Faithless

Kendrix-

"Oh..." Dad said.

"Because you expected us to be nice and kind and welcome you right back in?" Paul asked our parents. "If you don't remember you kicked us out."

"For things we can't help." Josh added on.

Sally stayed out of it. So did Anson and their kids.

They just started making dinner.

"Can't help?" My mom said. "Being gay is-"

"Okay." I cut her off. "If you're so religious, Mom, then why did you date Dad? If you're such a believer. Then what am I? Because it came from you."

Piss off parents 101, everybody.

Apparently her husband didn't know I wasn't his kid.

So he got confused and my mother was ready to beat me by this point and nearly did. She raised her hand and somebody grabbed it. A guy taller then her. About 6 foot. Around there. Black hair, sea green eyes.

"Slap her." He spoke. "And I will slap you. That is your daughter. Respect her."

Scared everyone.

"How long have you been there?" Dad asked him.

"Like 10 minutes.' He said. " waiting for you guys to shut up and leave or just go inside."

Yet we didn't notice him...

They asked why he's here.

"I live here." He answered. "With my mother."

They look at me.

"Not mine." I said. "I don't even know him, and its not my place."

Phone rings and Paul went to answer.

"Then who's kid is he?"

We all back up and Sally can't hear us in the kitchen with everything.

"Well the apartment is in her name." Anson points out, motioning to Sally. Paul had to go to a meeting. So he's gone. Anson had an interview for a job, and the kids had friends houses they were going to.

So now its this kid, our parents, Sally, Josh, and myself.

Everybody comes inside. The kid Sally gave a hug and he returned the hug, trading a few words. I don't know what. Then he went to unpack.

"Well he was... Intimidating." My mother commented.

We could all agree on that. Sally not even bothering to listen, not getting involved.

"How old is he?" Dad asked Sally. "19? 20?"

"17." She answered.

Oh...

A little scarier.

Ask where his dad is. I'm expecting to hear Paul is at a meeting.

She shrugged.

"No idea." She answered. "You'll have to ask Percy, he'd know."

"You don't know where your husband is?" Mom found that weird.

"We're not married." She specified. "Nor were we ever married, so... I know where my husband is, but its not him."

Mom came out about her little affair with my dad the next hour. Dad was fucking furious with her. And she had reason, I guess. He was dating three other women from a strip club. He got all of them pregnant with twins at least. On purpose. She accidentally got pregnant because the protection broke with one child and one guy.

Who was a god.

So yeah, that summer camp I went to as a kid... To train demigods.

And our parents told us that they had moved on, their kids were more important than their religion. What they had did was wrong and in the heat of the moment.

Yeah, we forgave them. Mostly.

Not completely.

Percy heard the whole Apollo thing when he came back out and they asked about his dad and he just out his arm up.

An SPQR.

With a Trident.

"Neptune?" My father asked.

"Poseidon." He said. "Greek."

Well then. I mean, he has a Roman camp tattoo, so...

That will forever bug me.

But anyways it got a little awkward because we really don't know him and he lives here and... Yeah.

And his grandparents are here. That was interesting being he probably doesn't know they're his grandparents.

Once again the phone rings. Sally answered.

"Hello." She answered.

"No." She said.

"Yeah."

"What!?"

We all know about the gods here. There's two demigods here. She puts it on speaker.

"Repeat that, Grover." Sally told this person. "Two demigods are in the room. Percy is one of them."

"What?" Percy asked and I wasn't thinking anything bad or anything.

"So I know everyone was just like released today and all..." This guy said over the phone. "But you know... Um... There is an army of about 800 angry demigods and legacies outside the border and its only a matter of time before they realize what kind of jeeps our border. And their leader... Is Kronos."

Percy looked so fucking done.

"I'm guessing I can't just Do this over an IM." Percy said.

"Not really." Grover tells him. "Are there any other demigods you can bring with? Even legacies or anyone. Bring mortals if they're actually able to believe a 17 year old fighting war against a Titan. I mean, Rachel believed it."

"Rachel is the Oracle, Grover."

"Not when you and Annabeth told her." He points out. "Just hurry up. Clarisse is guessing we have about an hour before they raid us. At most."

He hangs up.

We call Paul and Anson. They both answer. And the kids.

"So here's the situation."

I don't have a choice, I have to him. My parents offered, Sally offered. Paul offered, Anson and Josh offered. The kids all offered even if they're not on the battlefield, which I don't imagine Percy will be. Camp would never allow that.

So we're all going.

Take a back route and go in not by the gate. So we aren't killed. They had a frikkin forcefield some kind of thing here. It was awesome. Percy gave permission for everyone inside of the place and they redid it a lot.

Yes, Paul and Josh are also demigods. They're the children of Hermes.

Yes, Josh and Paul are twins.

The thing it. We used to have a ton of adults here, when the three of us went here.

Everyone was under the age of 25.

Everyone but Chiron and Mr.D were under the age of 25.

A lot of people voulenteered, apparently and I saw a ton of Roman campers.

"What are Romans doing here?" Josh asked him. A little worried they might kill us.

"We kind of trade over camps a little." He answered. "Don't worry, they won't kill you. They're nice people."

"And everyone here is under the age of 25." I commented.

"So?" He asked.

"Who the hell fights the war?" My dad asked. "The bloody part. This place wouldn't never allow minors to fight."

The kids and my parents and Percys mom were taken to get armor and weapons and stuff. The Mist lifted off their eyes.

"Well they redecorated." Paul commented.

"More like redid the whole place." Josh commented. "Where did half of the woods go?"

"When you fight a few wars..." Percy said. "It happens. Big House hasn't changed yet. Still have the creepy attic."

"That place gives me nightmares." I said. "Especially the Oracle..."

"Yeah... We got rid of her."

Paul and Josh found their cabin and I asked again.

"Who fights the wars?" I asked. "Everyone under 18 isn't allowed to fight or have of any violence."

He gave me a look.

"Okay." He said. "Things have changed here. A lot. We have next to nobody that's 18 because when people graduate and can move and have their own life, that's what they do. They stop attending camp. Eventually they added a rule. Once you leave for college, you are done with Camp Half-Blood. They have helped you all they can, good luck in the real world. The oldest camper I knew wouldve been 24, and he stopped at 20. Stuff isn't the same anymore. Our councilors are anywhere from 12 to 18. We're forced to send kids out as young as 7, 8, 9 years old because we don't have the numbers anymore. We honestly don't."

"Then let them back in." I said. "The adults. I mean, one war. Big deal. So?"

"Try 3." Percy told me. "In 3 years. In a row."

The councilor meeting whistle went off. I'm an old councilor. They said of older generations, too.

So Josh was there, so was I, and Percy was, too.

I was councilor for my last year. When I turned 20.

Just about everyone from our generation was here and the generation before us. The first ones that we looked up to. They were almost 50 now. In their 40s.

Up front sat Percy, some chick a year or two younger, and a buff Chinese kind of dude. Chiron and Mr.D across the table. Then a red haired chick, a really scary ass chick I'm guessing is Ares kid, Percys age. A blonde girl with grey eyes. I've seen photos of her in Percys room. A set of twins. Mr.D's kid was right by him. A kid a year or two younger than Percy with a skull ring and he was kind of scary. I'm guessing Hades kid. A girl about 16, black spiky hair with blue in it. A guy with a huge fan and super blonde hair and sun freckles, probably my brother. Apollo kid. Then a ton of other kids. A lot more than us. Then again, they added cabins, so...

Mr.D and Chiron left.

"Where are they going?" An old friend of mine, Hannah Danid asked.

"Oh!" Somebody commented. "You thought we fought wars with them? Because we're kind of on our own."

"Seriously?" Josh asked. "We'll die!"

"We've pulled it off before." The blonde told us. "Don't get pissy because you don't know how to fight a fucking war and we do."

"Annabeth!" Like half of them said and the blonde just rolled her eyes.

She didn't want to be here.

"So a little filler." Percy started the meeting. "We already know who leads what were up against. Kronos, Titan ruler and control over time. He shouldn't be all too powerful, there was a war against him two summers back he lost and so this is just a quick bring back. As of everyone else. There's monsters, demigods, Hunters, Amazons, mortals. They're all angry and ready for war. If they touch the Golden Fleece and get it off the Pine Tree at the top of the hill they can get in with ease. We have forces all around the baracade, waiting for when that happens. Right now mortals, voulenteers, and so on are being trained for wherever they're being placed when this goes down. Somehow Apollo legacies and demigods will be divided in half, which you will have to figure out after the meeting between the infirmary and the Battle field. We will try to get children helping in the infirmary but we can't have every kid in there. Apollo is already one of our largest units aside Hermes. Aside that, any questions. I'm Percy, this is Frank and Hazel, we run the place during war. Anyone at the table could probably answer any questions. Alright. Meeting dismissed."
