She didn't run instead she growled. The anger rising up unsettled her making it impossible to control her form shifting.
"If no one survives the power goes to Lilac." Her bones started changing shape, size and position. "Take dad home. Tell him that I love him, he's the best dad I could have ever dreamed of." Dennis nodded as he watched her turn into her grey wolf form. Wolves from the tribe came out of their hiding spots after the lost princess. He swam through the river to get to Jacob but as he neared him a brown wolf almost chomped his leg off causing him to fall. While he was on the ground he produced a pocket knife out of his pocket and stabbed the wolf through his skull. Killing him. He scrambled to his feet and made his way towards Jacob.
"I know, I know. She's not a human." Dennis smiled a he snapped Jacob out of his shock and confusion .
"What's going on?" Jacob asked.
"Don't worry about it." Dennis told him as he cut the rope and helped him on his feet.
" But that's my daughter." He tried to shove Dennis away to help the giant wolf he knew as his daughter but he was too weak to even stand.
"She doesn't want you to get involved in this." Dennis helped Jacob walk through the woods, he was weak that he couldn't even hold his head up.
"Don't worry, sir. We're close to your house." Dennis tried to convince Jacob to keep on but he knew that he was trying to convince himself. He tried to believe that Luna didn't need his help. Dennis heard sticks and leaves crunching under the weight of something. That something was coming their way. He shoved Jacob as hard as he could to the ground to get out of the way of a wolf. The wolf growled at him before launching towards his neck. Dennis turned into his Wolf form and the two of them snarled at each other while attacking each other. They both circled each other getting ready to attack any moment. Jacob moved and the wolf attacked. Dennis could not get a good grip on the wolf's jaw but he managed to fracture it. The wolf charged again but this time Dennis charged too, knocking him off balance. And took a bite the wolf's throat. The wolf struggled to get free but Dennis bite hold was strong and soon the wolf's life left his eyes. Dennis turned back into his human form. He was injured but despite that he helped Jacob on his shoulder and guided him through the woods. It was an agonizing slow walk but they managed to get to the house.
"Are you trying to get killed?" Jacob asked as he laid on the floor.
"I can't, only the princess can let me in." Dennis laid next to the door as he bleed.
"What?" Jacob asked.
"The house's guarded by a spell Luna casted."
"Was she involved in some type of cult?"
"No."
"Then how do you explain the two of you turning into giant dogs?" Jacob did not try to wipe away a tear that escaped him. He was feeling like an idiot because he had never know his daughter was a giant dog, how did she hide that from him?
"We come from an ancient tribe that can turn into humans and wolves."
" What do they want from her?" He felt useless because he couldn't help his daughter.
" They want to kill he so her sister can take over the tribe."
*A sister?* Jacob tried to sit up but he couldn't.
"Sister?" He asked.
"Luna is a triplet. She's the youngest." Dennis tried to stop the bleeding by putting some pressure on the one on his torso.
"I only saw ne, where's the other?" Jacob tried to sit up again and this time he sat up. He then ripped what was left of his shirt and tied it around Dennis' leg.
"The one you saw was the oldest one, the one that followed was killed after birth."
It was 9 against 1, Luna was out numbered. She had no choice but to fight, even if she won there was no way she was going to make it out alive. The wolves attacked her from all angle. She couldn't attack, if she attacked she was left exposed. She launched herself at the wolf in front of her, tearing his throat open. Another wolf threw her into the river, she turned back into her human form and dragged herself out of it. The wolves jumped into the river to get to her. She tried to run but tripped over Dennis' bag, making its contents fall. She saw black metal coming in contact with the rain hidden between books and clothes. She scrambled to get whatever it was as soon as a wolf jumped on her and bit down on her arm. She grasped what seemed to be a wooden knife handle and stabbed the wolf with all her force. The black obsidian blade entered into his throat. His blood felt warm as it trailed down her hand before the cold raindrops washed it away.
*Snap out of it. You got seven more to kill.* She ran into the woods as she saw that some of the wolves were turning back into their human form and they had their bows and arrows tied around them. She ran as fast as she could through the woods. She felt the arrows cut her skin but many failed to fatally enter and kill her. As she kept on running she felt there was something wrong with her body. There was something on the arrows. The tribe men had coated their arrows in poison and was killing her.
* I can't win.* She thought to herself as she stumbled on a tree root and fell. Someone had gotten a good shot at her and an arrow was sticking into her back. The biggest wolf of the tribe snarled at the pack. He kept them away from the bastard so he could kill her and show his dominance. He approached her while changing form.
"Never had I thought she had triplets." Watoc smiled as he circled her with an arrow aimed at her.
"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked while gasping for air, the poison made her body feel as if it was on fire and not even the rain would cool her down.
"Isn't it obvious?" He asked amused.
"Not to me." She smiled as she kicked his leg, knocking him off balance making him fall on his knees and slashed his throat. He could have healed himself with a spell but he was choking in his own blood. The blood stopped him from uttering the words he needed for the spell. As the life left his eyes, as soon as she had slashed Watoc's throat the men and wolves attacked her. She didn't care about killing. She wanted to taste the fear and failure in their flesh and blood, to be dominant.
