You're very pretty, you know that?

THE SWEDISH JOB

IT WAS ALREADY DAWN when we went back to Elliot's. We didn't find Diego and in the end, Five and I decided to leave him. We reached the door with stiffed legs and bruised heads. The boy beside me wasn't much of a knocking-boy-scout-cookie-seller, so he had us teleported inside.

I almost tripped when he had done it. "Yeah, that never gets old," I said, as I massaged my temples. "Well, get used to it, sweetie," Five commented.

Lila was inside treating a half-naked Diego on the sofa with some kind of heat gun applied to his wounds. "Oh. He isn't dead." Five spoke. He sounded dissatisfied.

"Disappointed?" Lila replied.

"Oh, to see you? Always." Five replied savagely as he grabs a tissue nearby to cover the bloody scratch on his neck. He then passed by me towards the fridge to find some ice packs.

"So much hostility in such a tiny package, I don't get why you hang out with him (Y/N)," Lila said with a skeptical look. She perceived the friendship between him and me quite weird. But for someone growing up in the Academy, there's nothing seen as 'normal' anymore.

"Well, he forces me to hang out with me," I answered fakely with an awkward giggle as Five hands me the ice bag to put on my swollen head.

Lila shrugged at our interaction once she realized that my dialogue was the opposite of our actions. Her eyes then went to Five, who had a pissed-off face. He wasn't proud about what happened. "Did you cut yourself shaving? I could teach you how to shave like a big boy." The short haired girl stated.

"No, I just ran into an old family friend." Five noted. He then glanced to the side to find a sleeping Elliot who had been tightly strapped since earlier. "You didn't untie him?" He followed.

"Was I supposed to?" Lila questioned.

I chuckled at her preoccupied state. "He looks comfy. We'll let him go when he wakes up." I said to Five as I headed to the bathroom to find any first aid kit for me to treat Five.

I found an old yet unused kit just below the sink. I went out and laid it down on the small kitchen table. "What's that?" the boy asked.

"It's a remedy for letting a monkey hurt you, so sit," I ordered as I opened the box obediently, following my instructions. "It's a chimpanzee." He readdressed as he places the reddened tissue by the side.

"You should really start taking care of yourself more. You have scratches on your skin, and bruises everywhere... With that type of face, you should be more extra aware." I advised, as dabbed lightly on his skin.

"Since when did you start caring about my looks?" Five asked, irritated.

"When I realized you need me because you don't give a damn about yourself," I cooed teasingly as he rolled his eyes.

When I began my modeling career here, I gave notice to people's appearances more often. I was able to grasp the idea that beauty is subjective and I think that's very nice to know. But when it comes to Five, he's a whole God. He has good genes.

"I'm scared you might break your nose or something and then get surgery for it," I laughed as I applied iodine on his cut skin carefully. "If I had your face, I'd be showing it off and pursue an acting career," I added.

Five eyed me, confusingly. "The hell do you mean?"

"Duh. Why do you think I wear a mask in the first place?" I said with a half-suppressed laugh. Well, I may not show it but I'm an insecure freak. Despite the thing about 'hiding my identity'; There's just something about the feminine community that makes us want to be accepted as the beauty standard. That was the harsh world about girls.

Yes, I make jokes about my insecurities.

The community's comments regarding my whole masked agenda were probably because I was hideous. And I know that I shouldn't let that affect me but come on.

Five kept an intense gaze. I looked up and let out an awkward smile. "What?" I chuckled as I continued a synchronic swipe on my left hand on his slash.

Five raised his right hand to reach on mine, that was doing the job to handle him. His palms gently settled down on top that lined with my knuckles. "You're very pretty, you know that?" He spoke softly with a hesitant yet tough expression.

I felt my cheeks warmed up and my fingertips tingled. A compliment from Five? That's the first. And when I thought he was going to brush it off like what he always does when we have a moment; he continued his protest.

"And I don't want you, to ever doubt yourself... Got that?" He returned with a demanding tone. It sounded more of an order rather than plain advice.

With licked lips, he sets me free and crossed his arms. He signaled me to continue while I did what I was told. I can't help but feel happy. Can you believe that just happened?

I then placed the final bandage. I took a sigh of relief before I spoke again.

"So... Where are we goin' after this?" I closed the box as he stood up and stretched down his sleeves.

"I don't know. But for now, we should rest... You could sleep on Elliot's bed I'm sure he wouldn't mind and Diego can be anywhere he wants. I couldn't give a shit," He said with hands-on his pockets as he walked away.

"Wait, what about you?" I called.

"Me? Gonna go and find some more clues on the table," He explained pointing to the pile on the table. "Wait, are you sure?"

"I spent my adolescents with rough experiences. I'm sure a sleep won't be a downside later when we go out," He claimed. His eyes then roam to the other room.

"Oh, and let's untie Elliot."

Later came, and I had a good power nap enough to have the energy to find our troublemaking siblings.

"Hey, get up, we're leaving." Five's voice blurted out from above.

'God, not him again.'

"Seriously, what's up with you and sleeping? You have literally been in a coma," Five argued as he pulled the blankets off. "So? 12 years is not enough," I exclaimed as I swayed off his hands out of my comfort.

"I found Vanya," Five said, which immediately had my ears perked up.

I raised myself and blinked few times to adjust my vision. "We're heading out now," Five says as I got up.

Vanya was a name I never heard of for a long time. I never thought about her and subconsciously blame her for the end of the world. But why is it hearing her name brought back so many good memories. I was so selfish to think that she was the burden to this family.

Man, I don't know... I'm still having mixed feelings about her.

"The atmospheric radar portrayed that she would be here..." Five explained as he adjusted his breathing. We halt in the middle of some cornfield. She was inside this land.

"Are you sure she's here?" I questioned. Five ignored my question and barges right into the tall grass.

A crawling feeling grazes up into my neck with my hands, feeling like they've been tapped by thousands of hardened feathers. It feels uncomfortable to walk inside this kind of crop.

"So, how sure are you that she's here?" I asked again, growing quite impatient and pessimistic about ever finding her in the middle of nowhere.

The boy in front of me stopped in his tracks in a clear circular path, as if every crop were purposely bent down. It was an example of something seen as 'strange' and will soon be rending 50 years later for having the least amount of evidence out of all mysterious cases.

"Oh, I'm a 100% sure." Five stated. Luckily, we know who was the cause of this deranged 'natural' phenomenon.

"You know Vanya can have another bad reaction with our arrival so as much as possible we should be composed and not let our feelings get ahead of." Five explained. It amazes how much he knows how to behave in everything.

We crossed to the other side once saw moving between crops. This was the living proof that our sister really is capable of destroying the world, but the question is... Does she still want to end the world?

With one last swoosh from Five from the plants, he stopped and glanced to the side.

There was someone hiding.

Five pulled the intertwined greens apart and found the person we were looking for. "Hi, Vanya." He cheerfully greeted.

She was pale as ever and was looking frightened. Looking at her state right now, I reckoned that she stayed there the entire night.

"I'm your brother." Five informed. Though she still seemed puzzled. "I have a brother?" She repeated.

"And a sister." I popped up to his side and did a little wave.

Five and I glanced at each other. We signaled that we knew she had amnesia and this is not a good place to talk about where she came from. It's kinda like a twin behavior where they can read minds.

"Look, you can either stay here and wait for the IKEA mafia to come back and kill you, or you can come with me." Five said, while Vanya followed from behind. "W-Why are they trying to kill me?" she asked in a shaky voice.

Cause you're not supposed to be here, Vanya." Five says. "In Dallas?"

"No. Here, in 1963," he revealed. Another confused look come passes by her fragile face. Who knew a softie like her is capable of putting an end to this miserable world.

"Holy shit." Vanya cursed. She got a view of the turmoil she had done with the harvest. "Yeah, pretty wild, right?" Five commented like a proud father. "It's good to see your powers are still intact. Let's go." he followed.

Every step was a crisp response of the mashed leaves holding onto their lives. A land eroded at the middle part of the sphere as if an asteroid had fallen and disappeared to the naked eye. I wonder what the farmer will make up a story about.

"I can't believe I have a sister..." I heard Vanya mumble to herself. I turned to her and smiled.

The sudden urge for Vanya came up to hold my hand. She did it, and I immediately recoiled at her touch.

Then she stopped and flinches at my reaction. Her expression; confused and her mouth quivering for lost of words. "I-I'm sorry for holding your ha—"

"No, no..." I interrupted, not wanting her to apologize for something she shouldn't be even sorry about. I grabbed her arm and hugged her. "I'm sorry for everything..." I muttered to her as I felt a chilling sensation drive up to my chest down to my spine.

We gently pushed each other apart and stared into each other's eyes. Her dull gaze held in so much pain that was left unsaid.

'I'm sorry for leaving. I'm sorry for not being a good sister. I'm sorry I left you when we were 16. I'm sorry for not recognizing the heartache. I'm sorry for being selfish. I'm sorry I almost forgot about you. I'm sorry that you never felt special. I'm sorry that you felt unworthy of our love. I'm sorry that everything that father's words hurt you and swallowed you whole. I'm sorry that you were the shadow. We're sorry for being blind, Vanya...'

There are so many things I want to say to you, but I can't.

"Come on, guys." Five said as he lets out a short smile before proceeding to the previous direction we entered.

Vanya's fingers intertwined with mine. "Can't wait to hang out with you and our brother." she smiled innocently.

"Me too, Vanya." An image of all my other siblings' flashes into my mind. "Me, too..."
