Snow Days

Flashback

The gloriousness of winter break was finally bestowed upon our young selves, meaning one thing.

A Weasley snowball fight championship.

Everyone was getting one last taste of the warmth and good food except me and Fred. We had both traipsed our brave little selves into the freeze to seal our sweet victory.

Though hot chocolate and a warm fire sounded appealing, and Weasley snowball fights usually lasted up to a week, we spent our last few moments in the haze of construction.

Fred, being the ultimate snow lover, was on top of everything. The building of the walls, places to rest, and even the detailing seemed to sprout straight from Fred's eager hands.

Finally, we stepped back to server our work. It was an extremely fortified snow castle built at the bottom of a hill backing up to a wooded area.

It had two towers that gave a good vantage point for people rushing down the hill to attack. It had two beds, each was a ditch with a plastic seal against the snow and a blanket resting above. And, the best part, it was stocked full of snowballs so we could focus on the assault instead of waisting time trying to come up with snowballs.

"Brilliant." We both whispered in unison.

We won that snowball fight within a day, the fastest win in Weasley history.
