Underworld Danger
"That was quite the display you put on there, Dabi," Shigaraki complimented the scarred villain as he entered the League's hideout. "And now I see just how far that hero is willing to go."
"Vulture was a one time thing," Dabi responded. "Hawks doesn't want to go through that again."
"Oh?" The way the younger male responded sent a shiver down Dabi's spine. "Is that why you faked his death? Or is it because you're thinking of abandoning the League and didn't want us to use that persona as blackmai-"
"Enough!" The black-haired male snapped. "Hawks was in a lot of emotional pain during the time he was Vulture. He won't act like that again unless he actually loses me from his life. And I promised him that I wouldn't let that happen."
An eerie silence filled the warehouse as Shigaraki and Dabi both glared at each other. Toga, who normally would be either swinging her feet or twirling her knife, sat completely still as she watched the two most dangerous members of the group butt heads. Twice and Compress were also watching, stunned by their sudden aggression.
"Is that so?" Shigaraki asked, a small growl hidden in his voice.
"Yes," Dabi narrowed his eyes, trying to hide his fear.
"Alright then," Shigaraki replied, backing down. "It's obvious that there's no other way for Vulture to reappear, and you're too valuable a member to lose, so I'll leave him be."
"Thank you," Dabi replies.
"You're free to go for now," the blue-haired male leaned back against the wall. "But remember that we will still need to contact you."
"Yeah, yeah," Dabi replied as he turned to leave, but stopped before reaching the door. "Just one question though."
"Huh?" Shigaraki lifted his gaze.
"What made you think I would abandon the League?" He turned so that his turquoise eyes met his leader's. "Just curious."
"Oh, that," Shigaraki briefly scratched at his neck. "Some lowly villain was spreading the rumor around that you were considering on abandoning us; claiming that Hawks was brainwashing you. And after that whole situation with the rogue villain, I was beginning to think he was right."
"Oh, really?" Dabi replied.
"Yes," Compress answered. "And he gave off the impression that he had a grudge against you, so I'd suggest you watch your back. At least until we know where he is."
"Huh," Dabi turned back towards the door. "I'll keep an eye out for him."
