THE FRANKEL FOOTAGE

(Y/N) HARGREEVES

"ELLIOT, DID YOU develop these photos yourself?" Five questioned with the fresh raspy morning voice. He woke me up and dragged me to this dude's place. It's literally 7 in the morning.

"Of course. Can't exactly drop that stuff off at the neighborhood Fotomat. Government has eyes everywhere." Elliot informed as he scooped his spoon into his bowl of cereal. He isn't exactly the sweetest guy out there, but he's an innocuous man who fantasizes about UFOs and conspiracy theories. When he saw me come here, it's like he saw a ghost.

Still weirded out that he had all these photographs of us just hanging on his wall. Just a normal Tuesday for him, I guess.

"I didn't see a dark room." Five added as he reached out for a pen to scribble down on the date of the footage.

"Yeah, I converted the hallway closet," Elliot answered as he adjusted the feedback.

Five saw me, tight-lipped from the photo area. I haven't said a word ever since we arrived. "Hey, you good?" He approached me.

My eyes were still shutting on their own and my mouth feels so dry, didn't even give me the chance to go and fix myself. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"I hate when you open your mouth but you've become less talkative." He murmured, passing his coffee.

"It's literally 7 in the morning, my guy," I muttered as my fingers wrapped around the mug. Took a sip before realizing that Five already had his mouth on the lip, but whatever I'm too tired to freak out.

"Can you develop this?" Five questioned, handing him the yellow box. "Huh. "Frankel Footage." Friends of yours?" Elliot asked, retrieving it.

"Cousins on my robot mother's side. Can you do it or not?" Five answered. "Sure I can."

"For how long?" I finally spoke, after finishing the cup of coffee that he had. "Well, I mean, I'm running low on acetic acid. Beeker's Cameras are open today, but it's two miles away. I mean, I'd have to take the bus. On the other hand, Gibson's is only ten blocks away, but I gotta cut through the park, and there are pigeons—" I'm pretty sure Elliot's blabbering makes Five want to skin himself.

"Elliot," Five finally called out.

"Attention all units, we have code 3-15 at the Holbrook Sanitarium." A man on the radio informed. The location mentioned was where Diego was confirmed. "Fugitives on the run," Elliot mumbled.

"Twenty-five patients still at large. Many are considered armed and dangerous."

"I'm betting Dad's whole bank account that's Diego," I commented while Five was displeased that it was him.

"Who's Diego?" Elliot questioned, lowering his back to get clear audio of the telegraph.

"Imagine Batman, then aim lower."

"So, this is the address of where our maniac brother came, huh?" I spoke. We have been walking for 30 minutes and the timeline never failed to amaze me. Just cross out the racist and misogynistic ones, the aesthetic is what I'm into.

"I just can't believe we're going home..." I muttered. Five held the same serious expression with mouth relaxed and eyebrows secured.

"Yeah, and before that there's something I've been meaning to ask you."

I turned to him and tilted my head to the side. I was damn curious.

As he was about to open his mouth and give away his query, he suddenly paused, with eyes landing far from behind me.

"Five? Five!" I called out, but only he walked past me to approach a random car resting on the side of the designated building.

'It's so frustrating when people do that. Just tell me what you're going to say! Jeez...'

I shrugged off the thought and jogged towards the car. Five teleported inside and greeted the two. The female with short hair became cautious and surprised that a boy appeared from the back seat.

Five leaned to the side to unlock the door and open it for me.

"Who the hell are you two?" The girl asked, facing both of us as she became wary of our arrival.

"Hi. I'm his loving brother." Five waved with a fake smile. "And I'm his loving sister." I added, doing the same thing.

"Who left me to rot in the nuthouse." Diego asserted. "To protect you from yourself." Five replied.

"That's quite sweet." The unnamed woman commented.

"Yeah, we also want to kill each other," I added, emphasizing each word that was meant for Diego to be heard. "Well, just one brother." I continued.

"Okay, the three of you, out," Diego ordered.

"Lose the crazy lady and come with us. We have important business." Five demanded seriously while the woman took offense to what he said.

"I'm not going anywhere with you two," Diego claimed while Five bit his lip.

His eyes came exploring the outside and found a policeman patrolling the area. "Okay, fine," He contended. He then moved closer to the other side of the window and yelled. "Officer!"

"Hey!" Diego cried out as his hand reached out for Five. If he lays a hand on Five, I will bring hellfire.

"I hear there's a reward out for you two." Five opened up with a winning smirk.

"He's bluffing," the lady spoke.

"Five never bluffs," I joined, watching as the two glared daggers on each other.

"Yep. He doesn't... Fine. I'll go."

"What about me?"

The girl said, biting her lip as she shot me a smile. I don't want to admit it, but I really want her to come so my fingers are crossed.

"And I'm bringing the crazy lady."

Lila started the engine as Diego composes himself, in fear that we'll return him to his nightmarish institution.

I'm assuming that the girl in the driver's seat is someone he met from that rigid place. Though she doesn't seem crazy, considering that Diego let her tag along with our plan.

I glance beside Five, who had the same grumpy look before we arrived. Things between us were still awkward. I just can't bring myself to act the same for some reason.

"So... What's your sister's name?" The woman at the front seat questioned as she took a brief examination of my attire in the rear-view mirror.

"Oh. Her." Diego said as if it were a virus to say my name. "She's (Y/N) and she's annoying so I don't recommend talking to he—"

"I'm Lila by the way." She introduced herself with a smile.

I smiled back and leaned closer from the back. "Nice to meet ya'... Sorry about my two of my idiot brothers, but mostly my apology is all in for Diego, he's a handful."

"Oh, you tell me. He thinks he's the next Superman or something..." Lila commented, which made me snicker.

"He's more of a Batman with poor aim..." Five mumbled to himself as he continued to watch out through the window.

The secret agreement to make someone my best friend instantly is the Diego slander.

"God, I know right! And when he does these old man thing where he coughs obnoxiously!" I brought up which made Lila open her mouth in amazement.

"Yeah! And he sneezes like an old guy too, it's really infuriating. He's just testing my patience so—" Lila and I were giggling when suddenly Diego butted in.

"Okay. Enough." Diego barges into the conversation with a harsh tone.

Both Lila and I shut our lips tight as we tried to swallow our leftover laughs at the back of our throat.

We failed and ended up laughing.

"Haha. Yeah. Very funny." Diego remarked sarcastically as he tilted his head to the window with an annoyed glare.

Fun Fact: Five loved doing art. He practiced drawing (Y/N) when he was in the apocalypse so in case he lost the photograph of her, he'd have an alternative for it. He also drew all of his siblings.

A/N: i'm gonna stop with the dark humor now lol.

one day because of the cringe worthiness i'll prolly delete my fanfics 🧍🏻‍♀️
