It was months later and both of us were different people.

I was, anyway.

And you looked different, of that I was sure. But maybe it was just me, looking at you differently; in a new light.

Now, I don't know how it all began or how long it had been building up for, but one day, it just became known.

Like an unsaid thought bubble floating in the air between the few feet that separated us.

All of a sudden, I knew and you knew.

But neither of us spoke it aloud.

We probably should have.
