Chapter VII
Looked to my window at the glaring light. It was fair and young, it was the start of a new day. Endless possibilities whispered in my ear. It was silenced the second I remembered a foot is resting on my forehead. The first thing I notice when I woke up. Maybe subconsciously I knew it beforehand. Whose foot I have no clue. Until a body emerges from the covers, Kara, in her nest of hair. She let's out a yawn, "Good morning."
"Hey," I stretch. Look down on to the floor, to find Carmen knock out on the sofa. Ferra was nowhere to be seen. "Come on guys get up we have to get ready," I look over at the clock on my night stand. Six-forty, when no one listened I spoke again, "Guys seriously we have twenty minutes."
I threw a pillow at Carmen, she growled in response. "Do not growl at me."
"Huh-," she rose up looking lost, "Sorry I'm a bit of a bitch in the morning," she says as she scratches her head.
"Yeah fine just get out," I get up, my foot lands on the lumpy floor. A grown sounds, only to be coming from Ferra.
"Ah what the hell man," she growls.
"Hey, get up. And get out," I chucked.
"Yeah, yeah we're going," Ferrera gets up, and stumbles out of the room along with everyone else.
"Training is in fifteen," I yell before the door shuts. I let out a soft grunt before I get up. Moving the duvet I get out some exercise clothes. Gym shorts and a tank top. Once I had that on I took a breath. Closing my eyes, letting it all in.
A knock on the door startles me back into reality. "Coming!" Walking up to the door as I wonder who it was. Opening it to see Ferra accompanied by what it seems to be the rest of my pack.
"They want to talk to you," Ferra gestures to the rest of the pack.
We all gathered in my room, making a makeshift meeting room. "So what's the problem," I lean back on my arms.
~~~
"We don't want to use our abilities," Isaac finished.
I look at everyone, they looked almost ernest. But I could tell they agreed. "It's your decision, as long as everyone agrees it fine with me. But in all honesty I don't see the point," I look up at everyone. "But it's your choice."
We all get up and head out.
The training area covered several acres of land. Stations some with small stages, others have stands with equipment and weapons. A border line of trees, thick and dense as if night and day where in two separate places. Then a little off to the side is a building most likely punching bags and where they supply even more weapons. The sun was blinding, and the wind was stiff. As all eyes focused on the main stage where the king stood, tall and mighty.
"Today is our first day of training. We'll be split into groups alpha's will leading each group," Ferra grabbed my shoulder, smiling. "and all the pack will be mixed with one and other," I knew what the rest of my pack where thinking. He took people by their last names, stirring all the packs together into one big mess. "Now, group one will be with Stephen, group two will be with Maximus, group three will be with Tyler, group four with Eric, and finally group five will be with Alexander," he finished walking of the stage.
"What the hell," I say to myself. Walking up to the king, I nudged him. "Your highness, not to be rude, but I must ask why didn't I get a group."
"We already went over this Daniela, you are not an alpha," He walks away checking out the progress of everyone else. I growled lowly, he looked back smirking. I glared.
"Daniela get over here," Alexander commanded. Huffing and uttering curse words as I walked. "Okay so we're going to start with human form, so we can be stronger in our wolf forms," I ignored his rambling looking around the field. "Daniela!" his voice shrilled. I look over at him wait for him to continue. "You need to pay attention," I rolled my eyes, I felt like a child but was there any other way to feel. I face forward once again, trying to comprehend what he was babbling about. Just as I was about to actually care something pull me away.
"Hey look at the little pathetic rogue," a wolf spoke, with venom in his lungs. He looked down at Kara. As she was turned away, trying not to mind. The mut is accompanied by two others, as they continued to tease and taunt. And the alpha, of course was doing nothing about it.
I was ready to pounce, when I stopped to see how this will all pan out. Holding my ground. "Come on aren't you going say something," he asked again. She's mute, I answered for her. I clenched my fist, growling softly.
"Hey stop man," Joshua spoke.
"And what you going to do about?" One of them asked condescendingly.
"I'm gonna make you regret it," Josh glared down.
"Hey you sure about that," the guys laughed. As if Josh was making a comedic joke. "What are you going to do, growl at me," They snickered. "Or better yet snarl," they sneered. I looked over at the alpha king, his arms crossed, lightly laughing at the scene.
"Maybe if we leave Kara alone then we don't have to get into anything," Josh states. The boy share in a laugh once more, then the first one shoves him. Pushing Josh back. By then Isaac and and Sam but in.
"Hey is there a problem here," Isaac asks.
"Yeah your little band of rogues need to get out of here," he shoved Isaac as well.
And that's when things went south.
Punches were thrown, snarls filled the air. Joshua was pinned down, his face was being stomped down, and smacked repeatedly. "Hey stop," they were taking it too far. Isaac tried to push them off but they won't budged. He tried to push them off when overpowered him.Sam tried to failing as well. More of my pack members joined in to help, when things took a turn for the worse. I was ready to walk down to stop this. When I was froze like everyone else. Lighting struck down, Isaac. Missing the wolves by centimeters. Everyone frozen, Isaac's hand was sticking in the air. "Now if anyone does anything to my pack, I won't miss," his breath was heavy and his eyes burned with fury. Everyone settled down, got back to their post. I smiled
I happy. My pack were supporting each other and were being themselves.
But I was still pissed about me not being a trainer.
"Hey! You need to pay attention," he snapped. As things started to settle down again.
I felt like a rebellious teen. Rolling my eyes, "I really don't," I mutter to myself.
"You know if you think you're so important why do think they put you with the rest of the trainers," he questioned, looking down at me smirking.
"Well the king just doesn't know what I'm capable of," the people around me snickered in their ignorance. Everyone was now staring, anticipating.
"Well why don't you show us then," his fist attempts to collide with my face, again attempts.
What is with my pack today? We are so much more courageous.
"Nice try," grabbing his fist with my hand, bringing it down and twisting. His face beet red, his face scrunched in pain. But his eyes straining themselves to look at me. His eyes His eyes were hungry for blood.
I shared his angry, my eyes red. A sensation that I yearned for, that was lost in the amulet. Not only could I not feel the bond, but my wolf was gone. I made a drastic decision, and now I feel it again. Oh how I missed it. It felt good to be this again.
I let go of his hand. A low growl erupted from me. His hand latches onto my shoulder shoving me back. Knock me several feet away, I kneeled down with my hands in front of my legs. I feel the dirt in my nails as they elongated. I race back scraping dirt as a advanced. I felt like transforming, turning myself into a beast. But I had to stay in control, unless I wanted more than just him to suffer.
He stood his ground, waiting. I charged shoving the both of us in one of the stages. Breaking it, wood and metal protruding out of the stage. I lifted myself up looking at him, but not a moment later I start slashing. Ripping flesh, turning red. Spreading. A deep red, thick, flowing.
I loved it.
It was the monster inside, pouring out. Being dormant for so long, and now the amulet. She was trapped and she was wanted to be free.
He shoved me off, dirt flew out. He pounced landing on me, thourghing punches left and right repeatedly, like a broken record. My face bruised, purple and blue print on me. I was lost dazed, letting him hit me. I was weak, crazy for going up against him. Trying to be brave and strong. Failing. Why couldn't I be strong, I was never strong. Show them nothing, proving nothing. The feeling was gone and I-.
I had people counting on me. I have a pack, and I wasn't done yet. I pushed him off. Getting up quickly, circling each other. "You're pathetic," he spat.
I said nothing, I just growled. Shifted and lunged.
