15 | now you know
Alya's POV
"Wait what? The same girl? What are you talking about?" I asked, keeping my eyes locked on his. Curiosity was just bubbling off of every word I spoke.
What in the world was he talking about?
He gulped, "There's something I need to tell you both that I recently found out..."
"Okay?" Nino questioned oddly, and I bit my lip out of nervousness.
Adrien seemed to be sweating from his own nervousness as he rubbed both of his hands together anxiously. "Well um... I uh recently found out Ladybug's identity—"
Before he could even finish his sentence, I startled both boys by screaming an, "OMG!" so loud that it spooked the both of them. I had no regrets. I began to squeal as I jumped up and down in excitement.
Ladybug's identity?!
I had been dying to know!
I didn't even care if I was destroying both boys' eardrums. "WHO?!" I squealed, still squirming with excitement.
He sighed, removing his hands from his ears, his eyes still wide at my outburst. "Well... um— Ladybug is... Marinette."
"...."
"...."
"...."
"Pfft what?" Nino began to crack up laughing, but I just stood there trying to comprehend what the blonde had just confessed.
Did I hear clearly when he said Ladybug was Marinette?
Wait... there's no way.
Marinette would tell her best friend that she is the most famous superhero of Paris, Ladybug, right?
Marinette and I told each other everything. She would never keep such a big secret like that from me...
Right?
"You're joking right?" Nino asked, breaking my thoughts. He had stopped laughing and had a serious look on his face as he stared at his friend.
Adrien shook his head. "I'm not kidding, Nino. I'm dead serious."
Everything went silent. Nino didn't speak, Adrien didn't speak, and I didn't speak.
Marinette is Ladybug.
Ladybug is Marinette.
I couldn't believe this.
How could she not tell me?
We are best friends!
Did she not trust me?
I could keep a secret.
The fact that two of my friends were the superheroes of Paris was unreal.
Was I that blind that my best friend and my other friend were both superheroes?
Finally I spoke up, I had to make a decision. It was now or never; Lady— erh Marinette, needed my help. "Okay, what exactly is it that you need us to do?"
Adrien's head shot up to look at me with surprise. "Wait, you still want to help me?" He seemed to think that I was going to change my mind. "You're not upset?"
"I can't say I'm not upset that Marinette didn't tell me," I answered, looking at him straight in the eye. "But, there is no way my best friend is staying akumatized."
A smile began to form on Adrien's lips as he turned to Nino. "Will you still help, dude?"
Nino looked at Adrien, then at me, then back at Adrien. "Yeah," he finally replied, "Marinette needs our help."
Adrien smiled big and went to hug us both, but, I pushed him back, arching a brow at his affection."We don't have time for the 'mushy' stuff. We need a plan."
"Yeah, I agree." Nino agreed.
Adrien simply smiled. "Okay, well, I actually made a deal with Marinette... AKA Lady Luck."
"You did?" Nino questioned, confusion clear in his tone.
"Yes," Adrien replied, clearing his throat. "She almost caught me at the shopping mall earlier. I would've been toast if I hadn't offered her a deal. I told her for my safe passage, I would retrieve Chat Noir's miraculous for her and she gave me three days to do so. So, we have three days to come up with a plan." He grinned happily.
I blinked rapidly at the nonsense I had just heard.
What the what?!
What was this boy thinking?!
He's the freakin Chat Noir!
Not only that, but now we are running on limited time?!
"Are you out of your mind?!" I growled, pretty aggravated.
Adrien put his hands up to defend himself. "Hey wait, you haven't heard my whole 'plan' yet."
"So far, your plan sounds pretty stupid to me!" I spat, placing my hands on my hips.
Nino rolled his eyes before placing his arm in front of me to block me from getting any closer to the blonde idiot. "Relax Alya. Let him finish."
"Alright," I groaned, backing up a bit as I tried to clam myself down. "What is your stupid plan."
Adrien shot me a warning look, yet it didn't phase me for a second. I simply raised a brow in response. Adrien shook his head slightly before inhaling a deep breath. "Well, when I confront her, I was thinking of just talking to her first. Try to reason with her."
"Reason?" Nino questioned, and it looked like he was about to laugh.
Was he seriously trying to 'reason' with a villain?
"Reason? With an akumatized victim?" I wanted to laugh also. "Do you honestly think that will work?"
"I know it sounds like a long shot." Adrien sighed, "But it dosen't hurt to try."
"I guess not." Nino huffed.
"Well... let's just hope your plan works." I replied, knowing it would most likely NOT going to work. "But just in it case... let's use these three days for good use and come up with a plan B."

Not much to say about this chapter.
Do you think Adrien was being smart making this 'deal' with Lady Luck?
Edit from older self: no, no he wasn't
Well, tbh, has Adrien been making smart decisions in this book at all?
Okay, I'll back off now and leave the poor cinnamon roll alone.
