DxV | "Can I stay here for a few days?"
A few weeks after moving in with Donte~
Valentine stared down at the grave in front of him, an bundle of white roses gripped tightly in his right fist, as the rain poured down on his head. Valentine thought his world had ended. Sure his mother was a cruel person, someone who caused nothing but hell for him, but she was still his mother. A few weeks before his father had turned his back on him, denying that he was his son, denying any kind of help and yelling in his face. Now he had no parent, he had just turned eighteen. He had no one by his side. Valentine clenched his jaw, as he gritted his teeth in anger. He knelt down and placed the roses on top of his mothers grave, hanging his head as his first tear fell.
"Fuck you for leaving me... fuck you for not caring... I loved you even though you hated me." Valentine whispered out shakily, standing up with muddied knees he walked away, stuffing his ice cold hands in his pockets.
Valentine had a rough few weeks, he was more than done with life, ready to murmur his last few words, breathe his last breath and smile his last smile. Yet he couldn't, how could he admit to those feelings? How could he let the Amor name burn so quickly? How could he fail his mother.. how could he leave his brothers behind? He plastered a wide smile on his lips as he acted like everything was fine, standing up straight, laughing loudly, joking even more and playing just as hard. He swam further than he had before, ran faster when playing basketball, studied harder for tests, tried at English. He did everything he could to seem like a normal high-school student, one who cared about collage, one who wanted to live another day, one who would get through the year.
Now he had just been informed by his older brother that he would have to move out, not in any kind of cruel way. He had been informed by his landlord that Donte couldn't have Valentine and Dylan living with him, even if Dylan didn't live with him, yet.. "I know it's tough, Valentine. But me and Lucifer are more than willing to pay for an apartment for you! Me and Dylan agree that it's best if you get some independence.. and I can't go against my landlord, I'm afraid he will kick me out if I go against him anymore." Donte explained with a soft voice. Yet his explanation went in the one ear and out the next. Valentine stared down at his hands as he struggled for words, he didn't want to be alone. He couldn't be alone. He was so scared. So scared.
Flynn was his closest friend, they had only known each other for a few weeks but grown close, sure.. they kissed once or twice when drunk, but nothing else, Valentine knew he couldn't commit, that he couldn't prevent hurting Flynn, so he stood by his side as a good friend, someone for Flynn to relax around. The rain poured down on Valentine as he rushed up the steps to Flynn's home, knocking on the door and stepping back slightly, holding a backpack full of stuff, his hoodie thrown up try and keep him dry. But by now the rain had soaked though his hoodie. Valentine wore a black hoodie with black cargo pants and black Doc Martins, he wore a few rings with his outfit that were cheap, and a chain with a key hung around his neck. His hoodie was soaked through, his hair was damp and there was a smell of a recently smoked cigarette left on him. Perhaps he stole one or two of his other friends cigarettes...
Once the door opened Valentine looked relieved, forgetting to say hi, or even explain why he was stood in the rain at 11:35 pm.
