you hug me as if nothing happened (don't leave my side)
Mizi wears her heart on her sleeve—her joy so infectious with her bright smile, her sadness so deeply felt with her quiet tears, her anger so fierce with her impulsive nature.
Mizi is easy to read, even she herself admits to how plain her emotions can reveal her mood. And Sua is her complete opposite in many ways.
Sua is elusive, her heart tucked strictly behind lock and key with Mizi its sole keeper. Mizi feels like the luckiest girl alive to know sides of Sua only shown to her.
The stars in the sky feel closer on stage. Dressed in white, dressed in black—two figures gaze at the night sky, savoring the sight as if it would be their last time seeing it. And as a single bright ray whooshes above, leaving a brief scar on the sky, Mizi makes a wish.
A glance at Sua, "Oh, how lovely..." and her mind would tell her the millionth time.
"I want to kiss her."
The curve of Sua's smile, how her eyes crinkle, as she gazes at Mizi with the softest look. Mizi throws away all her inhibitions and takes that step to close their gap.
Lips find each other in a gentle kiss. Mizi feels Sua stiffen before melting into the kiss. Sua reaches up to cup Mizi's face—
BANG! Thud and splatter...!
The crowd roars in chaos. Cheers of excitement, shouts of confusion, screams of anger. The noise echoes loudly, but it's all but background buzz in Sua's ears.
Kneeling on the ground, uncaring of the blood staining her white dress, Sua presses her hand against Mizi's bloody neck. "Please, please, please, please, please...."
"Su... Sua...?" Sua's eyes immediately darted towards Mizi. "No, you'll be okay...! You're going to be okay, Mizi!" Her voice is shaking.
Mizi raises her hand, reaching for Sua. Keeping on hand firmly on Mizi's neck, Sua grabs her hand with one hand and placing Mizi's hand on her face. "I'm here, my clematis..."
"It hurts..." Mizi's breathing is slowing, the blood spilling from her mouth pooling onto the ground.
Lord, please... do not do this. Sua begs, begs to whatever god is out there. It should have been me.
"Sua?" Mizi calls out to her, her voice so incredibly weak. Sua tightens her grip on her hand. "Yes, my clematis?"
Mizi smiles—God, she smiles so beautifully—and whispers, "I love you."
Sua closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, holding onto the limp hand on her face, still keeping pressure on Mizi's neck.
And when she opens her eyes, she lets the tears fall.
"I love you too..." Sua whispers her reply too late, pulling the Mizi's motionless body close, "...so please wake up."
Sua hugs Mizi. She'll imagine that she's just asleep, that they were back at Anakt, and Mizi will wake up and smile at her again.
Sua glances at the scoreboard.
The screen displays the scores...
MIZI: 87 | SUA: 86
Mizi would've won.
Sua is suddenly reminded of the interview they had. Mizi had wanted to be the first in Alien Stage history to have a tie.
Mizi should've won.
"You did it... Mizi," Sua murmurs.
So why is she dead?
" You made Alien Stage history by making something that shouldn't happen..."
Why am I still alive?
"...happen."
I should be dead.
Sua feels the collar click onto her neck, making her embrace Mizi tighter. Sua yells, retaliates, harder than she ever did when they rip her apart from Mizi. Her screams must have echoed the loudest... it was she could hear.
Sua hopes it never snows more than ever.
"Why did you have to kiss me...?"
