Basics: AU where the characters are replaced with Greek gods/goddesses

Introduction:

Many years ago, the ancient people thought that there were two races. They though there were superior beings, that were called Gods, and themselves, Humans. The Humans, for a long time, believed themselves powerless under the gods. However, Humans will forever grow and continue arrogant, and soon enough, they began to think, that instead, though with some good reason, that they were above these mythical creatures. And the story goes, that there was an ancient battle, where the supposed gods' one weakness was exploited; You injured their soul while they were in a smaller form, they could never grow to their true size again, and further, you could kill them, causing them to lose all their memories and be forced to reincarnate... It couldn't be reversed... unless their soul was given the sacrifice of seven mortal souls.

This weakness, through deceit, won the war. The gods, all injured, some having died, were placed upon Mount Olympus, and trapped in their home, just waiting for someone to foolishly climb the mountain, and help them enact their plan to free themselves once again.

Notes:

·The gods go by human names, but in battle, their true names are usually revealed

*And she snorts, and she laughs. Like, she's dying of laughter, she can't stop, not like I want her to.
*And after a minute, she goes, 'That was terrible. Let me teach you how it's done. Knock knock.'
*And I of course go, who's there, because this is the first time anyone's responded to these dumb jokes with anything other than annoyance.
*'god', she says.
*'god who', I reply, grinning like a maniac
*and she giggles like it's the best joke in history and goes 'gesundheit'.
*And it's my turn to die of laughter and chide her on her bad joke.
*And well, we just went on like that for a long time. A bad joke competition, pretty much.
*But one day, she's not feeling up to it.
*With every joke I give, even the best ones I've got, she just laughs half heartedly. Doesn't even scold me.
*And all of a sudden, she goes, 'Please. Can you promise me something?'
*And well, I don't really believe in promises, but I'm sure as hades not letting this miss down, so I just say, 'of course,'
*And she goes, 'protect any human that comes through here.'
*And well,

*That's why you're not dead yet.
