18; Red or Maroon?

Everybody cheer because I updated lol. I'm on summer break so I'm pretty excited about that, school is so lame.

It was Saturday morning, which was usually saved for shopping days with Jenna, Aubrey and Layla. So of course, that's what we did. Ben was hanging out with Brayden today, which probably consisted of eating pizza and playing video games - you know, the usual.

I wore just a simply outfit and brought along my money so I could invest in new clothes. I should probably buy a new bra while I'm at it too, considering that my lazy bra was recently stolen from me. I debated on telling The girls the interesting story that occurred, but I soon decided against it.

We piled into Jenna's car and started to the biggest mall in Maine, which wasn't very large if you compared it to a mall in New York. Either way, the mall was only 30 minutes away, which wasn't that long at all.  Jenna was determined to get new lingerie since her relationship with Tyler  started to get frisky, unlike me, she was ready to lose her virginity so quick it was unbelievable.

Aubrey on the other hand, didn't care. She mostly came along for the ride, just so she could supervise what we purchased and maybe purchase a few things on the way as well. She definitely wasn't the money spender of the group. And Layla? Well, apparently she was too busy watching grays  anatomy - a show she had just recently got hooked on.

When we pulled into the parking lot of the mall, we all climbed out and heading inside, Jenna headed straight for Victoria' Secret - which honestly didn't surprise me in the slightest.

Surprisingly the store wasn't packed today, which seemed weird since it was a Saturday. There were seas of bras and panties everywhere and I found myself liking the majority of them. I even started to think if I should get myself a few new items. My top drawer was already filled with lingerie from here, but I decided that maybe it was time for some new ones - despite the little amount of money I had.

"What about this bra? Isn't it hot?!" Jenna said loudly as she held up a a black bra made out of lace material. It did look cute, and since Tyler wore black most of the time I nodded my head in agreement. Aubrey nodded too after letting out a little snort of amusement.

"What's Colton's favorite color?" Jenna chimed, winking in my direction and smirking. I rolled my eyes as my cheeks turned a shade of pink, unable to answer.

"Blue, but not a dark blue" I exclaimed, remembering what he had told me on our date a week ago.

"So, like this?" Aubrey said from behind me. I twirled around to see her holding up a matching bra and panties set that was a light blue, lace fringe and sparkling tiny jewels. I had to admit, it was unmistakably gorgeous and it didn't look like a little kids bra - despite what it sounds like.  I stared at it for a few moments, debating on if I really needed it.

A part of me was screaming to get it, but another part was hiding in the shadows, afraid.

"Maybe later, but not right now" I said, turning my back on the gorgeous blue set. I returned my attention back to Jenna who was now considering another bra of choice, she seemed far from deciding.   I sighed and walked over to another bin, but I stopped mid-walk because I somehow spotted the devilish grin of Reagan. I froze in place, she couldn't see me.

A part of me thought that if Reagan somehow saw me, she would be able to see right through me and know I was there last night - unwillingly stalking them.

What if she already did know? Yeah, sure, she wasn't that smart, but she had some surprising moments of her own. Besides, if somehow she had found out, I was basically patiently waiting for her and her minions to pounce and rip me to shreds before I could speak.

Not good.

I recoiled backwards until I came face to face with Jenna, while keeping my other eyes focused on Reagan to make sure she stayed out of view of me.

"Are you almost done?" I asked, silently praying and hoping that she would say yes and just pay already, but she only shook her head.

"Of course not, I still have to find underwear anyways" She remarked, apparently not understanding my predicament. Aubrey was beside Jenna, helping her find a few pairs that matched her bra.

I clenched my teeth.

Kill me now.

"Jenna, can we just le-" I started to say, but it was too late.

"Elizabeth! I need your advice on something!" I heard Reagan exclaim from behind me. I froze.  She spotted me.

How did she get behind me?

I spun around, to face her and her minion - Danielle Dans. She was holding a bra, while Reagan was holding another one. What was this about?

"The other day I was hanging out with Ben and I don't know why but he wasn't interested. I think it was because of what I've been wearing. So, since you're his best friend - which one do you think he'd like more?" Reagan asked, while holding the bras up higher. This was unusual. Believe it or not, she was being nice right now. Either way I was still baffled at the question because honestly, how the fuck was I supposed to know?

"Honestly Reagan, I don't know" I remarked, trying to be nice back. But, it was very hard considering that she gave off the vibe of an evil witch.

"Can you just take a guess? I know I've been really bitchy to you before, but this means a lot to me" She said, her voice almost sounding apologetic.

I debated on answering her, since she seemed really sincere maybe I wanted to hold onto this power for a little while longer.

I studied her options closer, One was a red bra, not super bright and was filled with glamour from breast to breast. It was pretty, but I instantly knew that it was way too glamorous for what Ben would prefer. It's not like I ever asked Ben what kind of bra he likes, but after a while you just kind of learn these things unwillingly.

The other bra was maroon, kind of simple but was very lacy and thin. Although Maroon wasn't his color of choice, I knew that one was better than the red one.

"The red one" I finally settled with. Reagan smiled. Did you think I was really going to help her?

"Thank you so much Elizabeth! One day you'll have little nieces or nephews, all because of this!" She remarked before skipping off towards the cash register.

What
The
Fudge
Just
happened.

That was not normal.

Was she on drugs or something?

And nieces and nephews? Did she consider me as one of Ben's sisters or something? Ben is not marrying her and he is definitely not getting her pregnant, not for as long as I'm alive.

Once she left my sight however I let out a big breath I'd been holding in, while I was still bitterly confused as to way she had been so nice.

*+*+*+**+*+****++

The mall trip ended quicker than usual, so afterwards we headed over to Layla's to try and get her away from Netflix for a while. We needed to talk about some serious business, or that's what Aubrey had said. For some reason she hasn't been talking about Operation before 05, like she normally did - so I figured, and hoped that it would blow over.

"Layla, are you gonna get off your lazy ass or what" Jenna called as we waltzed into her house with no hesitation.

"Sorry! But no" Layla said, while seeming engrossed in the episode that was currently. I grabbed the remote and shut it off, looking at her strictly. Layla screamed as soon as the tv went black, desperately scrambling for the remote I held in my hand.

"Turn it back on!!! No!" She screamed louder.

"Layla, SHUT UP" Aubrey screamed.

"Can we just have a girls night, with us all together?" Jenna pleaded. Layla rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, watching Grey's anatomy" She concluded. Aubrey threw up her arms in protest, while Jenna and I groaned.

"No, we're going to your room to hang out" I said unconvincingly. Layla sighed in defeat and started walking down the hallway towards her room. As soon as I walked in I remembered how much of a redo it needed. From peace signs hung up on her wall to a poster of puppies and turtles. Her rooms been like this for as long as I can remember, which has been a very long time. She's never got around to fixing it, and sometimes I wondered why - but other times I liked the chill vibe it created.

"Now, straight to business. You have to talk to Ben soon" Aubrey said strictly at Layla. Layla rolled her eyes and looked at her like a little girl.

"Seriously? Is this what you wanted to bug me about?" She asked with a huff. She wrapped her arms around her chest and frowned.

"Of course! All of us are talking to our crush, now you have to" Aubrey said.

"Yeah Layla. I'm talking to Tyler, Libby has Colton, and Aubrey has been texting Alex for a while now." Jenna announced.

"I literally can't talk to him because he doesn't fucking like me. Okay? Not to mention I start to sweat even If see him" Layla said, a frown slowly forming on her lips.

"You have to at least have some confidence, why don't you text him?" Aubrey suggested. I started to frown, to start to grow uncomfortable. Literally, We just saw Reagan at the mall and she would kill Layla if she found out her efforts to talk with Ben. The whole plan was a recipe for disaster, but somehow I didn't have the power with in me to tell them.

I didn't want to shoot Layla down, and I wanted to be her friend - to make her feel confident and encourage her to go out of her comfort zone. But this was different, it was like I was stuck between two options - two choices - one was to support her, and another was to tell her what she didn't want to hear.

"I've never talked to him before, I can't just randomly text him out of the blue" She rationalized.

"Well, you can't say you've never talked to him. Remember that one time when I had a pool party?" I said, chipping in to make her feel more confident.

"That was in 9th grade, and I bumped into him which resulted in him falling in the pool with his clothes on. The only thing I said was a messily "I'm sorry"" Layla said, a doubtful expression on her makeup less face.

Oops, I forgot about that part.

"What about the time Elizabeth had us all over and we made banana smoothies and jumped on her trampoline?" Jenna exclaimed.

"That was 8th grade and you pulled my pants down, don't you remember? He laughed at me because I was wearing spongebob underwear" Layla said with an angry tone, her eyes suddenly filling with hatred. She directed it at Jenna, and Jenna's face suddenly grew red.

"Layla, calm down. Just text him. All of that stuff happened years ago" Aubrey said, she grabbed Layla's shoulder and looked her straight in the eyes. Layla calmed down.

"I would if I had his number, but I don't. So, I can't" She said, trying her best to find an excuse.

      Aubrey laughed.

"Well obviously Elizabeth has his number. You're texting him. It's final" Aubrey said. Layla looked like she wanted to die, right before she fell backwards with a sobbing groan.
