Chapter 28

It was the date night I had been nervous for all week. Andy and I had just come back to his house after the pottery class. I was super nervous and jittery. He had cooked us dinner prior to the class.

"I think it was nice to make a necklace charm," I remarked as we sat down on his couch in his den.

Andy had made a square with a heart carved into it. For me, I made the letter A. Kind of cliche I know but whatever.

"I just hope if we wear 'em, they don't shatter ya know," he replied as he reached for the TV remote.

"I don't think they would I mean they aren't giant pendants like this one," I gestured to the gold disc necklace he was wearing.

"Oh? Yeah. Did I ever tell you that Stigwood got me this after my first single went gold?" Andy asked me as he flipped the channels.

I shook my head.

"No, I had no idea. That's cool," I remarked.

"Yeah, and it's literally the only thing constant in my life well besides you. I know it's a lot to put faith into a material item like the necklace," he commented.

"Aw," I remarked.

Just then, the doorbell went off.

"That's odd I wasn't expecting anybody," Andy remarked as he stood up from the couch.

He handed me the remote.

I focused on the TV. But, my ears were filled with chatter.

"She's here. You guys will love her," I heard Andy say.

I focused on the TV while Sam crawled on the couch next to me.

"Darling," Andy remarked as he came back into the den.

"Yes?" I commented as I turned to face him.

Long behold in flesh and blood, his brothers were standing with him.

I wasn't sure what to think and what an awkward way to meet his brothers.

"Oh my goodness hi," I remarked as  I stood up.

"I forgot they were flying in this afternoon for some business. Mo will be playing a show with me early next week," Andy explained.

"It's nice to finally meet you," Barry remarked.

"Likewise," I remarked as I shook his hand.

"So this is the little lady that Andy's raved about," Mo teased.

I looked down at my feet.

"Don't let him get to you," Robin told me.

I chuckled.

"So you guys are official then?" Barry asked Andy as Andy grabbed my hand.

I was full of nerves. Andy gave my hand a squeeze.

"Yeah we've been officially for quite a while," Andy explained.

"So where did you meet?" Robin asked as Andy escorted us back to the couch.

"Her friend Violet was in rehab with me. Every week she would come in to visit her and eventually, we became friends," Andy explained.

"And so you stayed friends after he got out?" Mo asked me.

"Yeah, and I just knew for some reason we had been put into each other's lives. I mean I didn't know this would be the result but I'm grateful," I told him.

"Well I must say this is really fantastic knowing you are both happy," Barry commented.

"Yeah I mean we know what happened in his past and to see someone care about him so much is heartwarming to us," Robin explained.

I was fully listening but the little squirrel in my brain was screaming.

I looked back down at the ground.

"She's also shy like you that's cute," Mo teased.

Andy chuckled. So did I.

"I'm still getting used to all this," I remarked.

"And she's doing great," Andy told me.

All this went on for over an hour. After they left, Andy sighed in relief.

"I'm so sorry darling they stopped by. It wasn't how I intended for you to meet them," he commented as he shut the front door.

I chuckled.

"Sometimes things just have to happen that way. I look forward to that performance you said Mo was gonna help you out with," I told him.

"Right yeah, it kind of slipped my mind to tell you. Not that I was hiding it from you," he defended nervously.

"You are perfectly fine mi amore," I told him.

He turned to look at me.

"You know Italian?" he asked chuckling.

"Just a few words. I took half a semester in college. And the only thing I can really remember is mi amore," I commented.

"Mi amore," he repeated.

It sounded a thousand times cuter with his accent.

"I think it sounds cuter coming from you," I told him.

Andy rolled his eyes.

"My love is what it means, right?" he asked as he reached for the remote again.

It was like deja vu.

"Yeah, I believe so. I mean I'm not sure what to call you. You are calling me darling and I feel like I'm supposed to be saying something cute like that," I told him.

He chuckled.

"You can call me anything darling," he told me.

"I feel like the common ones like babe or love are overused nowadays. Plus, I feel like my last relationship tainted those nicknames if that makes sense," I remarked.

"Well that's understandable," Andy replied as he put the TV on ABC.

"I mean I feel like honey is cheesy," I commented.

"Honey? That's cute. I mean whatever makes you feel comfortable," he replied lovingly.

"I'll try that for now I mean I usually call you Andrew," I chuckled.

"Andrew is my full name not really a nickname," he chuckled in response.

"Yeah yeah I know that duh but I like saying it," I told him.

"I can tell," he replied with a smile.

We focused back on the television. It was an episode of Mr. Belevadre. The Friday night movie would start at 9.

Just as I was about to reply, my stomach started growling extremely loudly.

Andy laughed.

"Was that your stomach?" he asked.

"I didn't think I was hungry," I told him as I readjusted.

"Why don't I go make some popcorn for the movie here in a little bit?" he asked me.

"I mean I don't want to," I began commenting.

He shook his head.

"Nonsense. It's not a bother darling," he remarked as he stood up.

I sighed.

"You sure?" I asked.

"I'm 100% positive," he replied as he disappeared to the kitchen.

I sank back into the couch. All the new things were scary. Not in like a taunting way but nerve-wracking.

I stayed quiet paying attention to the television. Sam joined me back on the couch while Andy was in the kitchen.

I couldn't believe that I was sitting here. I was probably the happiest I had been in years to be truthfully honest.

The house was quiet. Minus the dialogue from the TV. After 15 minutes, Andy came back into the den.

"Would you like something to drink?" he asked.

I turned to see him standing in the doorway.

"Uhm yeah, do you got," I began asking.

"Pespi? Yes," he interrupted.

"I'll take that," I replied smiling.

"See I'm learning," he told me smiling before he disappeared.

I smiled to myself. He definitely was learning. So was I.

To a nice little night with Andy.
