slowly twirling a strand of her hair in her finger . the man looks up to see her. he is cute having dirty blond hair with grey eyes. he seems a little tired from the long day of work. he smiles at Alice and asks

" how can I help you girls". Alice leans in a little so her cleavage is visible.

"umm.. could give us popcorn please" she says in a sweet voice.

the man looks at her cleavage with wide eyes and nods. " s-sure. be r-right b-back."

he stutters and leaves to get us popcorn. while his back is to us, I quickly and sneakily take two bottles of ketchup and hide them behind my back just in time when he returns. he hands Alice the popcorn smirking while Alice pays him and then turns to leave winking at him. we then quickly go to the parking lot. since its getting late so there aren't many cars there so its easy to find the two cars we came in.

I don't know how Alice managed to get the keys to both the cars but she had them and threw me Luke's keys. we opened the cars and spread the ketchup on the seats excluding the ones in which we would sit on. I only spread the ketchup on the driver's seat as Luke and I came alone. our dorm room is actually in another block than the rest of others so when we went back we wouldn't have to drop them off and could heat straight for our dorm.

Alice applied ketchup on the driver's seat and I helped her to spread it on the backseat as she had to ride with Cole, Justin and Alex. I couldn't help but think what would be their reactions.

After doing the job. we went back to the boys who were relieved when they saw us.

" where were you girls?" Cole asks us grabbing Alice towards him.

" we were taking popcorn" I reply to them.

" you should've told us. we were worried." Justin says and we walk towards the giant wheel.

since the park is about to be closed, we are the only ones riding the wheel.

" I and Emily are going to sit together on this one" Alice says.

" okay then, I'll go with Alex" Cole says.

" that leaves me with Luke" Justin says smiling and puts his hand around Luke's shoulders. Luke doesn't say anything. in fact he seems a little....angry? why is he angry? what happened while I and Alice were away?

we board the giant wheel. first Luke and Justin. then Alex and Cole. And then I and Alice. the wheel starts moving up wards and as we reach the top our cart stops for a while. I see most of the city. its totally beautiful. there are lights everywhere. its like the city is alive. full of energy and enthusiasm. the cool air is washing up my face and it feels good to sit here.i look down and see Alex and Cole in the cart below us talking casually and down ahead there are Luke and Justin. Luke is still a little upset and I don't know why. Justin was talking to him, trying to start a conversation or maybe convincing him about something. I am sure Justin knows whats up with Luke. I mean they are best friends so its obvious.

As we walk out from the amusement park and head towards our cars, I and Alice are barely holding on our laughs to see what their reactions would be when they sit in the car. we are walking behind the boys to see their reactions and as soon as they all sit they jump up feeling the wet ketchup on their behinds and get out of the car cursing. me and Alice burst out laughing not able to hold our laughter anymore. the guys are glaring at us as we rolling on the floor laughing.

" we're gonna get you back for this" Alex says. we are still laughing hard completely ignoring him.

" did you see their faces!! oh my god that was hilarious" Alice says as she calms down a little. I just nod trying to control myself.

"well play girls. but you won't get us next time" Justin says determined. but we just laugh at his threat.

" ITS NOT FUNNY!" Luke shouts suddenly.

he is looking furious...very furious. didn't he like the prank?

"it was only a prank, Luke." I say becoming quite from his outburst.

" ONLY A PRANK, EMILY? its not funny. is this some kind of a joke to you? can't you grow up? you think this prank is funny? its not Emily. its not fucking funny. understand?"

I jump back listening this. why is he over reacting. its a simple prank. its not like I busted his car or something.

" Luke, calm down man, I was only a joke." Alex says.

" yeah man, no need to get so worked up about it" Cole says trying to calm him.

A look of sudden realization comes on is face.

" Emily-...." he starts but I cut him off.

" whatever Luke, lets just go home. I'll see you guys" I say frustrated and quickly wave a bye to them and sit in the car.

Luke come over and starts driving. the ride is filled with tension in the air. both of us uncomfortable. when he pulls over, I quickly scramble out from the car before he can say something. I walk over to the dorm and went straight to the bathroom grabbing my night suit.

What just happened. not even an hour ago Luke was all friendly and kind and all of a sudden he bursts out like his pants are on fire. seriously? he is telling me to grow up when he is the one who should grow up. what wrong did I do. don't friends play pranks on each other?

shaking off my thoughts, I quickly changed into my night suit and went straight to bed, not bothering to play my guitar like every night.

Luke's POV

" how much more time are they gonna take?" I ask.

we are going to ride the giant wheel and Emily and Alice have gone to the washroom.we have been waiting for them for the past ten minutes and I am starting to get a little worried.

" don't know man. girls take forever in the bathroom." Justin says.

we just talk for a while when something or should I say someone catches my eye. I turn to my left and I see her. Maria. she's with the same guy. the one she was with in the club. they both are laughing and eating candy. she seems really happy. sharing kisses with him. don't get me wrong, I am happy for her. but I wasn't enough for her and it makes me angry.

" what are you looking at?" Justin says as he follows to where my eyes are." oh no" Justin gasps. everyone is now watching her as she walks away.

Everyone is quiet when the girls come back. we go up to the giant wheel after interrogating them on how they were late while I was just quiet, not really in the mood to talk. after I sat with Justin on the cart he asked me

" are you okay?" he face held worry.

" yah I am fine" I reply not really wanting to talk.

" no you're not." Justin says, " do you still have feelings for her?" he asks.

"no. I am over her, but I can't get over the fact that I wasn't good enough for her. she left me for someone else and she's happy with him and I am happy for her. but I just wasn't enough" I say sighing.

" hey you know that's not true. you are more than enough man. I know you. yah I know after she left you became a womanizer but that's the past, that was high school, it was almost an year ago. now its college, and as far as I know, you haven't slept with a single girl after you came here. and I also know the reason for that." he finishes with a smile. and I am confused.

" what reason? what are you talking about?" I asked him.

" Emily. she is the reason. ever since you met her on the first day of college, you haven't even tried to sleep with some one. you like her. you just don't know it yet." he finishes.

I look up at Emily who was sitting with Alice at the topmost pint of the giant wheel looking at the city with a small smile on her face.

"how?" I say, " how can I trust her? how do I know she's not going to ditch me for another guy?" I ask.

" you don't know her yet." Justin speaks." you both have met just a little above a month ago. get to know her more. Emily is a nice girl. I know she isn't like other girls and you know it too. just think about it" he finishes. I just nod.

We get down from the ride and head towards the car. my head is still a little clouded with Maria and I can't help but feel irritated again. I just need to sleep. I open the car and slip into the drivers seat, I suddenly feel something wet and see ketchup on my pants and shirt. what the hell?!. I immediately get out of the car muttering profanities under my breath. whoever did this is going to die. as get out I see everyone has ketchup on the behinds except for Emily and Alice who are on the flop laughing their heads off. how dare they! I can hear Alex and Cole talking to them about we will get revenge but I am just furious. first Maria comes before my eyes today and then I get ketchup on my clothes!

"ITS NOT FUNNY!" I shout, getting more angry by the second.

"it was only a prank, Luke." Emily says smiling a little. and then I burst.

" ONLY A PRANK, EMILY? its not funny. is this some kind of a joke to you? can't you grow up? you think this prank is funny? its not Emily. its not fucking funny. understand?" I shout angrily.

she jumps back by my sudden reaction, shocked.

" Luke, calm down man, I was only a joke." Alex says.

" yeah man, no need to get so worked up about it" Cole says trying to calm me down.

And the I realize what i've done. shit. how could I shout at her. I overreacted over a prank? I feel really stupid now.

" Emily-...." I try to apologize but she cuts me off.

" whatever Luke, lets just go home. I'll see you guys" she says frustrated which makes me feel a whole lot guilty.

she sits in the car without saying a word.

" you better fix this Luke" Alice says.

"how?". I ask.

" just apologize nicely to her nicely, she'll understand" she says with a tiny smile and they leave.

I sit in the car and we drive off. not a word is spoken during the ride. when I pull over, Emily quickly gets out from the car and hurries toward the dorm. I sigh and get out walking ever so slowly towards the dorm. when I reach the dorm, I find her already sleeping. she didn't even play her guitar tonight. she plays her guitar every.single.day. even if her work ends at midnight, she doesn't sleep before playing her guitar. this makes me more guilty. she is so upset with me she didn't even play her guitar.

I am such a dickhead. how could I even think of shouting at her. it wasn't even her fault. sighing again, I go over to my bed. not bothering to change, I just strip out of my clothes only leaving my knickers on and lie down on the bed. and a second later I fall asleep.
