girl meets truth
"EYES, LOOK your last. Arms, take your last embrace. And, lips, oh, you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss." Lucas or should we say Romeo said Sophia who played Juliet.
Sophia didn't even know how she got the part over Riley.
Riley made Sophia try out. She said she didn't want to try out but did it for the sake of Riley and look where she ended up.
Lucas was just about to kiss her but was stopped when Farkle jumped on stage.
"Back off!"
"What meanest thou? Spear carrier... who havest no lines." Lucas questioned.
"You tried to kiss my woman. This I cannot allow. Prepare to die!"
"Farkle, what are you doing? It's "Romeo and Juliet."" He whispered to him.
"Well, now it's "Romeo and Juliet and Farkle." I play Farkle."
"Dude, I'm supposed to kiss the girl. Shakespeare said."
"Who thinks the spear-carrier should finally get to kiss Juliet?" Farkle asked the audience.
"Yeah, you kiss that girl, you crazy spear carrier." Maya shouted from the audience.
"Woo" Sophia heard Riley say.
"Harks! You cometh uppeth here and getteth kissed too."
Maya rolled her eyes but walked on stage anyways, Riley trailing behind.
"Thank you, thank you. You're too kind, seriously." Maya mumbled.
Sophia scooted over a made room for Riley and Maya.
"How you doing?" Riley asked.
"I just don't understand how we end up in situations like this." Sophia confessed.
School hallway
After the play was over Riley, Maya, Lucas, and Sophia came out and got applause from the crowd but Farkle, on the other hand, didn't get applause when he came out so Riley clapped for him, while a few moments later everyone else clapped.
"Thank you. Thank you, Farkle Nation!"
"Farkle, come here." Sophia said walking towards the boy.
Sophia was always blunt with Farkle, she wanted what was best for him.
"Sophia, don't. He thinks he was good." Riley said.
"Yeah, I'm gonna fix that." Maya said.
"But you can't tell him the truth. You'll crush him." Riley said.
"Oh, We can tell him the truth. It's you who can't tell him the truth because you're afraid."
"I'm not afraid. I'm nice."
"You're saying we're not nice?" Maya asked her.
"No, I'm afraid to say that."
'Tell him the truth. You know Farkle. You know what will happen if you don't." Sophia told her.
"Farkle. You were so- what are the best words?" Riley asked him.
"He killed the play. Those are the words." Maya said.
"Those are the only words. You killed the play. Tell him." Sophia told Riley.
"What? What do they mean?"
"They mean you killed it, Farkle. Killed It! Showbiz talk." She told him.
"Actually I thought I ruined the play. If you would've told me I ruined the play, I would have believed you. I would have been crushed, but I would've believed you." He said.
"How could I crush one of the best actors working in middle school today?" Riley said.
"I'm a good actor? What if I'm better than good? What if I'm great? What if I'm the greatest actor who ever lived, and I never knew it? That would be sad."
He took a pause.
"Wah. It's okay, it's okay. I was acting. Thanks, Riley, my public awaits. Hello, everybody!" He said and walked away.
"You can't lie to him, Riley. You're gonna break our little Farkle." Sophia spoke.
"Oh, I will not. I didn't do anything. This will all go away." Riley said.
Farkle came back into the hallway and started tap dancing like nobody was watching.
"And I think... You broke him." Maya said.
"Hey, Sophia can I talk to you?" Maya asked.
"Yeah."
Maya grabbed her by her wrist and dragged her into the janitor's closet and shut the door.
"Maya, what are you doing?"
"You need to tell Riley how you feel about Lucas."
Sophia sighed.
"What are you saying, Maya?"
"You're lying to Riley, Lucas, and Farkle."
"What does Farkle have to do any of this?"
"He knows everything he is the one that should know about you and Lucas. If not me, him."
"There is no Lucas and I."
Sophia was beyond frustrated.
"Oh, and thanks for calling me a liar."

History with Mr. Matthews
"Nice locket." Riley told Maya.
"You likey?"
"If history's about discovering the truth of what happened in the past, we should spend some time finding out what truth is." Mr. Matthews said completely ignoring the three.
"Where'd you get the nice locket?" Sophia asked her.
"Shh, I come here to learn."
Sophia turned and looked at Riley and they all laughed.
"All through history, people have suffered consequences for telling the truth." He continued.
"Is that real gold?" Riley asked and continued to interrogate Maya.
"Don't know. Doesn't matter."
"They all suffered dearly for having the courage, to tell the truth." Mr. Matthews said.
"So sometimes it's better not to?" Sophia asked him.
"But aren't there consequences for that too, sir?" Lucas asked.
"Yes, there are, Mr. Friar. But in my experience with the universe, no matter what you do, the truth always finds a way of coming out." He said.
The bell rang and Sophia walked out leaving Riley and Maya to talk about that locket.
Sophia stood at her locker when Farkle pulled her into the janitor's closet.
"It took me some time but I figured it out." He said.
Sophia was confused.
"Figure what out?"
"That you like Lucas."
"Not this again" She muttered.
"Look, Farkle I don't like Lucas and if I did I would say something."
"But I know you Sophia you've been my best friend since first grade."
"Farkle this is something I don't want to talk about on here."
"I understand."
Sophia walked out, this day was rough.
Riley's Bedroom
"There's a serious pigeon following me." Maya said.
"How you doing?" Sophia asked her.
She was already there, and before Maya got here Riley was explaining how she thought Maya's locket was stolen.
"Hey, here's a new thing. Where'd you get the locket?" Riley asked.
"He's a very sneaky pigeon, but I'm onto him." She said talking about the bird.
"Because it's gold, it's expensive, and my curiosity gets the better of me." Riley said.
"So I ducked behind the tree to fake out the pigeon. And you know who came over? A squirrel. I didn't say hello though, because I was already in my thing with the pigeon."
"She wants to know if you're stealing things." Sophia told Maya.
"You don't think my dad sends me stuff?" She asked Riley.
"Maya, you've cried to us because your dad doesn't send you stuff."
"Sometimes I walk around the village and I pass stores and I look in windows at things I know I'll never have. So one day, I saw this sitting in a lost-and-found basket. Do you think it's right that somebody loses something so beautiful and never comes back for it?" Maya said.
"Who knows? I don't have a criminal mind. I don't think like you people." She said pointing to Maya and Sophia.
"I walked by the window for months. Nobody claimed the locket, okay? It sat there like a kid that has no- like an orphan. So I claimed it. It's mine now."
"It's not. You took something that doesn't belong to you."
"Riley sometimes the lost and found usually has a certain amount of days that if someone doesn't claim their stuff that somebody can take it." Sophia told her.
"How come you don't tell Farkle the truth, but you have no trouble telling me?" She asked Riley.
"How about Lucas huh? You have to tell him about your feelings for him" She whispered in Sophia's ear.
A pigeon flew into the window and warbles toward Maya like it was attached to her.
"And you stop judging me." She said to the bird.
The pigeon flew away, it looked like a nice pigeon.
"Hey, my father tells my mother the truth, even when he knows she's gonna shove a chicken in his face."
"Sorry, we missed it." Sophia said.
"Yep, I was thinking about you." She said looking at Maya.
"Thanks."
"Cause I love you."
"We love you too." Maya said.
"Then why do you want to end up in the slammer?"
"Here we go." Sophia muttered.
"You won't do well in the slammer."
"I will so." She said.
"You're not going to the slammer." Sophia told her.
"You won't pack right. And you'll forget to bring shower shoes and you'll take somebody else's from the lost-and-found. And I think... You're gonna get toe fungus! And I think you deserve to get toe fungus because they're not your shower shoes. They're not!" Riley cried.
"That's adorable." Maya said.
"I think you're a thief."
"That's not."
"You think I'm afraid to tell people the truth? I'm not, and I now await your praise." Riley said opening her arms for Maya.
But Maya was already out the window.
Sophia went out the window looking for her but she was already gone.
"Maya?" was the last thing Sophia heard Riley say.
John Quincy Adams Middle School.
"I got something to say to you." Riley said.
"I can't hear you. Baddada dadaa dadaa..." Maya said covering her ears.
"I'm talking to you."
"Da da dadaa. Whata whata whata, waa waa waa. And... Go." She said once she finished singing.
"Whether or not you're a thief or not a thief, or you stole the locket or you didn't, it doesn't belong to you. It belongs to somebody else. And you have to tell the truth about it because you are upsetting the universe. And the universe is going to have the truth come out anyway." She said in one breath.
"And what about you? When are you gonna tell the truth to Farkle?" Sophia asked.
"I hardly think the universe is upset with me for being nice to Farkle. I mean, what could possibly go wrong there?"
"Hey, Chess Club, you can move King's Knight to Bishop Six, and then you can eat it! 'Cause I quit the Chess Club 'cause I'm an actor, 'cause Riley said so." Farkle said walking past the chess club.
"Cause Riley said so." Maya and Sophia repeated.
"Hey, Chemistry Club, you know what you get when you put sodium and chlorine together? You're a bunch of losers!" He said.
"Farkle!" Riley shouted.
"Riley. You changed my life. The Farkle you knew is gone. I am now... Farkle!" He dramatically said.
"Whata whata what. What could possibly go wrong? Whata whata what could possibly go wrong?" Maya and Sophia sang.
Riley's bedroom.
"Hey." Maya and Sophia said looking through the window.
"Well, now she's back. Maybe it's not as upside down as you think. It's a nice locket, Maya." Mr. Matthews said.
"Thanks, Mr. Matthews."
"It looks like someone else's an expensive gold locket." Riley said.
"Maybe it is. But, you know, I don't think that matters to Maya at all." Sophia said.
"You don't?"
"You know, it's an interesting thing about lockets. It's usually what's on the inside that matters most to people. Isn't that right, Maya?"
He opened the door to find Topanga standing there with a chicken.
"Yeah, okay."
"Please don't tell anyone this is how I live in my own house." He said climbing out the window.
"What's inside the locket, Maya, that's so important to you?" Sophia asked.
"Who is this family?" Riley asked.
"I don't know. A father, a mother, and a little girl. I just like that they're all together. I'm keeping it." She said.
"Oh, boy." Riley said.
"She's at the front door too. It's like there's two of her." He said coming back into the room and walking to the door only to find her at the door again.
"So what do we do now? Just sit here or what?" Sophia asked.
"Hey, Dad. Can you tell me why I kind of think trying to help Farkle may have been wrong and maybe Maya should keep the locket?"
"I should?"
"Maybe. Is it me that's upside down?"
"You know what, girls? The universe is the most confusing place you'll ever live. But if you listen carefully, you'll find out that it's paying attention and that it cares about you."
"Is that the truth?" Sophia asked him.
"It's the only one I'm still sure of." He said.
Auggie opens the door with a plate of spaghetti and meatballs
"Hey, Auggie, is that for me, Buddy?"
"I made it for you."
"Oh, Auggie, thank you so much. Thank you. Look at this, ooh. This looks good. It's-- It's cold s'ghetti." He said.
"I know it's better warmer, but I don't know how to do that."
"Auggie, I appreciate that you did anything for me at all."
"You said that very nice. Why didn't you say it that way to Mom?"
"What? But all I did was tell Mom the truth."
"Then why did you get cold s'ghetti?"
"Whoa." We all said.
"Whoa. Auggie, are you saying the truth doesn't matter as much as how you treat people?" He asked.
"Auggie, are you saying that the truth does matter, but you should tell it to people warmly?"
"Auggie, are you saying that the universe pays attention to us?" Maya asked pointing to the three.
"Do you people realize that I'm only this many?" He said holding up five fingers and Sophia gave him a high five.
John Quincy Adams Middle School.
"Farkle, I need to talk to you. I've been looking all over for you." Riley said.
"Farkle." Maya said jabbing him with a stick.
"Farkle's gone. He gave up the chess club. He gave up the chemistry club."
"What happened?" Sophia asked.
"Riley happened. Riley told me I was good. And Sophia stood there agreeing. Well, I just auditioned for the next play." He said.
"Are you gonna be in the next play?" Sophia asked.
"I'm not even allowed to watch the next play."
"I'm sorry you stink." Maya said.
"I'm sorry I could never hurt you." Riley said.
"I'm sorry you stink." Maya said again.
"I heard you!"
"Well, it was very important." Riley said.
"You made me think I was this great actor. You filled me up with confidence that I was really special. You made me think I could go after something totally unrealistic." He said standing up.
"Farkle..." Sophia said.
"Thank you." He said walking towards her.
Then he kissed her chin for about twenty seconds and walked away leaving everyone in shock.
Sophia lied down on the platform and thought about what just happened.
"Well... that happened." Maya said.
"Is it over?" Riley said covering her eyes.
"Can we talk about this?" Maya asked Sophia.
"No."
"Because that was your first kiss and it was with Farkle."
"He missed." Sophia said.
"Still counts." Riley said agreeing.
"Now for the rest of your life when people ask you, "Hey, Sophia, who was your first kiss?" you're gonna have to say..."
"Eyes, look your last." Lucas said walking in.
"Oh, yeah!" Riley said pushed Sophia off the platform.
First off, Sophia was Juliet and second, it seemed to hurt her.
"Arms, take your last embrace. And, lips, oh, you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss." He continued.
"Hi." Riley said.
"Hi."
"How long you been here?" Sophia asked him.
Maya grabbed the girl's hand and helped her off the ground.
"Yeah, I saw the whole thing. I just can't believe that little guy stole my moment... Again."
"You thought that was your moment?" Riley and Sophia asked.
"No."
"Oh." Sophia said.
At least she knew he doesn't like her like that.
"My moment will be my moment." He said walking.
"How you doing?"
"I like that we end up in situations like this." Riley said.
NYC Subway Station.
"You're doing the right thing, returning the locket to the store." Riley said.
"I guess so." She muttered.
"Maya, I know how much you want a locket with a family inside it." Sophia told her.
"You want the truth?"
"Yes, please." Riley said.
"My father hasn't sent me anything in a long time. And the universe is probably much too busy to notice whether or not I'm doing the right thing."
"Maya, my mother hasn't sent me anything either. She's has a new husband and 3 other kids that she loves a little or a lot more than me" Sophia told her.
"At least someone truthfully understands." She said.
Riley stopped and looked up to see the same family that's in the locket.
"Hi. I think this belongs to you." Maya said walking towards the family.
"Oh my Gosh. I've been looking all over for that. Thank you." The lady said.
"Thank you." The little girl said.
"Never lose this."
"A cool universe, huh?" Sophia said walking away with Riley, Maya, and the little pigeon.
John Quincy Adams Middle School
Farkle and Lucas were grabbing things out of their lockers and they walked towards the exit.
"So you must be wondering why I kissed Sophia." Farkle said.
"Kinda." Lucas said.
"Why do you care so much about her if you like Riley?"
"Does that matter right now Farkle?"
"No, but you wouldn't care if I kissed Sophia again would you"
Farkle was testing his newly found good friend, seeing if he could break him.
"Farkle-"
"Do you care? Because we can walk to her house right now."
"Farkle you're my best friend so I'm gonna be honest, I don't know about the Riley thing anymore."
"And that's because..."
"Because of the Sophia thing."
"That's all I needed" He muttered devilishly.
"What?"
"Nothing. I promised Maya I would help her with something."
"Okay then, see you later."
"Yeah later."
