Chapter Nine

Soleil's POV

I was still wearing my home wear, holding two of the sweaters in each of my hands and comparing the color I should put on me later. One was a light blue round neck sweater and one was a white turtle neck sweater.

I sighed at the reflection of myself through the mirror and I dropped the sweaters at the foot of my bed. I always had a decision-making disorder whenever I had to choose something. That was part of it I either would wear plain color or dark color clothing.

"Knock knock," I heard Lotte's lazy voice muffled outside of my room with two knocks on my door.

"Come on in," I responded as the door opened wide followed by Lotte was wearing her 10 years old Hard Rock shirt. You could tell how old was the shirt. I gifted that shirt to her on her birthday when we were having our family trip to Manila.

Since I gave Lotte the Hard Rock t-shirt for the first time, she would want me to get any hard rock t-shirt whenever we travel and I already gifted her the 10th Hard Rock shirt. But she seemed like loved this one the most. She wore this more frequently compared to the others until we asked her to throw it away but she insisted to keep it.

She already sat on the foot of the bed as she glanced down the clothes in between us and chuckled, "So, you'll go to attend a funeral or meet a client?"

I scoffed at her blunt question and explained, "I'll go out for a sundae." I quickly added, "Alone."

Lotte turned to me as she smirked with indicated my home wear on me, "Then just go down with this since the sundae shop right opposite our condo."

Well, she wasn't wrong if I only go to the nearby shop which is more like a convenience store. But, the sundae shop I would go to with Kimora was in another town which was 30 minutes away by driving. Also, it was a little fancy and a good place for taking photos, but I wouldn't take my baby since Kimora was photogenic in any gadget. My mobile would work.

"You're having a wet dream, huh?"

I hit Lotte's upper arm after I heard her inside joke as she laughed out loud. "I should record that face just now. Seriously, Sunshine." she finally stopped her funny laughing as she asked excitedly, "Are you gonna have a date?"

"No-" I wanted to explain, but Lotte already stood up and went to the closet opened it wide as she shook her head while her back was facing me, and said lazily, "Your choice of color is hopeless."

"It's not a date, Lotte. I just go out for a sundae. Besides, I prefer white, black, or blue," I finally could explain as I shrug even though Lotte couldn't see me since her back was facing me.

"Boring," Lotte snorted as she turned to me and said, "Just like mama."

"Judgemental," I smirked, "Just like mom."

"I should record it and secretly set it to mom's phone as a ringtone," Lotte smirked smugly at me.

I grinned, "She'd believe it was a set up."

"Well well well. What's happening in here, young ladies?"

By hearing the familiar voice from the head of the house, Lotte and I looked at the doorstep as I saw mom and mama were standing at the door frame of my room.

They walked into my room as mom playfully glared at me with a finger pointed at me was a hint that they overheard our conversation.

However, mama was always chill as she played a shrug with a grin like happily waiting for popcorn and watching the drama.

That was Lotte's description whenever either of us was in a trouble.

"Judgemental, huh?" mom sat next to me as she snaked an arm around me and pinched my face while mama stood next to Lotte and they laughed together and watched us. That was what I always get after she overheard something from us.

"Technically you're," I said as mom gasped sharply with her eyes shot wide earned laughter from mama and Lotte. I yelled with laughter when mom started tickling my waist. That was what they always did whenever they attacked me.

"Mom, I haven't finished yet!" I laughed and tried to pry her hands away. "That's too late, Sunshine. I already give you a chance," Mom said while she was giggling.

"Mama, help me please!" I pleaded while I was still laughing with the ticklish.

"Okay girls, stop playing. Let's have a big breakfast," Mama said softly with a chuckle.

"I love you, mama!" Lotte cried happily and danced. In the meantime, the pillow hit on mom's face from nowhere when I was distracted.

"What the hell! Who did this?" Mom exclaimed as she finally stopped attacking me. She gently held me like afraid I fell while Lotte was suppressing her laughter and mama was smiling calmly.

"I'm gonna have mama's masterpiece big breakfast. Bye ladies!" Lotte said as she sprinted out from my room.

"Come back here, Charlotte Newton!" mom whined as she turned to me she tapped my nose, and said sternly, "I'm not done with you yet. You'll be next after that monkey girl."

I chuckled by knowing she was messing with us and she walked out from my room and soon I heard Lotte yelped outside of my room. "Ow! My head. I'm not an Iron Man, mom!"

Mama and I laughed as she stretched her hand to me. I grinned and took her hand for her to pull me on my feet, and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, "Thank you for saving me, mama." she wrapped an arm around my shoulder and chuckled, "That's our little secret." with that, we went out and joined the hyper pair for our breakfast.

🔆🔆🔆

After breakfast and movies with my family, I decided to take a rest in my bedroom before getting ready. If only my family had already gone out, I might stick at my front door check the door hole while waiting for the honey dip blonde to come out from her house.

Since Kimora never saw me wear another color aside from black and white, including my flannel shirt, I chose a baby blue sweater for me, a pair of black skinny jeans, and my matching boots. One hour of waiting was killing me. I was hoping the time would be faster than I thought but every minute seem like an hour for me. I had the urge to text Kimora but I didn't.

It was her sundae break and I shouldn't pressure her, right?

I'd wait at least a few minutes earlier outside of my home before she came out. I checked the time on my watch again it was about 2.50 and I knew it was time for me to go out for a spare time for me to put on my boots before I waited for her.

I took my favorite perfume spray on me before putting my mini purse into my jeans pocket, car key, and keeping my mobile on hand. In the meantime, I took my mobile from the dresser, I heard a beep along with a jolt in my palm. I read the message was from Kimora and I chuckled at it.

"Should I remind you that you'll gonna take me for a sundae break, Sunshine?"

"I always keep my promise, Kimmy. I'll see you at the front door by 3 pm."

"Perfect. I'll see you soon."

"Later."

I gasped when I check again it was around 2.55 pm. I briskly walked to the front door, grabbed a pair of my favorite boots from the shoe rack, and quickly bid goodbye to my mothers and Lotte before they could ask any funny question. Mom and Lotte were staring at me with full of curiosity, and mama only waved at me with a happy smile.

Mama would never ask or push me, but I would always share most of my things with her. I didn't mean dislike to share my matters with Lotte and mom because they were overprotective to me. Mama would always be calm and patiently listened to the full stories of me. After that, she would sit down with all of us and explained my full story to mom and Lotte before they would counter the people.

With that, I quickly closed the front door and took a stool, and sat on it for me to put the boots on my feet. Right after I put on my leather boots in my long time, I stood up and the door across from me opened. I couldn't help but grinned and expected the person was the lovely honey dip blonde.

Somehow, it was out of my expectations. I smiled at Keira and Ophelia and greeted them as Ophelia grinned at me, "Have fun," it took me a few seconds and I finally get what she meant and I smiled in return, "Thank you, have a nice day."

They waved at me before they left and a beep from the door opened again, and I finally could see Kimora.

I smiled at her lovely face. Her outfit was relaxed and perfect on her. She was wearing her pink sweater, faded denim jeans, a pair of light brown ankle leather boots. She was captivating for me and I always couldn't take my eyes off her whenever she appeared right in front of me. Especially, her smile.

"Nice hair. I like them down freely and so natural." She was smiling sweetly at me with her gleaming green eyes and added, "You're cute in blue."

"Thank you. I like you in Pink, it looks good on you," I smiled but I felt my face already heated and I hope she wouldn't see me blushing even though I had light tan skin but, the evidence of blushing was still visible. That was what I had from mama.

"Shall we go now?" Kimora asked nicely remained her sweet smile as I nodded my head and gestured her to start walking before me. She walked closer to me, entwined her arms with mine, and said, "That's better."

I couldn't help but smile at her sweet gesture, we started leaving and be ready to drive to the sundae cafe.

It didn't take more than 20 minutes for us to arrive at the destination. We already engaged in a great conversation but we have to stop to get ice cream before we continue.

We could spend all of the time talking in the car if we want. It was enjoyable to listen to Kimara share about her works, high school time and I learned that she was champion badminton in her high school. Also, she joked that she was a little proud of her little achievement there.

I pulled up my car to the nearest parking lot of the cafe with a brown bear logo on the roof and this place seemed was not crowded as I thought. Most of the time newly open cafes would be crowded. Perhaps, it already passed a week, and the people had already moved on.

"Stay here," I said as I turned off my car engine as Kimora chuckled softly and obediently stayed still. I smiled at her cuteness and I quickly got off my car, jogged to the passenger side opened the door for her.

Kimora stretched her hand toward me with a wide grin as I chuckled and took her hand helped her get off the car and we entered the sundae cafe hand in hand.

Once we entered the cafe, I was grateful the place was not crowded and only a few tables for the family with kids. Each table would have a giant teddy bear occupying a seat in a different color. There had brown, white, and any color related to the rainbow. The wall and furniture were yellow and brown as the theme color included the crews in the cafe. They had a yellow cap with a brown bear logo on the brim of the cap, a white shirt, brown pants, and an apron.

Somehow, this place was a little disappointing with the matching color. it was totally different from what I saw from the research. Right, I couldn't blame the brightness while we were shooting. The colors' brightness would be different.

Aside from the weird color matching, I hope the taste of ice cream wouldn't be disappointing since there had great reviews from the guests. They highly recommended the fruity taste of sorbet, chocolate, and matcha which were my favorite. Hopefully, Kimora would find her favorite too. I was too careless for asking her about this.

Once we reached the counter, again I was having decision disorder. If my belly could keep all the flavor I wanted, I would order all of it.

"What flavor do you want?" Kimora asked as I said truthfully, "I have no idea. All of them look delicious. Do you have any favorite?"

"I love matcha and strawberry yogurt. What about you?"

"I love matcha, any kind of fruit sorbet and chocolate. I'm glad we like matcha," I grinned because I was too happy we liked matcha which was my top favorite.

"That's great," she grinned as she hummed and suggested. "Maybe let's get matcha, strawberry yogurt, passion fruit sorbet, and any type of chocolate you like. Are you happy with that?"

"I'd love that," I agreed as she started making orders of the flavor and letting me choose my chocolate taste. I choose 75% chocolate and she was happy with the bitter taste too.

I let Kimora decide to pick a seat as she choose the table with a giant brown bear on it because she said the giant brown bear was the cutest and most normal from the other weird color of teddy bears. I gladly agreed about it because brown bears look more normal.

"I don't want to be too critical. Do you think the color matching of this place is funny?" Kimora asked with a giggle as she took a spoonful of strawberry yogurt ice cream to eat as she moaned with a satisfied smile and said, "But, their ice cream is delicious."

"You'd gonna love the matcha," I assured her after I took a spoon of ice cream.

She used her spoon to scope the matcha ice cream as she ate and her eyes shot wider and said, "It's so good. It's hard to get the real matcha ice cream."

"I did check this sundae cafe, the best selling is matcha, 75% chocolate, and strawberry flavor." I explained and added, "Aside, from the weird color design, I assume girls like a teddy bear. So, it won't be hurt to try, right?"

"So, you like a teddy bear, don't you?" she grinned at me.

"Yes, I like it. What about you?" I smiled.

She turned to the bear hummed awhile and turned to me and said, "I'm not a huge fan of a bear, but this one is not disappointed me." she grinned and said, "I'm surprised you like a teddy bear."

"I feel bad now," I said apologetically

"What's wrong?" Kimora asked curiously.

"I should have to ask you before I take you here. Because there have other places for you to choose." I explained.

"You're silly," Kimora chuckled and said, "I'm happy you take me here, I love the ice cream and I'd come here again. I don't really care about the environment and," she trailed off and patted the giant bear's arm and said, "I didn't anti teddy bear. It's cute."

"But, you're the cutest among the bears, Kimmy Bear," I jested with a chuckle.

"Hey, that's not nice to call your lovely friend like that," Kimora said with a gasp like she get offended.

"Kimmy bear sounds cute and nice," I grinned.

"Yea, fine. I give up, Sun Baby," Kimora smirked.

I laughed and said, "That was what my elementary school friends call me because my name was a Sun and we watched Teletubbies together."

"That sun is so cute. Her smile is just like yours. Bright and shiny," Kimora said with a light squeal as she continue to eat the ice cream and I took the passion fruit and ate.

"Your smile is beautiful," I blurted and I knew I was too late to swallow whatever escaped from my lips. I mentally cringed to myself even though I had told her that in texting as a compliment before, but I said it again was a little too soon, right?

I didn't dare to see her and I let my face down on the sundae pretending I was busy eating the ice cream. In the meantime, I realize she was using her left hand to hold her spoon, and she probably was left-handed. Interesting.

Somehow, asking whether she was a left-handed person was a stupid question. So, I skipped and remember about this from now on. Kimora put the spoon down on the saucer as she took her phone with her left hand, tapping the screen of the phone with her right hand. She actually did the same as the right-handed people. I grew so much curiosity about this, and I assumed the left-handed person would only do their handwriting or take the silverware opposite from us.

"Would you charge me if I ask you to take a picture for me?" Kimora asked as I quickly shifted my attention to her and shook my head and smiled in return, "No, all free."

Kimora giggled as she stretched her mobile to me and said, "I won't ask too much for this. Just one is enough."

I saw there had a tiny dot of cream on the left corner of her lips, I took a napkin as I gently cleaned it off from her lips and said, "Just one is perfect."

I folded the napkin put it aside as I took her phone from her and she sided hug the giant teddy. I took an angle of a shot and returned to her.

She saw the picture and grinned, "You did a great shot. It's so much better than I selfie. She smiled sweetly and asked, "Can you come over, please?"

"Sure," I stood up and joined her as I was stunned a little when she leaned in closer to me and suggested, "Do you mind if I take a photo of us?"

"Never," I said with shaking my head as she grinned and stretched her left hand with a mobile further from us and searched the angle. I gently held her hand to guide the angle for her to take as her smile grew wider and I swiftly pressed the button for taking a picture of us.

"I'm not ready!" Kimora whined as I chuckled and asked, "Do you wanna take another shot again?"

"Yup, and wait until I tell you that I'm ready." she commanded.

My hand still holding hers on the mobile as I smiled at the phone reflecting Kimora was busy tidying up the lock of her hair and said with a wide smile, "I'm ready." with that, I pressed the button and we finally took it.

I wanna hold her hand but I knew I should let it go, and I eventually slipped away from hers and rested both of my hands on my lap.

"Let's take a cute one," Kimora giggled as she raised her phone again as I burst out laughing, "I'm not Sun Baby anymore." the screen was showing both of us covered with the sun around our face and exactly like Sun Baby from Teletubbies.

Then she changed to the bear face for us and we were laughing and I played silly face on the screen earned another laughter from Kimora and she did the same.

After we took a few shots of the funny pictures, we were still panting after too much laughter.

"It's so much fun hanging out with you, Sun Baby. It's my turn to choose the place for us to next hang out," she turned to me and asked, "What do you like to do?"

"Eat, movies, and walked at the park. What about you?" I said.

"That's it? I don't think walking at the park as a hang-out would be fun," she said with slightly furrowed brows but adorable.

"Why not?" I asked and I looked into her eyes.

"Seriously, I don't think I could catch my breath while we're talking and walking."

"Are you sure about that, the champion badminton?"

"That was like 7 years ago. I don't think I could be as hyper as that time."

"We don't have to walk, just have a nice snack and any food on a bench."

"I would suggest getting bagels, blue cheese, and red wine," she said giddily with a wide grin.

"That sounds good. What if I added pizza for us?" I suggested.

"Perfect. So, when would be our next hang out?" she asked as I was surprised she take it seriously.

"What about Wednesday? Would that be too soon for you? I know you'll be busy on Monday since it's always the horrible day of the week."

"Don't remind me, please," Kimora snorted with rolled her eyes.

"My bad. Which date do you prefer?"

"Wednesday evening after work is just nice for me."

"That's great. And you haven't told me what do you like to do, Kimmy Bear."

She gently slapped my upper arm and chuckled, "That's a lot!"

"That's good. We'll have more plans for us. You can suggest to me while we are having our next hang out." I suggested.

"Perfect!" she flashed a cute grin at me.

🔆🔆🔆

We finally returned to our condominium and it was only 7 pm. No matter how much I wanted to keep her and spend a longer time with her, I insisted we return home earlier since she had to wake up early for work tomorrow.

We were still holding our hands and finally reached our unit and was time for us to bid goodbye.

"Thanks for the sundae, Sun Baby."

"It's my pleasure, Kimmy Bear."

"Good night," Kimora smiled softly as she used a free hand to pull me into an embrace, and whispered, "Don't forget about pizza for us on Wednesday."

"Yes, pepperoni pizza, thin crust, and extra cheese," I mimicked her tone as she burst out laughing and gently hit my back and said, "You're funny and sweet."

We pulled away and I said, "I've never heard those compliments before. You're the first one."

"That's a good thing, right? I enjoy hanging out with you and it was so much fun to hear your story tell."

"I'm glad I didn't make you bored. I like yours too. We can talk more when we see each other again."

"Well, that will be only after two days," Kimora said as she bit her lower lips with a contain smile.

"Good evening, ladies!"

Our conversation was cut off by my only nosy and annoying sister. Lotte was still in her 10 years old hard rock shirt with shorts and a pair of slippers on her. She was grinning at us which I wanted to wipe off. I knew her big mouth would announce in the house right after she entered the door behind me.

"Hey, Charlotte!" Kimora turned to Lotte with a grin and waved at her.

Lotte grinned, "I'm sorry for my interruption. I suppose to keep quiet while you both were talking, but I need to call for nature." She turned to press the passcode and whispered, "I'm invisible. I'm invisible." Followed by the unlock sound she quickly added, "Granted! Bye!" with that, she shut the door behind me.

Kimora was laughing and said, "Your house might be full of laugher."

"I'm second-hand embarrassed by her silliness." I shook my head and none entertained Lotte's goofiness.

"That's fun. I could tell she loves you."

"She's annoying."

"It's fun to have a sister," she said as I returned a smile to her.

She exhaled softly and said, "Okay, I should go. I don't think we can stop if we keep standing here."

"I agree. Good night." I said as Kimora gave me a quick hug before turning to her front door pressed the passcode and I did the same. We smiled and I waited for her to close the door before me and I finally closed mine.

Right after I closed the door, both of my arms were already seized by the pair, mom and Lotte.

"Let's have a story tell, Sunshine." mom said as she gently pinched my cheek and my eyes darted to mama and shot her puppy eyes for saving me.

"I'm sorry, Sunshine. This time I'm on them." mama said as she chuckled and my jaw dropped and stared at her in disbelief.

Mom and Lotte already pulled me to the living room without bother I took off my boots and let myself sit on the couch.

They almost spent an hour asking me plenty of questions like a cop interrogated me.

"Why didn't you ask?" Lotte asked.

"That was our first friendly hang out, Lotte. I don't think she'd be comfortable for me to ask whether she has a boyfriend or a girlfriend? I'll take baby steps and get to know her more." I explained.

"Sunshine is right, Lotte." I was surprised mom agreed on this as she turned to me and gently patted my lap, "I wouldn't worry much about you, Sunshine. I know you're patient like mama."

"Don't take too long, Sunshine." mama advised.

"I'd wait for the right time," I assured mama as she smiled.

"Can I have triple cheese pizza now, please?" Lotte asked.

"No, you guys will have my home cook lamb shank for tonight," mom said in determination.

"No please, mom. I'll die hard soon after purging so much."

"It's safe. I tried." mama said sheepishly as mom gasped sharply, "You'll get a punishment tonight."

Lotte and I cringed at their inside jokes by seeing mama's face turn in darker because of blushing.

"I'm full now," Lotte said lazily as I nodded my head at her in agreement.

"Come on, let's have dinner," mom said as she stood up and headed to the dining room as the three of us followed behind.

A/N: I just love the nickname of Kimmy Bear! Thanks for the cute comment from the previous chapter.

Well, I hope my Friend will gonna grin at the cute theme after reading this! Haha.

Again, so sorry for my slow update. I hope it won't be getting cheesy!

The link above is Soleil's boots. I suck in describing. I would describe it as 'Dr. Martins boots' instead.

Happy reading!
