CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: ONE COULD FALL IN LOVE

"When you finally get something good, enjoy it, don't always go looking for something better"

FIVE'S POV.

I still had my foot pressing against Lila's throat causing her to let out loudly grunts while gasping.

"You two got a good nose" The Handler said "You know, planting her in psych ward" I said as I glanced at her before looking back at Lila "Taking advantage of my simpleton brother, that was smart" I said.

"Well, the apple don't fall far from the tree" The Handler said and we turned to her, furrowing our brows as we tilted our heads while Lila was choking softly.

What did she just say?

"She's your---" "Daughter" The Handler said as Y/n and I pointed on Lila "Yes. And she's my only one, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't crush her windpipe" The Handler said as Lila was gasping while grunting.

Y/n and I glanced at each other and we sent each other a nod.

I press my foot more against Lila's throat before removing it and Lila gasped for air before she started panting as she got to her feet.

When she had catch her breath again, she took a step closer to us which cause me to take a step forward to he was standing in front of Y/n to protect her.

Touch her and I will kill you 

"I am so going to enjoy killing you two someday" she said "Like you could get the chance" Y/n said "Lila, darling, would you give us a minute, please?" The Handler asked "Yes, the grown-ups need to talk" I said with a fake smile and Lila turned to The Handler who nodded.

Lila rolled her eyes before she walked to the other end of the room, pushing something off a table causing it to fall to the floor with a loud clatter before she sat down by a table.

"I can't believe that you have a daughter" Y/n said "Yes, and I'm very proud of it. You two should know what I'm talking about since---" "Don't mention them" Five hissed at her.

"What is it you want?" Y/n asked as her and I were standing next to each other.

THIRD PERSON'S POV.

The Handler looked at Y/n, she had the chance now to tell Y/n that Five was the reason she ended up in a coma and the main reason she ended in the apocalypse, but she knew that without proof, Y/n would believe Five over her.

The Handler had the file and the tape that showed and explain how it happen and she also have that File that showed Five and her, the only thing she need is to find a way to show Y/n the tape without Five could interrupt.

YOUR POV.

"Do you two like jazz?" The Handler asked "I'd rather lick a cheese grater" Five answered "Aww" The Handler said as she smiled at him before she started walking around us.

"Jazz is like a beautiful woman" she said as she walked towards one of the tables behind us causing us to turn around "Complex, emotional, hard to please. She doesn't just give it to you...she makes you work for it" she said as she walked around the table.

"Okay, so it's basically my wife Y/n" Five said "Thanks Honey" I said sarcastically "You're welcome Love" Five said as we glance at each other before we looked back at The Handler.

"I'm really hoping that you're going somewhere with this" he said as he glanced at The Handler.

"Under my leadership, The Commission would sound more like..." she said as she put her arms out while she took a step towards him "...Jazz" she whispered before she started mimics soft jazz rhythm while tapping her foot on the floor.

"And what about the board of directors?" I asked as Five tilted his head "Well, that's where you two come in" The Handler said and poked Five's nose before stepping back "Nope. No, it isn't" we both said calm while shaking our heads.

"Come on. You two back on a job again, just like old times" she said and we shook our heads again but she just stroke her finger down Five's cheek.

"Why don't you try and get a husband of your own instead of flirting with mine or touching him like that" I said and she smiled before stepping back.

"In exchange for the assassination of the board, I'm willing to get you two and your family Five, out of this timeline and back to 2019 where you belong" The Handler said as she walked past us and we both turned around to look at her.

"And what about World War III that's due to kick off in just a few days?" he asked "Once you two, and your siblings are gone, that goes away" The Handler said "And the apocalypse when we get back in 2019?" I asked.

"That too" The Handler said "We distinctly remember you telling us that that apocalypse had to happen, that was supposed to happen" I said "Back when I was toeing the company line" The Handler said before walking to Five's side and she stopped behind him and I before leaning in "But once I'm in charge..." she said before tapping her shoe on the floor while she mimicked a jazz rhythm again as she put her body closer to Five and she leaned her body up against him as she put her mouth right next to his left ear "We can riff..." she whispered.

"Jazz" he whispered, cutting her off "Exactly" The Handler said "Okay, step away from my husband or I will stab you with your own heels" I said and The Handler rolled her eyes as she walked around so she was in front of us before putting her hands in her pockets.

We took a step back before we turned around and took some steps forwards while Five put his fingers through his hair in distress.

"What about the board of directors, hmm?" I asked as we turned around to look at her "I mean, nobody knows who they are" Five said as he put his left hand out before dropping it at his side.

"Correct. But once every fiscal quarter, they get together for a board meeting" she said "Where?" we asked.

"The question is when. They meet somewhere in the timeline but never in the same place twice. The exact location and date of these board meetings is the most closely-guarded secret in The Commission" she said and Five started pacing as he walked over to a table while I took a deep breath.

"But you know where it's gonna be, don't you?" I asked and Five looked at her "Would I be any good at what I do if I didn't?" she asked with a smile as she took a couple of steps towards us while she put her arms out to the side.

Five and I crossed our arms over our chest as we both leaned our back against a table while looking at her.

We glanced at each other before we nodded "We need time to think about it" Five said "We need to discuss it, Five and I. We aren't making a decision like this without agreeing" I said "Fine" The Handler said and Five grabbed my hand before we started walking away "But remember, doomsday's right around the corner, and the way things are going, I'm your two only option" she said and Five stopped before he let out a softly scoffs "Not yet you aren't" Five said.

"Oh and Y/n---" but she didn't reach to say anything as Five blink us away.

Five blinked us onto a sidewalk "So what do we do now?" I asked "I don't know, I have to find a way to speak to my dad" Five said "Well, you should know that no matter what you decide to do, I'm with you every step of the way" I said as I put his face in my hands "It's you and me, today, tomorrow, forever and a day" I said "You and me, today, tomorrow, forever and a day" he repeated and we smiled.

But then his eyes widened "You're bleeding" he said and I looked down "Not there" Five said and I looked back up at him "There" he said as he pointed on my nose.

I put two fingers under my nose before removing them to see some drops of blood "Oh, it's nothing. It's probably after Lila kicked me" I said "It is something" he said before he grabbed my hand and almost pushed me down onto a bench before he sat down next to me.

"Fivey, it's not a big deal" I said "Yes it is" he said before he pulled up a napskin from his blazer pocket.

He then lifted it up before he gently and slowly wipe the blood off "You know that I can do it myself. You don't have to get all worried when you see blood on me" I said "I know. But you are my wife and I want to take care of you, just like I did in the apocalypse" Five said "As far as I recall, I also took care of your ass in the apocalypse" I said "I took more care of you" he said "I don't think that. I will say that I took more care of you" I said "This communication will take hours before one of us give in to which one took more care of the other in the apocalypse" he said and I smiled.

"Do you think your dad can help us?" I asked "Well, I hope, cause I think he knows more than he show. He did know about the whole apocalypse thing the first time" he said "I hope you are right" I said "I hope that too" he said as he removed the napkin when he had gotten all the blood off.

"Honey" I said "Hmm" he said as he looked at me "Black car, six o'clock" I said and he turned around to see a black car behind him opened its door.

An older man stepped out of the car before walking towards them which cause Five to put his hand out in front of me, and while he stared at the man, he got up.

The old man stopped in front of us, looking between the two of us before he moved his hand inside the inner pocket of his jacket.

The man took out an envelope and handed it to Five before he turned around and walked back to the car, getting in and closed the door before driving away.

"Okay, that was not creepy or weird at all" I said sarcastically as I stood up while Five opened the envelope "What is it?" I asked "It's a letter" Five answered "What does it say?" I asked before I leaned over his shoulder to see what it said.

'To my Persures: I, Reginald Hargreeves, request the pleasure of your company for the light supper on the twentieth of November, nineteen sixty-three, at half past seven o'clock. Sixteen twenty-four Magnolia Street, Dallas, Texas'

We both shared a look "Seem like you have found a way to talk to your dad" I said and he nodded "Let's go" he said "Are sure that I shall go with you, I could also stay at Elliott" I said "Y/n, you are my wife. We are part of each other. It's you and me. Beside you are also one of his 'Persures' so it only make sense that you come too" he said "Yeah, you are right, beside I think is time to finally meet my father-in-law even so I don't want to" I said "Yeah, my dad is actually the only one in my family I don't really care if you meet or not" he said "But if you are saying that he might help us get out of here. I better be there too" I said "Let's go" Five said "Okay, but I need to leave my walkman at Elliott's, just in case" I said and Five nodded before he grabbed my hand.

After had left my walkman at Elliott's. Five and I arrived at the adresse before we stopped in front of a tall building and we both looked up at it.

"Is this it?" I asked and Five pulled up the piece of paper from his pocket before he unfolded it and looked down at it.

"'Sixteen twenty-four Magnolia Street'. It is here" he said "Alright, come on" I said before we walked to the building.

We walked next to each other as we pushed the two doors opened before we entered.

Five put his hands in his pockets as we both walked up the stairs before we walked towards the elevator.

He took a deep breath as he press the button on the elevator "You ready to see him?" I asked "No" he answered before the elevator dings and the door opened before we enter "But I guess I have to be ready" he said.

Five glanced at the buttons before clicking on the right one while I took a deep breath "You nervous?" he asked "No. Why wouldn I be?" I asked "Cause you are meeting your father-in-law for the first time" he said as he put his hands in his pockets before he let out a sigh "Don't worry Love. I will make sure he don't say something bad to you" Five said "I can handle it. My biological dad is an asshole, so I'm used to dealing with assholes" I said "Well, my dad is worse than an asshole" Five said.

Just as the elevator door was about to close, someone put their hand in between the doors, causing them to open and we looked up while we furrowed our brows.

"Wait up" Diego said as the door opened and he stepped into the elevator.

Then approaching footsteps was heard and they got louder as someone came around the corner.

"Hold it" Allison said as she entered the elevator before Klaus came around from an opposite corner and he stumbled slightly as he walked into the elevator "Hey, everyone" he said as Vanya walked in after him as he stood in between Diego and Allison.

I could now assume that Five wasn't the only one that have gotten the letter.

Luther then came in last, going in between Vanya and Five "Excuse me" he sid as he stepped into the elevator.

"Good. We're all here" Five said and the elevator dings before the door closed.

Silence filled the elevator as they were all waiting for it to stop on the right floor.

The elevator ding each time it passed a floor.

Luther was looking up before he let out a softly grunt.

Then everyone scrunched our faces slightly as we smell something disgusting.

"What the hell is that smell?" I asked as my eyes twitched while I was sniffing as I was looking around, trying to find out what small so bad.

Klaus tilted his head and Diego was looking down, trying not to laugh as Vanya looked off to the side.

"Oh..." Allison said before she covered her nose with her shirt while everyone started to make a weird face.

"Oof" Five and Vanya said "Luther" Klaus said while I lifted my arm and buried my nose into my elbow.

That smell awful.

"Sorry, I'm nervous" Luther said "Oh...Luther, that smells amazing" Klaus said.

The elevator dings and as soon as the door opened, I rushed out of the elevator with Five and Vanya right behind me and Allison followed after us, still covering her nose.

"Nasty" Five said, shaking his head "I'm choking" Allison said "I'm never getting into an elevator with you again Luther" I said "None of that" Klaus said as he, Diego and Luther walked out of the elevator and they could hear island music play softly over the speakers.

When we walked out, we saw the room we entered was huge. The walls was decorated and there was four tables, one of them in the middle of the room.

"All right, when Dad gets here, I'll do the talking, okay?" Five said as we all walked over to the table in the middle of the room.

I walked over to the table in the middle before stopping behind the chair that was next to the chair Five was standing behind.

I then spotted a conch standing by my seat and that 'cause me to look back to when me and my family was walking along the beach, it made me miss my family even more.

"You okay?" a voice asked and I turned to look at Five "Yeah, just miss my family" I said "Don't worry, you will see them again soon" he smiled.     

"I got a few questions for him myself" Diego said as Allison stopped next to table that was standing off to the side before she took off her cardigan.

"Hey, we don't wanna scare him off. He might be able to help us stop doomsday, get us home" Five said as Diego, Vanya and Luther walked around the table while Allison stayed back at the table she had stopped at as Klaus was getting a drink from the bar.

"No Five, we need to figure out why he's planning to kill the president" Diego said "This is a matter of life and death, you imbecile" Five said "Okay, yeah, maybe we should take turns talking. Yeah?" Vanya said before she picked up a shell from a table that was standing on the side. "Here, whoever has got this conch shell gets to talk" she said "Vanya, we don't have time for a debate, okay?" Five said "Maybe I should lead" Allison said as she grabbed the shell from Vanya "We all know I'm better public speaker than the rest of you" she said.

"Okay, Daddy's girl" Diego said "Oh, jealous, Number Two?" Allison asked "Hey, no more numbers. No more bullshit. We're Team Zero. We're all Team Zero" Diego said "Zero is a number Diego, you idiot" I said

"Uh, Diego. We don't have a conch" Luther said and Diego put his finger up, nodding and he smiled fakely at Luther before he grabbed the shell from Allison and turned around, throwing it at a wall causing it to shatter "Classic" Allison said.

I looked around the place before letting out a sigh "You okay?" Five asked "Yeah, it's just this place remind of a restaurant I was in with my family and that made me miss them even more" I said "Don't worry, you will see them soon again, I promise" Five said.

Then suddenly the door behind Five, Diego and I opened causing everyone to look at the door to see Reginald enter the room quickly with a notebook in his hand.

Reginald walked past Five to the other side of the table.

He then sat down and the others all took a seat at the table. I took a seat next to Five.

FIVE'S POV.

"Not only have you burglarized my lab" Reginald said as he fixed the end of his blazer and shirt sleeves "Set my chimp loose, conned your way into Mexican consulate, repeatedly stalked and attacked me, but you have, on numerous occasions, called me..." he said but got cut off when Klaus moved his chair that was between Reginald and Diego, drawing everyone's attention.

Klaus sat down as he grunted softly before he looked at Reginald "Hey, Pop. How's it hanging?" he asked as he was holding a drink in his hand.

"....'Dad'" Reginald finished glancing at Klaus while I glanced between Klaus and Reginald "My reconnaissance tells me you're not CIA, not KGB, certainly not MI5, so...who are you?" Reginald asked.

Everyone but Y/n wanted to say something but didn't knew how to say it.

"We're your children" I started causing Reginald to look at him "Except me" Y/n said "We're from the future. In 1989, you adopted us all and trained us to fight against the end of the world" I said and Reginald glanced at each of us "Called us the Umbrella Academy" I said.

"Why on earth would I adopt six--" "Seven" Allison said, cutting Reginald off "One of us isn't here" she said "Dead. One of us is dead" Diego said.

"Yeah, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba" Klaus said as he was moving his fingers together while he put his hand up before he turned around in his chair "Enough of that now" Klaus said to the air behind him causing Reginald to look confused at him and Klaus looked at him before he waved for them to continue.

"Regardless, what would possess me to adopt seven ill-mannered malcontent?" Reginald asked "We all have special abilities" I said as I leaned forward a bit.

"Special? In what sense?" Reginald asked "In the superpower sense" Luther said "Called me old-fashioned, but I'm stickler for a pesky little things called evidence" Reginald said before he looked at the others "Show me" he said.

Allison picked up her glass in front of her before she twisting the straw "Everybody wants to see powers all of a sudden" she said with a scoff.

"We're not circus animals, okay? We're not gonna bounce balls on our noses and clap our hands like seals for your amusement" Luther said.

Then while looking at Allison, Diego grabbed one of his knives before throwing it towards Luther.

The knife made a curved in mid air and flew towards Reginald before it turned, flying past his ear before changing direction again, lodging itself into a pillar making a loud metallic thud.

Klaus looked at the knife while Reginald wrote something down in his notebook causing everyone to lean forward a bit.

"What are you writing?" Diego asked "You are zero for two, young man" Reginald answered, referring to the night where he stabbed Diego.

Y/n and Allison let out a chuckled as Diego stood up from his chair and he was about to rushed towards Reginald but I blinked out of my chair before I appeared in front of Diego, putting my hands on his shoulder, stopping him "Stop" I whispered."Now that is interesting" Reginald said.

"Now that is interesting" Reginald said.

"All right, uh, quick rundown" I said before he pointed on Luther "Luther: Super strength" I said before I pointed on Klaus "Klaus can commune with the dead" I said before I pointed on Allison "Allison can rumor anyone to do anything" I said as I sat back down on my chair next to Y/n.

"Except she never used it" Diego said as he sat back down on his chair.

Allison looked up before she turned her head to Diego "I heard a rumor you punched yourself in the face" she said and an energy wave travled out of her mouth to Diego, making his eyes turn white before his fist jerked up, punching himself in the face "Nice" Y/n mumbled.

"Aah. Damn it" Diego groaned as he was leaning forward while grabbing his nose while I let out a smirked as I gestured my hand at Diego while looked at Reginald.

THIRD PERSON'S POV.

"And you?" Reginald asked as he turn to look at Y/n "She is nothing, she is ordinary" Luther said causing Y/n and Five to glanced at him "And you're half monkey" Y/n said causing Luther to sent her an angry glare.

"Yeah, I'm ordinary" Y/n said as she looked at Reginald "Not to me. Beside she is part of the family" Five said and Reginald spotted the wedding rings around Five's and Y/n's finger.

FIVE'S POV.

"What are you?" Reginald asked and Y/n and I took a quick glance at each other.

"I'm a human being" Y/n replied "I know that, but do you have any skills?" Reginald asked "Not the superpower kind. But I have survival and fighting skills" Y/n said "So you do not claim to be one of my children?" Reginald asked "No, definitely not one of your children" Y/n said "She is with me. My partner and is a member of the family now" I said.

"And you?" Reginald asked as he looked at Vanya "Uh, maybe we don't take Vanya for a test run" Luther said "Oh, yeah, that's probably not a good idea" Klaus said while moving his glass in his hand "Yeah" Luther said "It's fine. I can handle it" she said as she grabbed a fork "Handle it? Last time you handled it, you definitely blew up the moon" Allison said.

But Vanya raised her fork to tap it against her glass in front of her "No, Vanya don't" I said as everyone moved their chair back while telling her to stop.

As Vanya hit the glass with the fork making a high-pitched tone resonating.

Shit.

Five blinked over to Y/n before I wrapped my arms around her, bringing her head into my chest so my back was facing Vanya, using my own body as a shield to protect my wife as Vanya's eyes moved to the fruit basket that was standing in the middle of the table making it explode causing everyone to get fruit on their face and clothes.

Everyone let out a sigh as they started wiping the fruit from their clothes and face while Reginald started cleaning his monocle.

"This is my favorite shirt. Wow" Klaus said "Oops" Vanya said with a smile "That's impressive" Luther said while Allison grabbed her glass, switching the small umbrella out with another one.

Because I had used my own body as a shield to protect Y/n, she was the only one other than Vanya, that didn't get fruit on her.

I let go of my wife before I put my hands on my shoulders "You okay?" I asked as my eyes scanned her for a moment "I'm okay, you didn't have to do that" she said "I know" I said before I began wiping the fruit off my clothes.

I knew that I didn't have to do it, but no matter how small the situation is, I'm will always in a heartbeat used my own body as a shield to protect my wife if I have to.

Vanya's powers have went wrong before and I knew that Y/n's heart couldn't handle being hit by Vanya's powers another time. I notice how Y/n looked more pale and fatigued than us others at the theater when Vanya was holding us up in mid-air with her powers and that have something to do with her disease therefore I knew that her body probably wouldn't handle getting hit by Vanya's powers, like that again.

YOUR POV.

"Look" Diego said as he stood up, putting his hands on the table "We know that you're involved in a plot to assassinate the president" he said putting his hands on the table "You were recently hospitalized, isn't that correct? You still appear to be suffering from delusions of grandeur and acute paranoia" Reginald said "Am I?" Diego asked and he pulled out the picture they saw on the the tape on the day the president got shot.

"Explain this" he said as he put the picture on the table before pointing at it "That's you. That's two days from now, on the grassy knoll at the exact spot the president's gonna get shot" he said and Reginald picked up the picture to examined it before he looked back at Diego.

"Well...I supposed you've solved it" he said before he handed the picture back to Diego "You've single-handedly unearthed my nefarious plot" he said causing Diego to crack a small smile.

"Is that what you want to hear?" Reginald asked and Diego's face dropped "You fancy yourself a do-gooder? The last good man who will save us from our descent into corruption and conspiracy? This is a fantastic delusion. The sad reality is that you're a desperate man, tragically unaware of his own insignificance, desperately clinging to his own ineffectual reasoning" Reginald said causing Diego to sit down slowly "More succinctly, a man in over his head" Reginald said "You're wr...wrong" Diego said stuttering.

"Asshole" I mumbled while everyone looked at either Diego or Reginald in silence.

I was angry at Reginald now for humiliating Diego. I had experienced my biological dad and my teachers humiliating me, making me feel bad about myself, making me feel that I was nothing, that I would never be good enough.

So I always got angry when I witness someone humiliating another person that don't deserve it, I especially got angry if the person that was humiliated was someone I cared about.

I grabbed a fork that was laying next to me, but then someone grabbed my hand causing me to look to the right to see Five looking at me.

FIVE'S POV.

"Love" I whispered, shaking my head as I stared my wife. I wouldn't have stop my wife from going after my dad, but right now I would cause we needed Reginald alive and unharmed.

I didn't break the eye contact I had with Y/n and she knew that if she stood up, I would use my powers and blink her away from here.

YOUR POV.

"Breathe" he whispered to me and as I looked into his beautiful soft warm green eyes, I took a deep breath "There you go" he said as he slowly took the knife from me before putting it away.

I sometimes hate how he is always able to calm me down.

"I hate you" I whispered to him "No you don't" he whispered back before he took a deep breath and looked back at Reginald.

"Look, forget about the president. We have a catastrophic war coming in five days" Five said "We need to figure out how to stop it" you said "War? Men will always be at war with each other" Reginald said "No, this isn't just some war. We're talking about a doomsday. The end of the world" Five said "Well...you're the special ones, aren't you? Why don't you band together and do something about it?" Reginald said.

FIVE'S POV.

Then suddenly Klaus shot his arms up into the air while his body convulsed as he started gasping.

"Is he having a seizure?" Allison asked "Overdosing probably" Diego said, still looking down at the table "Should we do something?" Luther asked as Klaus let out shuddering grunt. "Klaus! Now is not the time. What are you doing?" I asked him "Is he okay?" Y/n asked.

Klaus then turned to Reginald as he was distorted gurgling "I'm..." he said "Out with it, boy" Reginald said "Ben" Klaus said before he let out a gasp as he fell off the chair and down on the floor, panting and shuddering.

Damn it.

"Well...Thank you for coming" Reginald said as he grabbed his notebook before standing up "I've seen about enough" he said before he turned around and stepped over Klaus "No, I..." Luther said as Reginald kept walking away.

Luther then slammed his fists down on the table before he stood up causing everyone to turn to him. He then ripe his shirt off to revealed his ape like body "Look at what you did to me" Luther said and Reginald looked at him "Look at it!" Luther shouted while Allison tried not to laugh.

"Oh, shit. Why?" I said as I leaned back back in my chair "Not the worst family dinner I have experienced" Y/n said.

I found this extremely difficult to have a civil and grow-up conversation with my father. Maybe I should have just talk to dad alone.

Reginald then looked at me "You in the culottes" he said as he pointed at me and I looked at him "And your wife" Reginald said as he pointed at Y/n "A word, in private?" Reginald said before he turned around and walked towards the door.

YOUR POV.

"Come on Love" Five said as he walked after Reginald "Yeah, one sec" I said before I walked over to the siblings.

"Listen, Five cares about all of you, more than you can imagine, and I know that you all think that he hates you, but he doesn't. You are the most important people in the word to him. So can you just show him some gratitude and respects" I said before I turned around and after Five and Reginald.

"Well, that went well" I said sarcastically as I walk up next to Five "My siblings made it a shit show. As usual. I don't know why I expected them to do this one thing" he annoying "Don't be so hard on them, your dad is giving you another chance to explain yourself, so that's a plus right?" I said but Five didn't answer as he just nodded.

"I assume you two must be wondering why I have requested a moment alone with you two?" Reginald asked as the three of us was sitting by the bar while island music was playing over the speakers.

I was sitting next to Five on his right side while Reginald was sitting on his left.

"You two both seems to be the sensible of the bunch" Reginald said.

"That's because we are the oldest" I said causing Reginald to look confused at us "You know, technically, we're older than you right now" Five said.

"Cognac?" Reginald asked Five and I as a guy behind the bar gave us a glass each "Just a smidge" Five said with a small smile.

"How did you knew that Five and I are married?" I asked "Well, the way you two were glancing at each other, the way you sit close to each other. And you have the same wedding rings on your finger" Reginald said and we took a quick look down at our wedding rings that was around our finger.

"So do you two care to tell me why you have been searching high and low to talk to me?" Reginald asked "Because we need your help" Five said.

"So that's why you two were in one of my offices" Reginald said "How do you know?" I asked "I saw you two almost do it on one of my desk in one of my work rooms" he said and our faces turned red in embarrassment "I saw it in one of my security camera that was filming that room. I checked it to see who had broken into the building and then I saw you two" he said "Well, that is not creepy and awkward" I said sarcastically.

FIVE'S POV.

"Well, anyway, the other night, you quoted Homer at me" Reginald said as he was looking at me "Why?" he asked "You forced us all to learn it as kids. In the original Greek, no less" I said and Reginald nodded before he poured down some alcohol into his, Y/n's and mine glass.

"Alright" Reginald before he lifted up his glass in a cheering motion and we nodded as we did the same before the three of us took a sip.

"Mmm" Y/n and I said as we took a sip.

"This world ends in five days if we don't get out of the timeline" Y/n said "Worlds end. Paleozoic, Jurassic, and so on" Reginald said "We can do something about this one" I said "Man's greatest flaw: The illusion of control" Reginald said.

"My husband and I need your help. All right?" Y/n said "You're our last sane option. Otherwise, we gotta make a deal that we really don't wanna make" I said  "Well, apparently, you're only option left. We can stop this disaster if we exit the timeline" Y/n said and Reginald nodded, like he gestured for her to continue "Do you know anything about time travel or how to get out of a timline?" she asked "Aren't you from the future? Haven't you done this already?" he asked "We got here by another method. So what do you know about time travel?" she asked.

"In theory?" Reginald asked "In practice" I said "I know it's akin to descending blindly into the depths of freezing waters and reappearing--" "As an acorn. Yeah" I said, cutting Reginald off, while I remember what he said to me that day I ran away.

"What transpired when you tried traveling before?" Reginald asked "I botched it" I said "How?" Reginald asked "The first time he jumped too far forward, got stuck in the future for 45 years in an apocalypse with me" Y/n started "Then I jumped too far backwards...except this time I brought my entire family with me" I finished "And scattered them across the 60s" Y/n said.

"Maybe you appetite is disproportionate to the size of your abilities. Start small. Seconds, not decades" Reginald said as he looked at me "Seconds?" Y/n and I "Mmm" Reginald said with a nod.

"Look, no offense, but we need a bit more time for what we're trying to accomplish" I said "So much can change in a matter of seconds. One could overthrow an empire. One can changed your life forever. One could fall in love. One could take a life. One could save a life, or more lives. One could stop an apocalypse. One could fall in love" Reginald said causing Y/n and I to glanced at each other quickly since that is what happen to us.

We both then looked back at Reginald.

"An acorn doesn't become an oak overnight" he said "We were really hoping you had more than that" I said "I'm sorry I can't be of more help" Reginald said "I'm sorry too. I gave you such a hard time as a kid. I didn't know any better" I said "No skin off my teeth old man" Reginald said before he lifted his glass.

"Alright then, thank you for your time. We better go" Y/n said and I nodded before we jumped off our chairs.

"Can I give you some advice, boy?" Reginald asked and I stopped before I turned to look at Y/n "I will be waiting by the elevator" she said and I nodded before she walked towards the elevator.

I then turned to Reginald "Relationship is nothing without honesty" Reginald said "What is that supposed to mean?" I asked "It means that if you are keeping a huge secret from your wife but is afraid to tell her because you are scared of how she will react, you better tell her, cause if she don't hear it from you, she will probably find it out in another way and it will only be worst if she found out herself than you tell her, it will ruin the marriage. So whatever it is your keeping from her, you better tell her soon, or you will regret it" Reginald said before he walked away while I narrowed my eyes at Reginald, wondering how he could know that.

YOUR POV.

"Well, that was a disaster. My siblings made a complete fool of themselves and the old man can't help about time-traveling" Five said.

"I really hoped that there was another way" I said "There isn't" he said as we arrived at a motel room and Five knocked on a green set of double doors.

I really don't wanted to be part of this, and I just wanted to go back to Elliott's place but Five was able to convince me to come. Saying that we did things together.

It didn't take long before The Handler opened the door and she smiled when she saw Five and I.

"Ah! Just in time for a nightcap" she said and we walked into the room before Five closed the door as the sound of cocktail shaker sloshing was heard.

The sound of lip pops open and liquid being poured was heard as we glanced around the room.

The Handler put a cigarette in between her teeth before she offer a glass of wine to us but we didn't take it.

"To be clear, we take out the board" Five started "You get us and Five's family home. No more doomsday, no more apocalypse" I said "And Y/n and I can live a wonderful, happy, long and peaceful life with each other. Is that correct?" Five asked "That's the deal" The Handler said as she sat down on the bed and we glanced at each other.

I wanted nothing more than getting back home, so I could finally see my whole family again. Even so I was so tired of fighting and killing and just wanted to retire cause I could feel that my heart needed rest now.

I had to take the deal. If this was the only way to get back, I had to take it and I knew that Five wanted to take the deal too. He wanted to save the world and his family. He wanted nothing more than to back to 2019, and meet my whole family for the first time and then we wanted to live that life we always talked about when we were in the apocalypse.

We sent each other a nod before we looked back at The Handler "Then we're in" Five said and The Handler lifted up a small piece of paper.

I stepped forward before taking the paper from her and I unfolded it before Five and I looked at it to see the place and date the meeting will be.
