Chapter 17: "I'm no stranger."
Charlotte's P.O.V
"Are you really wearing that to the concert?" Paisley said when she looked at my worn-out black leggings and my paint-stained Rolling Stones t-shirt.
I shrugged, I had packed in a rush and the clothes I grabbed were the ones on the top bunch of my closet.
"We are going shopping!" Paisley called out, "I don't care if it is already—some hour at night—it's Las Vegas! We have to enjoy this."
"All right, let's go," I said, "I actually want to buy clothes." "Well, what are we waiting for? To the automobile!" Eli said and walked out the door with the car keys in her hand.
Paisley and I just looked at her strangely, yet shrugged it off afterwards.
We followed her out of the hotel room and got into the elevator. Once we got to the parking lot, we entered the car and Paisley drove to the closest mall—one which was not really that close.
"I like this, what do you think?" Elizabeth said, showing me a cream-colored dress. I looked at it and pictured what kind of accessories it could go with, "I like it, yet I think I saw something over there that would go perfect with it," I said, grabbing her hand and taking her through a weird hunt for clothes. Once I had gathered everything, she went to try all of it on. In the meanwhile, I checked out the clothes near the dressing room, to see if anything was worth buying.
"Char," I heard Eli call out, I turned around and smiled. "You look amazing," I said. "Thanks to you," she responded.
She was wearing the cream-colored dress, with a denim jacket, dress boots, and a pretty long necklace that combined with the boots.
"I am definitely buying all this," she said and then went to change her clothes once again.
"Now, I have to find something for myself," I said, a bit frustrated, but then I saw several pieces that combined perfectly. I grabbed everything and went into the dressing room, this time, Elizabeth and Paisley—who had already chosen a black shirt with white stripes, a white jean, black dress boots and a really cool hat.
I put everything I had chosen and walked out, feeling confident as the raindrops falling down whenever they wanted to, which was pretty weird, because I did not imagine raindrops feeling confident until that moment.
"I really like this," I told the girls, they looked at me, then at each other, then at me again and nodded with a huge smile on each of their faces. It was a simple outfit, yet cute in my eyes and apparently in my friends' eyes.
It was composed of an olive green jean, a black crop top, a beidge cardigan, black boots and the rest were accesories.
Once we had everything we liked, we paid for it and got some last minute food to take to the hotel with us.
The next day, we ate our breakfast at the hotel's restaurant and made some little trips around the place, because it was... Las Vegas.
It was an hour or two before the concert, when we had started to get ready for it, we all ended up looking pretty badass, and as Paisley drove toward the place where the concert was being held at, I noticed that I did not know who was the singer or band we were going to listen to for the next hours.
"Paisley?" I called out.
"Hmm?" she mumbled.
"To who's concert are we going to?" I asked, but when I did, there was a complete and utter silence in the car, one of fear more than doubt. Then, after thinking about all the recent events, I understood.
"You piece of sweet golden pie!" I yelled at her, knowing I was going to curse, but choosing not to.
"It was the only way, please do not get mad at us!" Elizabeth said. "You were involved in this?!" "Sorry," "It's too late now to say sorry," I said.
There was a bit of silence, this time, it was of tension.
We got to this cool place, and I immediately saw a thousand girls trying to get in from one way or another.
I got nervous all of a sudden. I mean, I had not seen Justin since the weird incident, but I did not believe it was that that made me feel nervous.
When we were inside, the place looked small, yet when it started to fill up with the screaming girls and their tolerant parents, I noticed the place was pretty huge.
We had front-row tickets, and I guess that actually made me a bit more nervous. Yes, I accepted I was nervous to see Justin once again, more than nervous, I was actually a bit excited.
The lights went out, and I noticed a clock counting down the seconds as a shadow appeared on the screen.
The music for All Around the World started playing and Justin flew all over the place and ended on the stage with his instrument-made wings.
I smiled, it kind of made me happy to see all his Beliebers supporting him like that, it made me think how I should be supporting him as well.
So, I started singing and dancing, having fun with my best friends, I told them I forgave them for not telling me we were going to be there, since, well, I was really enjoying it.
"So, I want to know, who are the lonely girls out here tonight?" I heard Justin say, the music stopping, but the screams going louder.
"You know, I heard there was going to be this special lonely girl," he said, smiling and blushing, "And, I wanted to bring her up, so there could be... one less lonely girl."
"Oh no," I whispered to myself, "Don't tell me that's me."
Justin started singing One Less Lonely Girl, the dancers bringing a chair onstage and a bouquet of roses, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
As I turned around, mentally screaming, I noticed that a girl was tapping on my shoulder because I was stepping on her a-little-bit-too-long dress.
I sighed, apologized and turned around to seeing Justin with a sweet-looking girl that I calculated to be 12 years old.
The girl cried, Justin hugged her and gave her flowers, it was a beautiful experience for her as you could see. And to think that I, would ever replace that, made me feel a bit nauseous.
Maybe it was the food, the small amount of space, the heat or many other factors, but I suddenly felt the room was spinning.
In a split of a second, I blacked out.
Justin's P.O.V
"Is she all right?" I asked when I went backstage, after finishing the last song of the concert. I was sweating like a pig, it was nervousness and tiredness all combined.
"She just woke up," Paisley said as she approached me, "I hope y'all get back together, because if not, her fainting wouldn't have been worth it."
It was for sure a random comment, but I chuckled and walked past her to my dressing room. Finally, I thought, knowing I would see Charlotte once again after spending time without her.
I could still hear her voice, I could see her face, but all those memories didn't help if I knew she wasn't there.
I opened the door and there she was, laying down with her arm on top of her eyes, covering them from the flashing light. She sat up as I shut the door, slightly scared.
"Hey, hey, don't sit up so fast," I walked up to her, helping her sit correctly. She was looking down, shy and all.
"I'm no stranger, I don't bite," I said, making her smile a little, "Come on, talk to me Charlotte."
She looked up and her mouth curled up to the side. I was intensely watching her eyes, her lips, her every move, but I tried to contain myself in case she was still upset with me.
Then, she kissed me.
