Chapter Twenty Three
Tw: eh...horseplay? Is that a trigger?
"Woah woah, hold up," Remus said, interrupting the story. He had a bright look in his eyes, one that Janus knew all too well. That small little sparkle of mischief in his eyes that Damien and Patton had both seen many times before this.
Damien hummed. "Yes Remus?" He asked. He instantly regretted it as the young child got a grin on his face, one that could only be described as troublesome.
Remus hummed. "So....you got to punch your dad, right?" After Damien nodded some, he giggled. "So.........Am I allowed to punch my dad as well?"
Patton laughed as Damien's face filled with regret. "No, Remus," Patton giggled. "You're not allowed to punch your dad unless he does something wrong, ok?"
Damien nodded. "Even if I do something wrong, no punching. We have to keep violence away from this household. Understand?" Remus had only nodded, so Damien tried going back to the story.
"Ok, anyways," he started. But as he did, Remus lunged for him. Roman grabbed Remus and tackled him to the floor, the two wrestling around there for a little while.
Patton was laughing his butt off, watching as Damien facepalmed to himself. Damien got up and tried stopping the two boys, only ending up getting slapped as they horseplayed with one another.
Logan sighed in annoyance at his two brothers, but smiled as he heard Virgil giggling from his lap. He held the youngest close to himself and kissed his head gently. "Like that, Bat?" He asked softly, making the toddler giggle to himself.
Damien finally got Roman off of Remus, setting the two in different corners with the help of Patton. "Boys," he said sternly. "No fighting, especially with Virgil here. Plus you guys hit me, like, three times. At least."
Roman huffed. "You're welcome for saving your life from the evil Duke!" He and Remus had been playing like that ever since they'd all moved in together. Rough housing and having Remus as the evil Duke, and Roman was the perfect Prince who saved everyone from Remus.
Patton smiled. "Well, you did save him. Now may we continue the story?" He glanced at the time. "Actually, it's time for dinner. I'm gonna go start it, ok?"
The other Dad nodded and got all the kids set up to watch a movie. He and Patton went into the kitchen to start making Barbecue Chicken for dinner, working together easily.
"You punched your dad?" Patton asked after a bit, smiling some. "You never told me about that, Damien. I'm very proud of you."
Damien blushed and groaned. "I never told you because I knew you'd scold me for violence back then," he chuckled softly. "You were the kind who would've done that."
"Would not!" Patton huffed. He giggled, knowing Damien was actually right though. He got the chicken into the oven, humming as he watched Damien make the mashed potatoes.
He rolled his eyes. "Yes you would," Damien chuckled softly. "Don't even try to lie to me. I know you too well, my love." He kissed his head as he got down some plated to eat off of.
Patton smiled and rolled his eyes as he made up the plates. "Oh probably."
