Chapter Twenty
I sit back down in my seat next to a sleeping Justin. Curse my curiosity.
A few moments later, Caleb walks back into view, without a smile of course, and sits down next to me. He pulls out a pack of cigarettes before lighting one. My nose scrunches up in disgust. I never like smoking or smokers, but maybe that's because I'm against drugs and all that. My dad had been a smoker so I've been exposed a number of times but I'm still not a fan.
"That's not healthy," I say quietly, looking down at my hands that were neatly folded in my lap. His gaze is intense and I begin to feel slightly uncomfortable.
"I never said it wasn't." He points out like a smartass. He stares at me for a while and I look anywhere but him. But after a while, we finally make eye contact. "You're too good for this."
"What do you mean?"
"For his bullshit," he clarifies, "you deserve better. He isn't all he seems."
He sighs, running his hand through his dark curly hair before just getting up. He looks at me one last time and then leaves, leaving my mind confused and overwhelmed. What does he mean? Great, now I'm going to be paranoid this whole trip. Justin said no more secrets, but is he keeping one still? Probably. I might not even be safe with anymore with him. But I shouldn't listen to Caleb, I have no reason to trust him. With a sigh, I slump into the cushion. Justin would never hurt me, so, Caleb is wrong. Well he never specified what Justin was bullshitting but I assume it's about how he could be lying to me again about what he does. He has no reason to though.
The fact that I'm worried, or be cautious, made me even more concerned and wary. I sit alone, sucked into my thoughts for probably around before Justin stirs and wakes up.
"Hey," he says in his husky, groggy morning. Which is very hot for those wondering. A give him a small smile in return. "You hungry?"
"Yeah." I didn't want to take anything without asking so I've been praying that he asked that. His chuckle comes out low and quiet. He gets up, stretching in the process, and walks over to the minibar. "So what are we going to when we get there?"
He thinks for moment before replying, "check into our hotel, then I was thinking about taking you out for dinner."
"Hey what about me?"
We both turn our heads to Caleb. He changed into a gray T-Shirt that hugs his muscular form and some sweatpants. So simple, but yet it looks so good on him.
No, don't think like that!
He smirks before approaching us. "At least you're in a better mood now," I say with a slight giggle. Justin looks over to Caleb confused, clearing not aware we had spoken earlier, and clearly not happy he doesn't know what we're talking about. Even if it is a seemingly simple thing. Justin is a very jealous person, but that not always a bad thing. But it can be.
I finally remember why we were even over here so I speak up, "oh yeah, so what do you have here to eat, Justin?"
He tears his gaze away from Caleb and onto me. "Well–"
"You can have me if you'd like," Caleb interrupts and his smirk widens.
"Uh–"
"Caleb," Justin growls, yes growls, in a warning tone, cutting me off.
Okay people we aren't doctors so let's stop cutting each other off please!
Like seriously, what's up with them? They're such guys sometimes.

After what felt like a century, we finally land in a city on the coast called Puerto Plata.
The view is absolutely breathtaking. The sand on the beach is free of garbage and white. The crystal clear waters are also trash free and I can't wait to see more. As soon as I saw the city I couldn't stop smiling. I probably look like an idiot now, smiling to myself, because Caleb and Justin look like it's everyday you see a tropical city, and the locals the same. I honestly don't care. The sight is indescribable.
We ride to our hotel in a limo. I'm practically shaking with excitement, I've been out of the country only a number of times.
The city just had an aura that made all your worries and problems disappear like my hamburger when I'm hungry. Basically, that's like faster than light.
"We're here," the driver announces and as soon as the car is in park, I jump out and race to get my luggage.
"She's like a kid in a candy store," Caleb says with a chuckle. I decide to ignore him and continue grabbing my bag and suitcase.
