*Tami's POV*

I stood there froze as I watched my best friend hit the ground 

"LAUREL" I screamed once I got all senses back, I ran towards her along with JJ and Simon who watched the whole thing. Me and JJ dropped down beside her, JJ slowly lifted her head up before placing it on my lap. I looked at her as tears rolled down my face

"Hello? We need an ambulance at *Random street* a girl just got hit by a car" I couldn't focus on anything that was happening around me than the fact that my best friend might be dead, I looked up just in time to see her dad leave. My best friend might be dead because of him

"Tami?" I looked back to see paramedics, JJ lifted Laurel's head again and placed it on the floor. Everything was happening way too fast 

"JJ is going to go with her, I'm going to take you" I look up to see Simon with his hand held out 

"But... Laurel?" I asked and let Simon help me up 

"She's in good hands, come on let's get to the hospital" Simon said 

"But..." I said and tears started to fall more 

"Everything will be fine" Simon said and wiped my tears, I nodded my head and followed Simon 

*Skipping Journey*

Me and Simon rushed into the hospital and headed straight to the waiting room where JJ, Josh and Tobi with a few other guys who I didn't know where sat 

"JJ" Simon said and lead me to them, JJ looked up and at me 

"H-how is she?" I asked 

"She's gone to surgery and they won't let me in" JJ said and sighed, I whimpered and felt more tears rolling down my face. I felt my back hit a wall before sliding down it then sat down on the floor, I heard someone sit down beside me and they wrapped an arm around me. I leaned against them and covered my face before crying 

"Hey, she'll be fine I promise" I heard the person whisper to me 

"Tami, she'll be fine" I heard JJ say, I moved my hands and looked at them. I realised that I was leaning against Simon, I looked at the other guys 

"W-who are they?" I asked 

"They are our friends" Simon said 

"I kinda told them what happened since Josh and Tobi were looking for us" JJ said, I nodded my head 

"That's Vik, Harry, and Ethan. And obviously you know Josh and Tobi" Simon said, I nodded my head again before playing with my sleeves 

"Tami?" I looked up to see James running towards us, I stand up and he pulls me into a hug. I hug back and start to cry on his shoulder, he pulls away after a few seconds 

"What happened? They called me saying that Laurel was in a car accident, I was her second emergency contact. Why am I her second emergency contact? Shouldn't it be you since you're her best friend?" James asked confused, I can't tell him that I'm her first emergency contact. I just looked at James not knowing what to say

"Wait, you're not hurt are you?" James asked in panic and checked for bruises 

"James, James. I'm fine" I said, James looked at me before pulling me back into a hug 

"I don't know what I would do if I lost my baby sister" James mumbled, I stared at a wall and remembered back to the girls toilets when I said that I didn't want to live anymore. James pulled away from the hug and looked at me again

"You're school also called saying that you and Laurel didn't go to your classes except for first period, what happened Tami?" James asked, I can't tell him the truth. Not when I promised Laurel I wouldn't say a thing about what's happening at home with her. Come on Tami, think

"I w-wasn't feeling well so Laurel told the teachers that she would take me home, I guess they didn't mark it down. We went to Westfield to pick up some food because we were hungry. After we got o-our food, we left and Laurel crossed the road and didn't see the car heading in her direction. By the time I screamed her name, the car hit her" I said as tears rolled down my face again, I looked over James's shoulder to see the guys sat there confused 

"Why didn't you just call me? I could of left early" James said, I looked back at James

"Because your education means a lot to you and I couldn't just pull you out especially if you had to stay back" I said, James sighed and nodded his head before turning around and looking at the group

"Who are these people?" James asked

"Just some friends me and Laurel made at Westfield" I said 

"What did I tell you and Laurel about talking to strangers?" James asked 

"Sorry, we were sat near them when we went to get food and it slipped but we had to ask if it was ok with us sitting by them" I said, James looked at me before looking back at the group

"I'm James, Tami's older brother" James said. I watched as Simon relaxed and sighed in relief, what's that about?

"JJ" 

"Simon" 

"Josh" 

"Tobi" 

"Vik" 

"Harry" 

"Ethan" 

"Laurel's dad is on his way here, I called him" James said, I tensed and I say that JJ was about to say something but I shook my head. They all looked at me confused 

"Please don't" I mouthed to them

"Laurel Cook?" I looked to see a doctor, me and James rushed to him with the guys following 

"We're here for Laurel" James said, I grabbed James's hand and he squeezed it to get me to relax

"Anyone family?" The doctor asked 

"No but I'm her best friend but more like sister" I said, the doctor looked at me 

"How long have you known Miss Cook?" The doctor asked 

"My whole life" I said 

"She's lucky to be alive but in a deep sleep, she slipped into the deep sleep during the surgery and we did almost lose her. We are hoping that she wakes up in a week or two, if not then we will have to take more serious action" The doctor said, my grip on James's hand tightened 

"She has a few scars here and there but also we noticed that she had a few bruises already before the accident, is she in a abusive relationship or live with anyone abusive?" The doctor asked 

"What? And no, not that I know of" James said 

"Miss, do you?" The doctor asked me, I gulp and shook my head 

"N-no" I said, the doctor looked at me and I gulp again

"She's in room 105, you may go see her" The doctor said, I relaxed a little before we all walked to Laurel's room

"Oh my God" James said when he saw Laurel, I stood there and just stared at her with tears rolling down my face. I felt a hand on my back while my grip on James slipped, I watched as my brother walk over to her 

"I-I didn't think it would be this bad" James said, I slowly started to walk towards the bed. I sat down on the chair that was beside of her bed and held her hand then silently watched her, I heard movement around me but refused to look

"Oh my baby girl" I looked up to see Laurel's dad at the doorway, why did you have to show up?...
