Chapter 81

"I can only imagine how mad he is at us right now," Andy commented as we let Sam into the house.

We had just gotten back from our Florida vacation. I was tired, happy, and relaxed all in one.

"He'll be sleeping at the door or foot of the bed tonight," I commented as we rolled the luggage in.

I wasn't ready to be back home. It felt good to break the normal adult rules. But, we did have something to look forward to: Croatia and Andy officially living with me.

"For sure darling. Goodness, we should have put the mail on hold though," he commented.

One thing about this house was it was an old-fashioned door mail slot. So, all the mail for about 8 days was piled on the front door mat inside the house.

"Imagine your actual house," I told him.

"Yeah I got to drive over there in a few and check on things," Andy commented.

"While you are doing that, I'll get the wash going and figure out what we are gonna want to eat for dinner," I commented as I walked to the laundry room with the suitcases.

They felt heavier than when we went.

"I think we should do takeout or do we have anything frozen? Like a lasagna?" he asked as he disappeared to the kitchen.

"There could be something frozen," I hollered out.

I sorted through the laundry and got it going while Andy was still in the kitchen.

"Did you find anything?" I asked him.

He was in the fridge. And my god, it smelt horrible.

"We must have forgotten to throw something," Andy remarked as he sifted through the fridge to find the source of the smell.

"Oh god, what could we have forgotten to throw out?" I asked him as I covered my nose with my shirt.

"I don't know but when I opened the freezer I was like what the hell," he commented as he opened the bottom drawer.

Bingo on the source of the odor.

"Bleck," I commented, noticing moldy avocados and a few other unindefintable items.

"I think, I think it's this bag of radishes," he commented as he got a paper towel to clean the drawer into the trash can.

"You ain't gonna get sick?" I asked him.

"No no, why?" he asked.

"I will if I don't leave," I told him as I rushed out of the kitchen.

He laughed at me.

I had to open all the windows and air out the house anyway but my god those radishes made the whole house stink.

After 5 minutes, Andy came and found me sorting through one of my suitcases. I had some souvenirs and such as cheesy as it was.

"Is the kitchen safe?" I asked jokingly as he joined me on the floor.

"Yes, it's safe. I don't think we are gonna want to have any radishes for a while," he told me.

"Nope, not for a long damn time that was horrible. I feel like I can still smell it," I told him as I handed him the keychain I had bought him with his name on it.

I'm sure that was too cheesy but hey it's the thought that counts.

"As long as I've been to Florida, I've never seen these keychains," he commented.

"Well, I hope everyone likes them. I even got some for my parents," I told him as I separated my items into specific sections of people.

"I think they are cute darling and they will like them just as much as I do," Andy commented as Sam joined us.

"I felt very much like a tourist to be honest," I commented.

"You were and you looked perfect while doing that tourist thing," he told me.

I chucked.

"Only a few more weeks till we are officially living together," he also commented.

"Yeah, and I start my new job. Everything new is starting," I commented.

"Yes, I loved the sound of that,"  Andy remarked.

Home sweet home.
