Oikawa couldn't take his eyes from the small orange haired boy as he wandered around the guests offering champagne from a solid silver tray. It was because of this that the brunette hadn't noticed anyone approach him.
"Would you like a drink Sir?" Oikawa turned quickly and was met by a dark haired boy with blue eyes dressed in the usual black and white waiters uniform. "Oikawa san, would you like a drink?" the boy asked again. "Tobio chan?" the brunette gasped, "how are you?" "I'm well, thank you" he replied as he turned to walk away. "Do you know that boy, over there?" Oikawa asked pointing at Hinata. "Yeah he plays on the same volleyball team as me at Karasuno" the boy answered, suspicion evident in his eyes.
"Tooru, don't stop the help from doing their job. You musn't converse with these people, they are inferior" Oikawa's mother shouted as other guests around them laughed loudly. "Tch" Kageyama growled whilst walking off in the opposite direction.
"Mother, that behaviour is unacceptable. You shouldn't speak about people like that. You know Tobio, you were his mothers best friend in high school" Oikawa's voice boomed around the room. "How dare you speak to me, your mother, like that in front of our guests" she screamed slapping the boy across the face as people around looked on in horror. The brunette stood wide eyed with his hand on his stinging cheek, he was so angry. "You may have money mother but money cannot buy class" he spat whilst charging out of the house and into the grounds at the back of the property.
He didn't know how long he'd been sat there, it was cold and he could still feel the after effects of his mothers slap. He hated his life, he hated having to be perfect at all times, he hated having to be strong and not being able to show emotion. "Fuck" he said through gritted teeth whilst trying to stop his tears from flowing.
"Are you okay?" a voice asked softly. He looked up and saw the small orange haired boy looking at him with a concerned look on his face. "I - I'm ok..kay" he managed to get out in response. "Here, take this" the boy said handing over a small packet of tissues. "Thank you" Oikawa replied with the most genuine smile.
'Oh my God' Hinata thought, 'he's even more attractive up close and he seems really nice. Not at all like I thought he would be.
"I know that it isn't my place but what that woman just did to you was unforgivable" Hinata began but was interrupted, "you mean my mother?" Oikawa answered. " Forgive me, I'm really sorry, I meant no offence. Please don't fire me. I really need this job" Hinata pleaded on the verge of tears.
"No, it's fine. Don't worry. She's a class less, blood sucking bitch and I have no idea what my dad actually sees in her but I suppose that you don't notice these things when your never about to witness them"
Hinata felt relieved, "I better go before I'm missed and I really lose my job" the boy chuckled. "Will you be okay Oikawa san?" he asked as he retreated. "Wait, what's your name?" he shouted to the small boy. " It's Hinata Shoyo" he smiled back. "Can we hang out sometime Hinata?" Oikawa asked.
"Of course" he replied running back into the property. "Wait I don't know your number" he shouted into the dark night but there was no response.
Oikawa eventually went back inside and bumped straight into Kageyama, "hey Tobio, can you give me Hinata's contact details?" he asked politely. "I'm sorry Oikawa san it doesn't seem right before asking him" the dark haired boy replied. "Will you give him mine please?" he asked hopefully. "Yeah I can do that" he replied whilst handing his cell phone to Oikawa so that the brunette could input his details.
"Please don't mess him around though, he's had a really hard time growing up. Be nice" the boy finished whilst heading further into the crowd of guests.
"I promise I won't hurt him Tobio" he whispered to himself....
