19 | that's her power
Nino's POV
Gosh, that was a close one. Thank goodness Alya and I finally made it.
"Nino, get on that side of her!" I heard Alya call and I saw her and Adrien trying to corner Lady Luck. I grinned as I came and blocked the left side so the villain had no choice but to back up.
As the three of us continued to approach her, she continued to back up. Once her back touched the wall, she lifted her palm up into the air, creating some type of black mass in her palm. Then, she shot it out towards Adrien.
"Adrien, look out!" I cried and reached out to him, but Adrien jumped out of the way once he heard my warning, landing on the ground and immediately dodging the hit. Dang, nice reflexes.
Lady Luck quickly turned to me. "You're next, buttercup," She snickered before shooting more black mass at me. I tried to dodge it like Adrien had done, but I wasn't as stealthy as he was, and the black mass hit my leg. I fell to the ground and began to cry out in pain the moment I felt the pain what Marinette felt.
"Shoot!" I cried as I held my upper leg, trying to ease the pain by rubbing it. "Ahhhh!"
Alya quickly ran to my aid the moment she heard my agonizing cry while Adrien continued to distract Lady Luck.
"Let me see!" She practically begged as she tried to remove my hands from the spot. When I looked up into her eyes, she was staring at my hands fearfully as she tried to remove them from my wound. Once I did move my hands out of the way to allow her to examine it, her eyes furrowed in confusion as she stared at my at my leg.
The pain was extremely painful, and I did my best not to cry as I looked up at her, just as confused. "Alya, are you just going to sit there and let my body lose all its blood?! Do something!" I begged, keeping my gaze away from my leg, afraid it might be a lot worse than I thought.
Her gaze left my leg to look into my eyes. "Look at your leg," She said it in the most calmest way possible. What?! Look at my leg?! But it could be possibly bleeding and be an open wound! Is she insane?! Well... I shook my head, discarding those thoughts. That was debatable. I listened to her command and hesitantly turned my head to look at down at my leg... and what I saw blew my mind.
Nothing?!
"What? But how? It hurts like no tomorrow." I whined as I grasped my leg again. How could I have this much pain when nothing was wrong with my leg?
"That's her power..." I heard Alya say and I looked up at her. "It's not real pain."
Wha...?
Then Alya and I both snapped back into reality as we saw Lady Luck throwing a chair in Adrien's direction. Even when he wasn't a black cat, he sure knew how to move. "I have to help him." Alya said as she stood up.
"I'm coming too." I immediately tried to stand up as well. I had to help my best friend... but my leg gave in and I fell back on the ground, crying from the throbbing pain.
"As much as there is physically nothing wrong with your leg, you need to stay here." Alya said, looking down at me. "You can't do anything if you're feeling so much pain."
I nodded in agreement. Yeah she's probably right. "Okay, you're right, just be careful." I watched as she nodded at me with a smile before she ran back to go help Adrien.
"Adrien! Don't let her strike you!" Alya called out as she ran to him.
Adrien only nodded as he continued to keep his attention focused on the villain.
"Any idea on where the akuma might be?" Alya asked when she reached him.
Adrien shook his head. "I have no idea... there doesn't seem to be any object that has caught my eye."
But before Alya could even reply to Adrien, she too fell to the ground and cried out in pain. Adrien's eyes darted to her at the sound of the agonizing cry and when he realized what had happened, he quickly knelt by her side. Alya's cries were not any louder than the villain's crackling laugh.
Alya's been hit.
