1985 (13 years old)

Hi, my name is Jayla, I'm 13 years old, its 1985, and I'm about to meet my one and only idol, Michael Jackson. My brother, Keenan, works as an engineer in a studio which happens to be the studio Quincy Jones and Michael want to work in tonight and I have never been so excited. Keenan gets the call that Michael and Quincy are on their way and we head out the door. "They say this is one of the greatest songs of all time about to be recorded in this studio. You're about to witness history, Jay.." Keenan brags, I know he's excited because this is the biggest star he's ever worked with. I can't believe I'm going to be there to see it!
We walk in the studio and it was so beautiful everything was so shiny and there were so many buttons. I leaned across the table and looked down to see a big room filled with microphones. "Is that where he'll be?" I asked pointing towards the room? "Yeah" he said, distracted from setting up. "Can I go down there before he comes? Please!" I begged. Keenan just waved his hand and went back to plugging things and unplugging things, so I ran downstairs to the big room. Honestly, I'm only 13 but I've been singing and dancing since I could walk and talk. I want to be just like Michael but I am way too shy to do anything. "Keenan!" I yell, just to see if he could hear me. This room was so big there was a huge echo every time I said something loud enough. This was so exciting. I walk around tapping the microphones and trying on headphones until I put one pair on and I could hear everything. So I tapped a mic, and that was on too! I started playing with my voice in the microphone, laughing and screaming in it to hear my echo. Then I started singing, I guess Keenan heard me because he looked down and started smiling and shook his head. He loved my voice it always made him happy. Finally after a whole hour in the big room I decided to go back upstairs and wait, but right before I turned around I heard "Well hi, who are you?" My mouth dropped......
