twenty six (part three)

Dress Designs in outfit book, sorry it took so long!

Also, Diana lovers, you're welcome for this.

Biana was surprised when it was found that Keefe wasn't in attendance, and shocked when Dex stepped up and pretended to be her number one. He had seen that Keefe had stood her up, and saved her from the humiliation of skipping to the fourth dance. Biana had always known Dex was good, but this good? He was good at inventing things and anything involving machinery. He was good at alchemy and supporting his friends. He was clever, loyal, kind- almost too good to be true- he did amazing things for amazing people, and he decided to save her from embarrassment... Biana felt incredibly, unbelievably, unfathomably special.

It was like something out of a fairytale when he wove through the crowd to the center of the ballroom, when he bowed, his eyes capturing hers as he stood upright and made his way over to her. The way the world stood still as his hand warmly rested on her waist, and his other taking one of hers along with something else she couldn't explain... her breath? Her heart? How he stumbled slightly as they began to dance was like from a dream- a really, really good dream- and how he sheepishly smiled at he when he stepped on her toes made her smile every time without fail. In these moments, she even forgot about Keefe.

"You're such a good dancer," she complimented him after everyone else started dancing as well.

Dex's face was bright red and he smiled a little, "Sorry I keep stepping on your toes, I only learned how to dance the other day."

Her eyelashes fluttered in surprise, "You only learned the other day? That's incredible! And you're doing so well."

"You don't have to say that to be nice," he said, embarrassed.

"I'm not just being nice, Dex, I'm having a lot of fun," she spoke sincerely, looking into his eyes and hoping he believed her every word.

"Really?" Dex looked at her incredulously.

"Really, so much that you better remember to come dance the sixth dance with me."

"Even if I step on your toes?"

"Dex, I wouldn't rather anyone else step on my toes," she smiled up at him dreamily. "Besides, I'd barely call it a step, once your foot just touches the top of mine you shift your weight to your heel, don't you?"

"Guilty as charged," he laughed sheepishly.

Though they didn't talk for the rest of the dance, Biana felt like a Princess. The hem of her gown skimmed the smooth ballroom floor gracefully, a feeling she loved, but that Love had been replaced when Dex's hands wrapped themselves around her waist so he could lift her into the air for a short circle in the dance like in the fairytales. Biana giggled as she looked down at him for those few seconds, admiring the details of his face hardened with concentration, which didn't go away until he set her down again. The skin where his hand left her waist and took her own hand again was cool, though she could almost feel his calluses scraping against her skin as they moved to the music. This was because when her feet were on the ground, Dex hadn't ever held her waist anything but lightly, like he was afraid to touch her. Was he nervous? Did she make Dex Dizznee nervous? She took a small step closer to him as they danced to see, and watched as his ears grew a darker red. Impulsively, she took another little step foreword so their chests were almost touching. When Dex looked down at her in surprise, she couldn't help but be enchanted by him. Her small innocent smile seemed to answer a silent question in his mind, and he smiled back.

When the music stopped and the dance was over, Dex took a few steps back and bowed, while Biana curtsied absentmindedly. She hadn't realized how warm her heart had felt during the dance until it was over, and it was cold again. She was about to say something when Rex ran up to his brother and tugged him off to see the sculpture he and his siblings had made out of some sort of goo. Dex looked distressed and hastily bid her farewell before rushing off to take care of it.

Knowing that all of the triplets would be occupied by the incident, Biana decided to go find Sophie and Fitz. She wandered the room for a few minutes before she saw them at the edge of the room near the band that played softly while everyone else mingled and ate a little food. Sophie and Fitz- or Sophitz as Biana liked to call them- were still dancing in a small waltz.

Biana was a few feet away from them when she decided that they were best left alone dancing when the music had long since stopped, staring into one another's eyes hopelessly. She was about to turn away when Sophie slipped, falling backwards, a stray napkin flying out from under her foot revealing itself to be the culprit. Biana watched as her brother lunged foreword, catching his cognate, and sort of freezing in place. To the new onlooker, Fitz was just dipping Sophie, and wouldn't have a second thought about it and look away, but Biana knew that it was more than that. She could almost see the sparks passing between them as Sophie looked up at him, wide eyed, Fitz's mirroring them in the same manner: wonderstruck. Biana overheard Sophie apologize for being so clumsy, and then Fitz's voice quietly assured her by simply saying, "If you fall, I fall."

Biana hurriedly walked away, suddenly feeling like she was intruding. She couldn't help but realize that she and Keefe weren't like that- so deeply in love. Could they ever have something like that? Were they meant to be after all?

Lost in thought, she felt a little tug on her skirt. Biana looked down to see Lex smiling up at her, and couldn't help but smile after he asked in his cute little voice, "My turn?"

"Yeah," Biana giggled a little as she spoke, "your turn."

She then took Lex's hand and let him lead her to the dance floor. Biana decided that she wouldn't think about her and Keefe's future. He wasn't even here, so at the moment, it didn't matter. This was her night, and she wasn't going to spend it worrying about her relationship. She was here to have fun with her friends and family, so that was just what she was going to do.

This has been part two of "You Fall, I Fall", please use the exit on your right and have a nice day! The next part, part three, will be boarding shortly. Enjoy!
Xoxo,
