13. The truth about the moon

When Luna woke up, her room still smelled of incense and next to her Dennis was asleep on her bed. She got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. When she got out of the bathroom she found the clothes that he borrowed folded on an organized bed but he was gone. While she was getting ready her phone vibrated with a text from Dennis.

Dennis Garcia: I'm walking you to school.

The Wolf Inside: No. Dad is dropping me off

Dennis Garcia: Where should i wait then?

The Wolf Inside: Don't wait for me.

The Wolf Inside: I got things to do

Dennis Garcia: Where?

The Wolf Inside: Nowhere important

Dennis Garcia: Can i go?

The Wolf Inside: No

Dennis Garcia: Why not?

The Wolf Inside: it's a private matter

Dennis Garcia: involving what?

The Wolf Inside: My period

She hated it when people questioned her, as a child she would stop talking for days without uttering a sound. She walked out of her room and ran out of the room with the excuse of having a test and she had to be in school early.

Luna walked through the woods to get to where she wanted to go. She was always aware of her surroundings because it was an instinct and habit she had since she was a child. She wasn't in the woods to hunt but to investigate what the princess had been the night before. She kept on walking when she caught a soft fading scent mixed with blood. She followed the scent, she couldn't find the source, the scent was everywhere on a 30 yard perimeter. She stopped looking for the source from where it came from as soon as she started finding human remains. She was the only person around as she looked around. As she looked around she spotted the place where the body was discovered and approached it. From that one spot she looked around and found her. She was hiding behind a fallen tree.

"Come out. I can see you." She approached the tree, she cowered. " It's ok. I don't bite." Luna smiled.

"But you bit me." She started to cry.

"It was my sister who did it." She explained to the crying ghost.

"But how do I Know you're not lying?" She asked with tears in her eyes.

"Did you see what was on her chest?" Luna asked as she watched her nod her head and pulled down her shirt revealing the place between her breasts. She touched the birthmark before drying her tears.

"But it was different like a circle." She stuttered as she traced a circle over her crescent moon birthmark.

"There are two other different ones. One of the sisters that carries them is dead and the other one is killing people."

"Do you want to have tea with real queens and princesses?" Luna asked as excited as a little girl. The little girl nodded. "Then go through those big doors and you'll find them." The little girl held out her hand and Luna took it. They both walked towards the doors of silver iron. The little girl disappeared leaving Luna standing alone in the woods.
