Chapter Twenty One
Yeah, I guess you could say I love the resort we get to stay at.
It's just perfect! There's four pools, one's an infinity pool that look out to the Atlantic ocean, too many shops, restaurants and clubs to count. It obvious the people who stay here must be rich because no middle-class could probably afford this. No offense or anything, it's just really fucking expensive. I know this because I googled it.
"I'll share the master bedroom with Avery, and you can the other," Justin says to Caleb.
I also found out what the rooms look like from my little googling journey. They were like apartments, and the big king too. The room we're staying at has two bathrooms, each with a jacuzzi tub I may add, a spacious living room and kitchen, and two bedrooms. The master has a walk-in closet and big bathroom and the guest has a slightly smaller walk-in closet and bathroom. They two rooms are pretty much the same, but my room has a slightly bigger everything.
Caleb just grunts in response before picking up our luggage and placing it on that wheely thing. You know what I'm talking about? It's the cart type thing you use to bring your bags up to your room. Yeah, that thing!
Anyways, I follow behind Justin as he walks over to the check in counter.

The plane ride did a number on all of us, so we decided to call it a night a little early. Before bed, I decide to take a bubble bath in peace with the fancy jets.
I was so relaxed and lost in thought, I actually feel like I'm not in great danger, and I'm perfectly safe. And I am. I know that I'm safe with Justin and Caleb, they would never hurt me.
It was a peaceful night after that.
I climb into the bed carefully, trying not to wake Justin from his sleep. Once I'm situated, I can't help but admire all his features, again. It's just... he looks so peaceful at night when he sleeps. That sounds creepy but I don't mean like that. His life is so stressful, so he never really has time to just relax. Before I close my eyes and drift away into my sleep, I decide I'm going to make this vacation as stress-free as I possibly can.
But who knew I could be so wrong about that.

"What are we doing today?" I ask the guys as we sit at the island in the sun filled kitchen, eating our breakfast which consists of bacon, eggs, and toast. All provided voluntarily by the one and only, Justin. I forget how good of a cook he is.
I wonder if Caleb is too...
Does it really matter? No. Is it really hot? Hell yeah. That's why I care, for the most part. I mean come on, breakfast in bed would be great in the future.
"We're going to dinner to meet Zachariah," Caleb says through a mouthful of eggs, and I giggle at how immature he is.
"At a five star restaurant too," Justin adds. The restaurants are always so elegant and fancy, but I didn't bring anything like that. "We have to go shopping for a dress today."
"Ugh," Caleb groans as I yell, "yay!"

"It's been a while," Zachariah states, intertwining hid fingers casually while leaning forward onto the table slightly.
His gaze pierces my soul and he's far more intimidating than I thought he would be. He's taller and has more muscle than Justin, curly black hair, chocolate brown eyes, and a 5 o'clock shadow.
"It sure has," Justin repeats the man's actions just as intimidatingly.
"And I see you brought your bitch too."
What's up with calling me a hoe and bitch lately?
That's it!
Ignoring the fact that Justin told me to stay quiet, I say as calmly as possible, "what the fuck did you just call me, you little fuck?"
The look on his face almost made me piss myself. "No one disrespects me and gets away with it, sweetheart."
"Cut her some slack."
I turn to the other man who joined us at the table. He has auburn hair and grey eyes. Why the hell is everyone so fucking attractive?
"What the fuck Rico?" Rico hasn't spoken the entire time we were here until now and the first thing he says it's calling out his boss. Pretty sure he has a death wish.
"She's new to the business and probably doesn't even know who you are."
"Everyone knows who I am," Zachariah snarls.
"Not everyone who doesn't know about the business. Think about it! People thought the business was dead and everything we do is secretive, and illegal, so a civilian probably doesn't know who the most powerful are in the business." Damn, Rico's smart. I can't help but agree with him.
"I agree. I'm not the most knowing of this stuff," I begin slowly, with little confidence, "but from my perspective, a lot of people don't know the mafia is still a thing."
"It's a pretty damn big thing," Caleb points out.
"Yeah but people don't know that."
And that's how we got onto the conversation on how the families were doing. Justin's is still on top, kinda surprising since no one would've predicted that with his age, but Zachariah's isn't far behind. Then, the started discussing their next 'drop' location. I don't know what that is but it's probably illegal.
"That old warehouse on 4th Avenue, back home." Justin decides and everyone agrees. "I will send Dom and Luis."
"Rico and Mario."
"It's settled then," Justin announces while clapping his hands together once. I can't help but smile at him, but it quickly fades. Who's luis? I'm pretty sure I don't know him.
"Who's Luis?"
Justin tenses up beside me and his grip on his glass of champagne tightens. "Caleb. I just stare at him in confusion. "Caleb's real name is Luis."
"Seriously? Why did you say it was Caleb?" I ask, slightly annoyed I may add. Caleb, er–I mean Luis, sighs and looks down at his plate.
"We didn't know if we could trust you so we made up names, American names, so you wouldn't suspect anything." Justin says quietly.
It's all been a lie pretty much. Wait, did he say 'we'? Has he been lying about his name too? "'We'?"
"Avery, my name is Luca De Santis."
He lied, are you kidding me? That is a pretty hot name but still. How many more lies does he have? Oh, and is this what Luis meant about Luca not being who he seems to be? Oh lord, I'm going to get a headache thinking about it.
.
.
.
After we get back to the hotel, after the awkwardly silent car ride, I go straight to my room. They lied, but I guess I can see why they did. They didn't know me and weren't sure if they could trust me, but that doesn't give them an excuse to lie to me.
I just need some alone time to think because this vacation is turning out to be anything but relaxing.
