"Dadi!"

"What my Dear?"

"Dadi ! Why didn't Mom didn't come yet?" -- six year old Manik yearningly ask Kalyani.

Kalyani smiled : "I thought my dear Manik only like to be with his Dadi. But now he is missing his mom very much. Don't you like me now?"

"No I like Dadi also. But I want Mom. Why she didn't come yet? I want to see her"

Saying this Manik is about to cry.

"Dear, your Mom and Dad told right that they will come today. They will come. You Don't cry. Your mom's friend is not well. They both went to see her only.. They will come after meeting her. Don't cry. Come Let's go to sleep. Tomorrow you have to go to school. I am going to tell you a super story today" Said Kalyani

"Jyoti!" Kalyani called the maid of the home

"Mam! Did you called me?" asked Jyoti

"Yes Jyoti. Bring one glass milk for Manik" - Kalyani

"Okay Mam!" - Jyoti

Kalyani gave the milk to Manik which Jyoti brought and took him to her room. She started to tell a moral story for him. Manik slowly started to sleep.

After some time, Kalyani too slept.

Around midnight 2.30 a.m Kalyani got up from the sleep panickingly hearing a baby crying outside.

She saw Manik beside her who is in deep sleep.

Kalyani is confused. She got up from the bed without disturbing Manik. She went out of her room

When she came to the Living Area, she saw her daughter in law Nyonika and son Raj are convincing a 3 year old girl. And Jyoti, the maid who is witnessing this scene is also confused!

That little girl seems to not listen any of what Raj and Nyonika told and started crying.

"Who is this girl. Why she is crying like this? Where is the mother of the child?" - Kalyani

"Mom! I will tell you afterwards. First you stop her tears. She is crying badly" -- said Raj worriedly.

"Okay, now tell me the name." - Kalyani

"What Mom! You even forgot my name?" - Raj

"Hey fool! Where did I ask your name? I asked the name of the girl. I don't know that I give birth to a fool like you!" - Kalyani.

Raj smiled sheepishly and looked at Nyonika. Nyonika glared Raj!

"Mom! Name of the girl is Nandini!" said Nyonika

"Good Name only" said Kalyani and picked up Nandini.

She went to the nearby Cupboard where toys are kept.

"Nandini baby. Tell me what do you want. This car is good right?"

"mm.mmm Maaa....Maaa" Nandini started to cry without listening to Kalyani

After seeing all the toys, Nandini stopped crying after seeing a Teddy bear. The teddy bear was so small . It seems to be of same height of Nandini.

"Ohh... My Nandini baby liked this teddy bear right? Okay you itself keep this teddy bear"

Saying this Kalyani gave the teddy bear to Nandini to which she instantly smiled

"Jyoti! Bring Milk for Nandini" - Nyonika said and Jyoti went to kitchen.

"Mom! I went to see my friend who is not well right? She went to serious condition and she can't survive even after going to hospital. Today morning she died. Nandini is her daughter only. Nandini's parents did love marriage against the wishes of their parents. So, there is no one saying relatives for them. Sorry Mom. I took the decision without asking you. I can't leave Nandini as it is there!" - said Nyonika

"You did a very good work. But ....What about this girl's father. How did he send this girl with you?" - asked Kalyani

Nyonika is confused as to what to say and looked at Raj

"Mom! His condition is not good after his wife's death. He is very shattered. He is alive. That's it. We thought that he could not handle Nandini at this condition. So we thought, that we could keep Nandini with us for few days. We will send Nandini after he became normal" said Raj

"Ohh my God! Look at the fate of this little girl. Nyonika, you make this girl sleep. We will talk the rest in the morning" - Saying this Kalyani went to her room.

Raj let out his breath which he is holding in front of Kalyani.

"Somehow we convinced Mom. She doesn't have any doubt on us" said Raj.

"Shhhh. Keep quiet. We are still in the living area. Don't forget. We will speak whatever in our room" - Nyonika scolded Raj.

They both became silent when Jyoti came with milk.

The next morning, Manik woke up by 6.00 am itself. He straightaway went to his parents room without disturbingly Kalyani who is sleeping beside him.

The door of his parents room are wide open. He peeped into the room.Since no one is there, he is about to go out when he saw Nandini is sleeping in the bed hugging the teddybear.

He walked towards the bed quickly and grabbed the teddybear from Nandini's grip forcibly.

Due to this force, Nandini woke up. She looked her surroundings as to know where she is. She then looked at Manik, who is having the teddybear now.

Nandini held out her small hands towards Manik .

"Give. ... me" Nandini said.

Manik glared at Nandini.

"No, I won't. This teddybear belongs to my Sona baby"

Saying this Manik hides the teddybear behind him.

Nandini's eyes are welled up with tears. She started to cry loudly. Hearing Nandini's loud cries, Nyonika rushed to her room from the kitchen.

When Nyonika came to her room, she saw Manik who is holding the teddybear and she could guess what might have happened l

Nyonika sweetly " Manik dear. When did you woke up? And why Nandini baby is crying?"

"teddy....maaa ....maa.. give..teddy"

Saying this Nandini started to cry. This was heard by Raj who just came out of bathroom after shower.

"Manik, give the teddy to the baby" -Nyonika told.

"No Mom. I won't. This teddy belongs to my Sona baby. You only told that you bought this teddybear for Sona" - Manik

Seeing Manik refusing again to give the teddy bear, Nandini started to cry loudly.

"We can buy another one for Sona. Now you give this to this baby" - Nyonika

"No. I won't. I will give this only to Sona. I don't know this girl itself. Why should I give the teddy to this girl?.... See she is crying. I don't like her. See her face. She is ugly"

Manik said this looking at Nandini's face which now became ugly because of the kajal that smudged because of her tears.

Manik suddenly took the water jug which is nearby and poured the water fully on Nandini.

Nandini stunned for a second started to cry very loudly with a wail sound!

This situation was totally unexpected by Nyonika. She became very angry.

"Manik! Why did you do this?" Saying this Nyonika gave a big slap on Manik's cheek.

The slap was such that Manik fell down on the floor near Raj.

Nyonika grabbed the teddy bear from Manik and gave it to Nandini. She took the towel and wiped the water on Nandini.

Manik cryingly hugged Raj's legs.........
