5.Second Day
She didn't sleep that night and didn't want to go to school. Her father was a drop out her father urged her to go to school to at least get a high school diploma. The walls in her room had unfinished drawings of a dream catcher with the netting shaped like a howling wolf. Some feathers were on fire, some were ashes blown away by the wind, and some had their former beauty. She had stayed up late trying to finish her drawing. but for some reason she kept zoning out to the full moon in the woods with the sad melancholic howling of the wolves. While she getting ready for school, she felt as if she was spied on despite the drawn curtains. She combed her hair as she felt the unsettling feeling that she was not alone and that she was in danger.
"Dad?" She called as she went down the stairs towards the kitchen where breakfast was served.
"Yes? Luna" He asked as he wrote an essay line on his laptop.
" Do you mind if I walk to school?" She asked as she took a bite out of her sandwich.
"It'll take you about 2 hours to get there." He sipped from his coffee as he read something in his notebook full of notes.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, so as soon as I finish with this I'll go and drop you off. Today I got the day off and don't forget your lunch, it's in the fridge." She smiled a she grabbed her sandwich and took a bite out of it.
"How's college so far?" She asked as she drank her chocolate milk.
"Everything seems complicated but i'll manage." He smiled as he kept on typing on his laptop.
"Cool cool." She kept on eating her sandwich.
"Leave your plate on the sink, I won't be home until 3." He closed her laptop, grabbed his keys and her book bag.
"Ok." She washed her hands and ranned after him to meet him outside with the engine of his car running.
"Can't use the motorcycle today, I need to do some repairs on it." He informed as he pulled out of the driveway.
"Do it when you can." She stared out the window as she watched the trees go by making her dizzy and craving for the thrill of speed.
He forced himself to get out of bed to get read for school and carry out with his life. He was brushing his teeth when a text arrived in his phone, he was about to ignore it but he thought against it.
BAE <3: Morning :)
Me: Good morning bae ;)
He texted back and almost immediately she texted back.
BAE <3: Did you dream of meh :3
She asked.
Me: Yep
BAE<3: Kan't wait 4 the party 2night"
He answered back as he smiled and got out of the bathroom to get dressed.
Me: tbh same can't wait to make u mine
He chuckled as he searched for some other kick name in his phone to the write.
ME: Is everything ready for 2night?
He didn't received an immediate response until he got to school.
Tow_speed: Yeah, just stick to the plan like we talked
He smiled darkly as he sat next to Aiden who was busy checking his instagram.
"Hey, bro." Aiden greeted without looking up from his phone.
"Who you're going with?" Rudy asked.
"No one but imma see if the new girl wants to go."
"Why?" Rudy asked taken back not sure if the guy sitting next to him was his real friend.
"Don't know man." Aiden answered as he hid his phone from mr.Pulgar.
"Then why are you inviting her?" He felt that something was wrong with his friend.
"Just to see if she's easy to get." He smiled sinisterly.
"What if she gets pregnant?" Rudy never knew his best friend's dark side but ehh a new thing to use against him.
"I'll tell them she was the one who seduced me." He opened his notebook and started to write. "Plus she has a boyfriend 20 years older than her so she must like tough guys like us." He joked.
"I'm not sure about that, that man can be her father or uncle too."
She walked into her first class and to her assigned seat where the rude guy was walking right behind her. He did not take a seat, he threw his bag on the desk and chatted with a guy who was rummaging through his bag.
"Hi." A voice startled her from her drowsiness as she was falling asleep on the desk.
"Umm, hi." She answered uncertain of her answer and of the guy with brown eyes sitting next to her.
"Are you new here?"She could see that he was trying to be friendly but behind his brown eyes she saw evil lurking.
"Yeah." She answered.
"Have you heard of the party tonight?" He asked.
"No, I don't talk to anyone in here." She rubbed her eyes because she was almost falling asleep.
"Oh, real. Well do you want to go?" He asked with a sympathetic smile.
"Umm, no. I don't know or have anyone to go with so no." She smiled hoping the guy would go away.
"Well I'm Aiden and if you want you want I can come with you because i don't have anyone to go with."
"I don't know if dad would let me go at all." She smiled as sweetly as she could to ward him off.
"Ohh, can you sneak out after he sleeps?" He was trying hard to get her.
"No, I don't have a reason to." She hated the guy.
"Can I talk to him?"
"I rather you don't." She could hear other people's silent conversation.
"Why not? Is he strict?" For a moment he looked sad.
"No, he is really cool." She smiled sweetly.
"Then why don't you want to go?"
"I hate parties, they're the worst things I can think about." She muttered as she opened her notebook full of sketches and started to draw ignoring Aiden. He gave up trying to talk to her and went back to his chair.
"How did it go?" Rudy asked.
"She can go but she doesn't want to come." He sat on his chair while Rudy sat on the table.
"Damn, it's either she's antisocial or just playing hard to get." He looked at her with a dazed look in her eyes as her hand moved in wide arcs.
"Not sure, dude." Their teacher walked in and everyone went back to their seats. She was still drawing as the teacher started teaching. He didn't mind her drawing, she wasn't disrupting the class. Her drawing was not about hearts and flowers. Instead it was an old worn small house with overgrown vines. Broken windows. It's unattended dead grass, flower beds, and dead trees gave the house an eerie feeling.
"What does it mean?" Rudy asked as he leaned over her shoulder startling her out of her daze.
"What?" She asked confused.
"What does your drawing symbolize?" He pointed to the drawing.
"I don't know." She turned back to her drawing.
"But you're drawing it?" He was trying to keep her involved into a conversation with him.
"Just because I'm drawing it doesn't mean that I know the meaning behind it." She turned back to her drawing.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry." He apologized sarcastically with a smirk in his lips. His sarcasm annoyed her and not including that she was already annoyed by his presence. Thunder rumbled near the school, as if it was right on top of the school, he jumped startled.
"Well I'm sorry but I rather be angry instead of cowering like a pussy cat because of a little thunder." She smiled as the slight fear in his face brought her pleasure.
"You are nothing but an emo faggot who's playing hard to get." He came back with a response immediately because he was not going to let a little girl embarrass him.
"At least I know how to keep my dick inside my pants." She leaned back on her chair with a slight smirk in her lips that you had to look closely to see it.
"Like you knew how having a dick feels like." One of the back legs of the chair gave in making him fall and hit his head on the corner of the table behind him.
"I may not have one but I know the many irresponsabilities it comes with." She grabbed the heavy forensic textbook and dropped it on his crotch leaving him in pain, she went back to her drawing. Her teacher rushed to her table to check on Rudy who was still on the floor.
"Mr.Evans. Get off of your lazy ass and get back to work." He looked annoyed as he turned to look at her. "And Ms.Luna give me your diary." He snatched the journal from her hands and walked to his desk to then put it under a magnifier and show it to the class. The board was full of weird and strange drawings. Little dead girls floating frozen and peacefully on rivers. People asleep in their beds with their homes burning to ashes around them. Dead babies in hospital cribs. Boys getting painfully beaten to death. Mothers holding the dead bodies of their children. Husbands, parents, men holding guns to their heads as they pulled the trigger. Boys playing with guns and accidentally getting shot. Teenagers overdosing on drugs. Pregnant teenagers holding weapons to their womb ready to kill the unborn child. The worn down little house had a small child left back crying waiting for her family to come back for her.
"Mis Luna, Where did you get this pictures?" Her teacher asked terrorized by the reality of the drawings.
"Get out of here your mother needs to talk to you before she leaves this world." She whispered as she slipped her notebook out of his fingers and sat on her chair. He started running as fast as he could leaving everyone confused with what it had just happened. Rudy was frozen in fear, there was a drawing of a little girl that drowned on the pool of her house. That little girl was wearing a fluffy tutu with ballerina shoes and two pigtails. Those were the same clothes his little 5 year old sister had been wearing when she drowned on the pool of her house. Aiden was pale. There was a drawing of a teenage boy with a gun aimed at his head by a masked robber while a small boy hid in the closet. The same way his brother had been killed in a home robbery. He was only trying to protect him while his parents were out working and he was left to babysit him. It all happened so fast right in front of his 4 year old eyes.
"H...h...how....." She stuffed her things in her bag and calmly walked out of the room. She walked past deans trying to not get caught and slipped out of school with her hoodie on. She walked while listening to music and somehow she ended up in a park. She started to look at the handball courts and as she made her way there she found it empty. She spent her time in the handball court playing handball with some other teenage boy of about her age.
"Nice game." He complimented her handball skills, she had won half of the games they played together.
"Not bad yourself." She tried to catch her breath as she bent over on the handball wall.
"Are you from around?" He offered her his half empty water bottle, she took it and drank half of what was left of it and gave it back to him.
"Yeah, just moved into town." More teenagers were making their way towards the handball courts.
"Really?" He smiled. "What school do you go to?" He asked.
"Don't know the name of the school but I know that it's somewhere near." She grabbed her bag and sweater and started to make her way out of the court.
"I go there too. Can I have your facebook?" He asked.
"Yea." She grabbed his phone and searched for her facebook account to befriend herself.
"Ok, I gotta go home." She walked out of the court before the other teenagers walked in it disappearing in the crowd of people. It was 3:49 am when she came home. she made it home safely but she craved to be free and spent most of her time in the woods behind her house. She needed to be there because she didn't want to be home alone inside of an enclosed space. She didn't want to remember of what she didn't do to hide her notebook. But how she could of have explained her drawings, then again she couldn't explain them. She always got lost as soon as her pen touched the paper. The only thing she knew was that once the drawing was complete she could see the story and meaning behind it. Inside the woods she grabbed her notebook, and burned it. She watched the paper burn to ashes. The pages burned one by one until a drawing of a dream catcher behind the ear of a dog or wolf howling appeared. She had never drawn it but as she watched it burn the drawing disappeared leaving a blank page turning to ashes. She grabbed a monster from the fridge and drank it as she made her way to her room. She passed out as soon as she laid her head on her pillow.
