That was one beautiful summer day. People were busy and kids were happily running around and playing. It was one of those times when one couldn't say will be miserable and chaotic... like it'll soon become...

''Auruo!" Auruo turned around and saw Petra. She was standing a few meters away from him with Eld and Gunter in their civillian clothes.

"Hi, where have you been? We couldn't find you all day."said Petra as they approached him.

"Well, someone must go on town patrol and protect people from any harm. And who would do this job better than me?" Aurou said with a proud look on his face.

"Eh?" said Gunther.

"We know you well enought to say that you're hiding something from us." said Eld with his eyebrow rised.

"And why would you go to patrol when it's our day off? And you aren't in uniform." said Petra.

"Alright guys, you got me! I was just going around! Don't be such an asses who can't take one simple joke!"

All three laughted and Eld patted Aurou's back. "Well we must be serious in front of you, otherwise it won't have an effect on you and you'll always have your nose high."

"Shut up! I am actually a very modest person and I never watch someone from highs!"

"Look who's being an ass right now." Petra giggled.

"Hey, that's not i-!" He couldn't even finish his sentence because of his now bitten tongue. He covered his mouth with both hands and tried to silence his whimpers.

Trio laughted again and Petra pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and gave it to him.

"Than you, Petra." said Auruo and hid his smile behind handkerchief.

"You're wellcome. Please be more careful next time." answered Petra.

"Petra, have you seen Captain Levi? He went on trip to Mitras for 7 days now, and he supposed to pass by this area in return." asked Gunther.

"No, I haven't. What about you Eld, Auruo?" asked Petra.

"I haven't seen him. Maybe we passed by him without knowing. The crowd is pretty big today." said Eld.

"Me neither. You know that he's hard to find in a sea of all this tall people."

They couldn't help it and they laughted once more, but not too much because it was their Captain they made joke about.

"Well, he has less problems than me! I am the shortest member of the squad here and maybe in whole Surve Corps." said Petra and smiled awkwardly.

"Aww, our little Petra is defending her Captain, how cute!" said Eld with teasing smile.

"No! Shut up! That was truth, so why you think I'm defending him! I-I mean, I have n-no problem if I defend him but-" said Petra and she was scarlet red.

Eld patted her head and said: "It's alright Petra, we understand."

"No, you're misunderstanding and-"

"And, are you going to continue this talk of yours on this filthy street, or you'll go to your houses and enjoy your healthy muscles while your still can?"

All of them turned around and saw their Squad Leader and Captain - Levi. He was wearing white button up shirt with black jacket, black pants and boots. He had his arms crossed and his face didn't show any emotion. But if you look closely, you'll see that he's annoyed. Very.

"Captain Levi, sir!" His four subordinates saluted to him and he glanced at each one of them. He saw Auruo's nervous face and he decided that he'll let him go with his 'joke'. Only this time. When he saw Petra blushing and trying not to make eye contact, he felt confused. He knowed each of them for 3 years of their serving military under his command. He knew them, yet, he didn't learn about this side of her. Truth to be told, he's always lived her, but he knew he can't be with her, because she's too good and he don't deserve that. He pushed his feeling aside, however, whenever she's closer to him than usual, he couldn't help but feel something in his chest. He was sure that his feelings are one-sided, until today...

He caught himself staring at her and that snappet him out of his thougs.

"Erwin told me to bring you back to HQ. He said it's something important and that includes next mission outside the walls. I'm sorry that we're ruining your free days." said Levi.

"It's alright Captain Levi. We chosse life of a soldier, so we'll do our duties right." said Gunter.

"Good." Levi replied.

After that, every member of Squad Levi went to their homes to inform their familes of their early leave, leaving Levi alone, waiting for them. He was leaning against the wall with his gaze at the crowd. He was thinking about what happened just a few minutes ago and he couldn't believe it. He wondered if Petra loves him?

No, it's impossible. he though.

She was just embarrased because of his Squad's teasing. It was normal. With that realization, he let out a sigh of relief. He has foul mouth, shitty behaviour and was always in a bad mood. It was impossible that she'll fall for someone like him. He can't bare the though of losing his loved ones. Every person that was close to him died. His mother, Farlan, Isabel and other soldiers whose he knowed well enough to maybe consider as friends. He can't let that happen again, he can't. So he made his mind - he'll protect his squad, he'll protect her, even if it costs his life.

"Captain?" he turned his head to the side and was now face to face with his ginger-haired subordinate.

She's fast. though Levi.

"Petra."

"Um, did you heard any of our talk, Captain?" asked Petra and you could hear a nervousiness in her voice.

"No, I haven't." said Levi. That's right, just lie around.

Thanks God, he didn't hear anything. though Petra

"Why, were you spreading rumours about me or something like that?" asked Levi.

"No, no! That's not it! We, um, we were discussing if we saw you in this area in your return from Sina capital. We would never badmouth you, sir."

"I see." answered Levi with bored expresion.

It was clear that he didn't want to talk so Petra didn't asked him anything more. Now, she's alone with him, and awkward silence doesn't make anything better. They were standing like that for 5 minutes, when they heard a cheereful voice.

"Hey! Levi, Petra!"

It was Hanji. She waved from distance and approached them.

"I was wondering what took you so long to bring back your Squad, so I went in search and I saw you two alone and I couldn't contain myself from having a closer look!" she said with her famous expression.

"What do you mean, Squad leader Hanji?" asked Petra.

"Shitty glasses, we are waiting for others to get here, so quit it." said Levi.

"Ah, come on! It's obvious, isn't it? When are you planning on telling her your-"

Levi grabbed her by the collar.

"I swear Hange, shut the hell up your mouth!" angrily said Levi.

"Alright, alright! I was just kidding, Petra, I hope you're not uncomfortable, are you?"

Petra nervously laughted. "No... not at all!"

Hanji hugged Petra and said: "Finally someone who understands!" she happily shouthed.

"Squad Leader Hanji, you... are choking me..."

"Oh, sorry!" said Hanji as she relased Petra out of her deadly grip.

"Be careful next time, Four eyes. I don't want to lose squad member." said Levi.

Hanji only gave him a teasing smile that caused Levi's face darken even more.

"Here we are, Captain!" shouted Gunter. He was returning with Eld and Auruo.

Eld was smirking at the scene before him. He didn't hear anything, but he was wise enough to realise what's going on.

Auruo on the other hand was confused. Petra was blushing a little, Hanji was exited and Levi was boring holes in her head. Then he collected two and two and he realised the same think as Eld. Was it really happening in front of him?

"Oh, you've finally come. Levi was just confessing Petra his-"

"Hange, not now!"

"-cleaning plan tommorow!"

What the HELL?! though Levi.

"Again? But Captain, we already cleaned last week pretty hard!" Eld whined.

Luckily, Levi was fast to react.

"There's more dust to clean now, so don't complain. And you Hange, I supposed to tell them that."

"Don't be mad at me Levi! You know I'm always here to help."

"I don't need you help" Levi answered bitterly, "I am their commanding officer, so I am responsible for their duties."

"Captain, Squad Leader Hanji didn't mean anything bad, really." said Petra.

Levi only looked at her then sighed.
"Fine." and with it he let go of Hanji's collar.

"Wow, thanks Petra. He's so short tempered that somethimes I wonder why is he so popular with girls." said Hanji.

Everyone was speechless. Captain Levi, popular with girls? crossed their minds.

"Can you please bot talk about it now?"

"Well... no."

"I'll ki-"

"Don't make a scene, you two."

The one who said that was Commander Erwin who was standing in front of them with arms crossed.

"Commander Erwin!" Everyone except Levi and Hanji saluted.

"Levi, be more self-controled, and you Hange, calm yourself and have your mouth shut until we reach HQ." said Erwin with autority in his voice.

"Tch!" Levi was already nervous, and thanks God Erwin appeared, otherwise, he would commit a homicide.

"Why? I was just kidding!"

"Hange..."

"Fine." she pouted.

"Now, lets go. We have a metting for upcoming expedition." said Erwin.

"Yes, sir!" Levi's squad shouted in unision.

When they arrived, everyone was in their rooms chainging. Petra was really confused. If Captain wanted to tell her his cleaning plan, why was he so mad back then. It was bothering her how Hanji-san said it:

"Levi was just confessing Petra his-"

Why did she tell confess instead of tell?

Her heart trobbed.

No,that's immposible. Captain can't have romantic feelings towards me. I'm just his subordinate, nothing more and nothing less. I can't let him know about my feelings for him. It's enough for me to be by his side until I die, even as his subordinate.

After she put her Survey corps uniform on, she left the room. She keeps telling herself to forget about everything, but couldn't. It was bothering her so much. She was so deep in her thoughs that she didn't see one person coming from the corner. She bumped into them and automatically raised her head.

"C-captain?"

"Petra."
