-"Sophie!" Biana immediately tackled her in a hug, and Sophie had to rip her hand away from her cognate's to catch her best friend.

"Hey Biana," she laughed. "It's only been a couple hours since we've seen each other."

"Yeah, but you've been spending time with Fitz, so now it's my turn." Biana laughed with her and began to tug at her wrist.

"Biana, she just got here, relax, let her settle in. She still has another cognate thing to do." Fitz gently took Biana's hands away from Sophie's wrist.

"ANOTHER cognate thing? Come on! Why couldn't you have done it at Havenfield?" Biana pouted cutely, giving Sophie puppy dog eyes.

"It won't take long, just a minute or two." Sophie promised, "I just need to drop some things off in Fitz's room, that's all."

Biana gasped immediately, "no! That's scandalous! You need to put it in my room if you're sleeping over. Where's your bag?"

"I'm not sleeping over, I'm just here to hang out."

"Then what's the stuff for?"

"Just in case we need to practice after school on the fly. No biggie." Fitz said casually as he took the stuff Sophie had packed out of his bag and handed it to her.

"Clothes? Wait... you're not secretly dating are you?!" Biana's eyes grew wide, her mouth open like she was about to say something, but didn't know what exactly.

"No!" Fitz and Sophie exclaimed at the same time, their faces a matching shade of red.

"Who's secretly dating? Is it Sophie and Fitz? Finally!" Della appeared in the doorway with a smile on her face. "Congratulations!" She exclaimed as she walked towards them, pulling the two of them into a hug.

"No mom, they're not dating." Sophie could've swore that she heard Biana whisper, "yet," before continuing. "But Sophie is going to have clothes in Fitz's room."

"-Cognate drawers!" Fitz cut his sister off before she could make things worse. "We go over to each other's houses on the fly so often, that we figured it'd be a good idea to keep some of our clothes there."

Della gasped, which sounded almost exactly the same as Biana's previous one. "What a great idea! I'll be sure to buy more clothes for you both to go in your drawers!"

"It has to be able to fit in a drawer, Mom." Fitz sighed, exasperated. Della didn't seem to hear him and squealed with glee before dashing away to go get dressed to shop. Fitz followed her, trying to stop her, but Sophie knew that deep down, he knew that it would be useless. When someone mentioned clothes, you just had to move out of the way for Della to plow through.

Sophie sighed and Biana giggled, "how about we put those in your 'cognate drawer' and go do makeovers?"

"Alright." Sophie agreed, not because she liked makeovers, but because she knew it would make Biana happy. Sophie had always suspected that Biana had a crush on Keefe, and knew that losing him to the Neverseen was hard, so she went out of her way to make her happy. Biana never showed any signs of guilt, but her smiles had become strained, and sometimes she would disappear off on her own, and come back with re-done make up. Sophie never pushed her into admitting it, scared of what would happen, and kept it from everyone else, even Fitz.

Biana smiled widely and took Sophie's hand, excitedly leading her down the hall. When they got to Fitz's room, Biana let Sophie go. "You put your stuff in, and I'll go set some things up for you to try on! I have this new nail polish color that would totally match your eyes!"

Seeing her friend so happy made her smile and laugh. "Don't go too crazy on me, I still have to be home by dinner." Biana was already out of sight, and Sophie doubted that she had heard her. She chuckled and opened the door to Fitz's room.

Almost everything about her cognate's room was big. Big bed, big carpet, big desk, big windows, big bookcase. The only things that weren't huge were Mr. Snuggles and his dresser. Which was weird because Della always bought her kids (and Sophie) so many clothes so often.

"Which drawer is it?" Sophie transmitted to Fitz as she walked over to the dresser.

"The second from the top, it's empty." Fitz replied

"Thanks! How's shopping with Della so far?" Sophie asked as she opened the drawer and started putting her stuff inside.

"Awful. She's asking my opinion about everything and anything. Especially about you. What you would wear, what you wouldn't wear, if I thought it would look look cute on you, that sort of thing. We haven't even made it ten feet into the store yet. I can already tell that this will be a long day. Tell my dad we might not make it back before dinner."

Sophie laughed aloud and dramatically replied, "that's Della for you. So what are you suggesting with your vast knowledge and adoring eye for me?"

"Red." Fitz's transmission rang in her head like a bell. It was so clear and confident that Sophie almost dropped a neatly folded dress. "It's your best BEST color."

That made Sophie's face turn the very same color. "Oh... thanks?" Mentally, she heard Fitz gasp. "What is it?" She asked worriedly and didn't get a response. "Fitz? Is everything okay?"

"Fine! It's fine. Sorry, I just saw something shocking. I have to go, Mom's heading towards this... uh... obnoxiously orange dress. I have to stop her before she buys it for you and try not to puke in the process. Talk to you later."

"Okay, bye." Sophie was confused but decided that Fitz was doing it for her benefit and decided to take it as a complement to their friendship instead of an insult. No one knew her better than Fitz did. Sophie honestly doubted that anyone could.

She finished packing the drawer and walked down the hall to Biana's room where she faced what would be her almost doom. "Awesome, you're here! Now let's get started!"

Biana pulled Sophie closer and shoved some clothes in her arms. "This many, are you sure?"

"Yes! Now hush up and go try them on, remember to turn SLOWLY when showing me." Biana beamed and waved her away, which made Sophie sigh, but she did as she was told. This was going to be a long evening.
