Not Going Down Without A Fight
"Gin. Look at me."
Red rimmed eyes rose to engage in a vicious sibling stare, thinking that I had to be heartless to leave my twin. Her voice halted its pleas as she noticed the pain reflected back at her. I had her full attention.
"Fred wouldn't want us to cry." I began, tears of my own beginning to flow despite my words.
These words, though simple, caught the entire clearing attention.
"He would want us to live our lives, to enjoy our time t-together like he did. He would want us to laugh a-and smile and make more memories like he did. He would want us to cherish what's l-left for us like he did. And he would want us to protect everyone else so no one else had to endure the pain he went through...."
My voice broke as I said this, flashes of his screams and the green tint to his skin almost overpowering.
"What I unleashed into this world is something that we can fix. He would want us to fix it. Please Gin. Will you help me?
Because, I can't do it alone."
They were all silent. Heartbreak had struck us, but from my words sprouted something more. I felt, for the first time since I had acquired those memories of my twin, that there was truly hope.
"I will. If Ginny can't." Fleur said.
She had pulled her face from where it had buried itself into Bill's chest. She gave a half hearted smile towards her husband and began to walk towards me.
"Me too." Bill added, taking his wife's hand in his.
He wouldn't let her go it alone.
"I as well. You're right son, he wouldn't want us to sit here in tears. That boy lived more than any one of us and we owe it to him to try." My father exclaimed.
Soon all of my family and 'extended' family had agreed, except Ginny.
She still sat shivering in the snow, undecided. We all looked to her, waiting for her answer.
"Ok." She whispered gently. "I'll do it."
I smiled and Harry helped her up.
Though she was still shaken, she wasn't out yet.
