Chapter 8: Heroes and Villains!
I fell from the sky where the portal had taken me. I glanced down to see a building that looks like it's been through an earthquake or something.
Oh I'm closing in on it pretty fast. Should probably think of a landing strategy. Hm.
Grinning I turned my body and spread my limbs out eagle style as I continued my descent. "Ya-Hoo!!!" I cheered as I continued to fall towards the building. The wind roared loudly in my ears as I continued to drop, making my adrenaline spike.
Reaching into my kimono, I gripped the cube on my necklace and it electrocuted me. Yellow sparks danced across my body and
I flipped, putting my dominant foot forward. I channeled the power to my leg and as soon as my foot hit the roof it broke upon my touch and I went down. I slowed myself enough to land on a lower floor. Right between Kirishima and Bakugo.
The two looked at me, baffled by my sudden appearance. I just grinned, not minding the Villains scattered about the room.
"Hey guys! How's it going? Thought I'd drop by." I grinned cheekily making Bakugo's face twist in disgust while Kirishima smiled lightly.
Bakugo turned and slammed his hand on a Villain running at him, setting off an explosion as he did so. A Villain rushed at me, his body morphed, with crystals sticking out of his skin.
I didn't bother to dodge and allowed him to strike me, flinging me back. "Yoshiko!" Kirishima shouted.
I merely flipped and landed on my feet with ease. My body sparking as it absorbed his hit and enhanced it. I looked up with a devilish glint in my eyes.
"Heh. Pretty weak. Oh well." I lunged forward, making it to him before he could think of a countermeasure I swung my fist and slammed it into his cheek, the crystals there shattering upon impact and sending him flying across the room.
I turned fast and brought my leg up, striking another enemy and making him tumble. Too easy. And I don't even have that much stored up.
I blocked a strike with my arm and punched another down and grabbed another's arm, flipping her onto the ground. Oh this girl . . . she talked smack behind Tomura's back.
Still having a grip on her arm, I swung one leg over so it's in-between my legs. I snuck a glance at Kirishima and Bakugo.
Both fighting their own battles. So I smirked and twisted and pushed, shattering the bones in her arm. Before she could scream in pain I slammed my foot into her head, slamming her to the ground face first.
I doubt they'd approve of that. So it's good they weren't looking. She shouldn't have talked bad about Tomura. If she didn't I wouldn't have hurt her as much. Well at least I wouldn't disfigure her as much in the very least.
Hm? Ah! I ran over and jumped up and over, using the Villain coming up behind Bakugo as a springboard and rammed my knee into his chest. "I had him moron!" Bakugo shouted.
I pouted slightly, looking over at Kirishima who was fighting near him. "Kirishima~! Bakugo isn't being appreciative!" I whined.
He glanced over and rushed my way, swinging his hardened arm and hitting the Villain sneaking up behind me. "Thank you Kirishima. See! That's the typical response Bakugo!" I turned at the blonde, crocodile tears coming out of my eyes.
The veins in his forehead began to pop. "WILL YOU KNOCK IT OFF?!"
Hehe. Bakugo is so amusing!
"Do you think everyone else is doing alright?" Kirishima asked as he knocked down another Villain. Huh, I wonder. Honestly I haven't seen any of them fight for real.
I expected Bakugo to do well against the enemy, and I guess I'm not all that surprised that Kirishima is doing well. But how about the others?
Well even if some of them defeat these weaklings, they won't be able to hold a candle up to Banri, Ayumi, and Tomura. Let alone Nomu. Well, either way they shouldn't be a bother to the plan so it's not my problem.
"I'm sure they're fine! Our friends are awesome, doncha think?" I asked, grinning cheekily as Bakugo took down the last Villain. Kirishima's face relaxed a bit. But not completely.
"I'm worried about the guys with less offensive ability. Besides, because we ran off ahead, we slowed Thirteen down. If Thirteen had been able to suck up that fog, then this wouldn't have happened!" He admitted, clenching his fist, guilt laced in his voice.
Less offensive ones huh? A few of them aren't that great on the offense. They're probably sucking right now. "If you want to go, then go by yourself. I'm gonna kill that warp gate." Bakugo declared.
I tilted my head a bit and looked at the blonde next to me. "Eh? You're still salty about that, huh?"
He turned quickly and threateningly which made the redhead next to me jump a bit.
"Shut up! That gate bastard is the enemy's way in and out. I'm gonna cut off their gateway route for when the time comes. It's not like we don't have a way to fight the fog."
I thought that the chameleon like Villain would strike Bakugo down, but he noticed him and easily took him down with an explosion. "Anyay, if these small fry are the ones assigned to us pretty much everyone'll be fine, right?"
I blinked a bit, not at all expecting what he had said. Kirishima leaned over to me. "Was he always so calm and rational?" I shrugged, shaking my head. "I didn't know. I thought he was part demon." I responded honestly.
Bakugo's face morphed into his usual anger state. "Shut it you dumbasses! I'm always calm and rational you spikey-haired punks!" He shouted at us.
I pointed at him and grinned. "There!" Kirishima nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, like that!"
Instead of screaming at us some more he turned. "Then go if you want to!" He began to walk away. "Wait!" Kirishima and I called after. He stopped and turned back to us, a sour look on his face.
"Believing in our friends, that's really manly Bakugo! I'll follow you!" Kirishima declared. He had hardened his arms and punched his fists together, making a clanking sound.
"Yeah! You're interesting Bakugo, and I wanna see what you'll do. I'll follow you too!" I clenched my fists and yellow sparks danced a bit as I channelled my power there.
Bakugo stared at us, the same look on his face before turning. "Then shut up and come on." He demanded, taking off.
Kirishima and I glanced at each other before grinning and following after the angry blonde.
As I thought, there weren't any Villains outside of the zones. Well, no one should be except for the man pieces to this game. Looking in the direction of the entrance, I see the door has been broken in. Must be All Might.
He finally showed up, huh? It's about time.
At the rate we're going, we should be able to make it when he dies. Well, that's a big if. Regardless, Nomu isn't a pushover and it is Master's creation. There will definately be bloodshed.
As we neared the plaza, I saw a sight to behold. All Might had Nomu in a suplex, but Kurogiri had made a warp so Nomu wasn't damaged and he reached up and gripped All Might's side, holding him there.
That's it. All part of the plan. They'll pull him in half way and then Kurogiri will close the gate. Tearing the Hero in half. So it's going to work.
Congratulations, Tomura. You really will deliver on your promises.
Yes. This is the start.
I watched with unflinching eyes. Until I spotted Midoriya running at them, heading for All Might. Then Kurogiri popped up in front of him.
Midoriya. Is he going to die . . ?
Bakugo's explosion propelled him forward and off the ground It happened so fast I could barely blink. He slammed his hand with an explosion on Kurogiri's body. "Move! You're in the way Deku!" He shouted before slamming Kurogiri down.
Ice then stretched across the ground and encased Nomu. I followed the trail to Todoroki. Because of his ice, All Might was able to escape Nomu.
No. No. this wasn't a part of the plan!
Kirishima ran ahead and jumped up before descending down towards Tomura. Tomura was able to dodge his attack, and Ayumi and Banri ran at him.
I clenched my jaw and channeled the energy to my legs before lunging towards them. I appeared before him and brought my arm up and blocked Banri's bat. Taking that energy in I let out a battle cry and thrust my arms out, flinging him away.
Of course Banri landed on his feet with ease and Ayumi stood beside him at the ready.
Playing my part, I grinned cheekily. "Hey, Kirishima. A warp, a bird, and a couple of Villains walked into U.A." I started.
Kirishima grinned as well and we got into battle stances next to each other. "And then what happened?" He questioned, playing along with my joke.
My eyes locked with Banri's and I couldn't help how smug my grin became. "They got their asses kicked." I could tell that Banri had smirked maliciously from under his mask, his eyes holding a crazed and bemused look.
"Kacchan, everyone." Midoriya muttered in astonishment. Tears came to his eyes before he wiped them away furiously and faced our enemies again.
"Kurogiri, our exit and entrance has been overcome. We're in a pinch." I almost sweat dropped at the way Tomura had said it. "And yet you sound pretty amused." Banri spoke with an eye roll.
Movement from Bakugo drew my attention to him. He's grinning down maliciously at Kurogiri, applying more pressure to his hand.
"You careless bastard. You're just what I thought you'd be. Only certain parts of you can turn into a misty warp gate. The fog gate covered your actual body, right? Back then . . . If only you were completely made of mist and physical attacks couldn't touch you then you wouldn't have said 'that was close'."
Kurogiri went to move to try and get out of his fix, but Bakugo let small explosions set off on his hand against Kurogiri, making him stop any attempts.
"Don't move! If I feel like you're moving suspiciously, then I'll blow you up."
My eye twitched as Kirishima sweat nervously. "His behavior isn't very Hero-Like." Kirishima murmured. I could only nod in agreement.
I mean even I'm more Heroic. And I'm a freaking Villain!
"In addition to capturing them, they're almost all injured. Kids these days are amazing. They make the League of Villains look bad. Nomu." Tomura ordered.
Nomu, abiding Tomura went through Kurogiri with great struggle since half of him is covered in ice. As he moved his arm and leg shattered off.
Eh. It shouldn't matter. He'll just regenerate. Although watching him break himself seemed to shock and disturb the others.
"Even though his body's broken, he's still moving?" Midoriya exclaimed. "Get back everyone!" All Might ordered.
I feigned shock and horror as Nomu regenerated. "I don't think that's normal." I whispered.
"His Quirk wasn't shock absorbant?" All Might grunted in confusion, standing tall. Tomura chuckled darkly. "I didn't say that was all he had. This is his super-regeneration. Nomu has been modified to take you at 100%. He's a super-efficient human sandbag."
Nomu stood as if his limbs were never broken off, bringing fear to my classmates. I played the part and glared at him, adjusting my stance.
"First, we need to get our gate back. Go Nomu."
Bakugo. Could he survive that? Does it matter? No. But if I interact and this fails then I'm still the perfect little mole inside the school. But if they manage to kill him today then it's all pointless. Choose. Quickly.
Nomu appeared before Bakugo just before I placed myself between the two, preparing for the hit.
I must be smart. Sensei is counting on me! I'll take the hit, but even so Bakugo should be injured enough that he won't intervene.
A little pain is fine.
The next thing I knew, I was behind my friends with Bakugo, marvelling Nomu's punch. All Might had thrown us aside and taken the hit, and what a hit.
That would do damage even to me! Give or take I'd still be able to walk and move around.
"Kacchan!"
"Yoshiko!"
Midoriya and Kirishima shouted in worry as the wind died down. But they soon realized we were behind them, sitting on the ground in surprise. "You dodged? That's amazing!"
I shook my head briefly. "No, shut up scum!" Bakugo's retort was weak, he's still in shock. I gotta admit, even I'm surprised.
He protected us. No one has done that for me in a long time. He knew how strong Nomu was yet he threw us aside and let it hit him instead.
Hell, I didn't even see it properly. I was just there and suddenly here.
As the smoke had subsided, it revealed All Might who managed to block the kick, but was still injured from it.
Man, Nomu did not go easy at all. "Do you not know how to hold back?!" Tomura walked up and stood beside Nomu, making Ayumi and Banri do the same.
"It was to rescue my companion. I had no choice. I mean earlier that, ah that plain looking one. He was about to punch me with everything he had, you know. Violence for the sake of others makes it admirable. Isn't that right, Hero?"
"You know what, All Might? I'm angry. I'm angry at this world that categorizes the same violent acts as heroic or villainous. Deciding what's good and what's bad. 'Symbol of Peace'? Ha. You're just a device to repress violence. Violence only breeds violence. The world will know this once we kill you!"
I listened quietly like everyone else. I wanted them to hear this.
They need to hear this.
"That's preposterous. The eyes of a white-collar criminals like you burn silently. You just want to enjoy this yourself, don't you, you liar?"
I saw the anger flashed through Ayumi's eyes and she took a step forward. "Watch your tongue!" She hissed angrily. Banri pointed his bat at All Might. "And what if we enjoy it a little? The truth is the truth Hero."
"It's five against six." The usually quiet Todoroki spoke. Bakugo and I stood as Kirishima and Midoriya stood beside us so we were all in a line. "Kacchan already exposed the fog's weakness!" Midoriya pointed out.
Kirishima hardened his arms. "These guys are crazy, but if we back up All Might . . ." I nodded in agreement though worry began to flood me for my actual team.
"We can beat them." I don't want the odds against them. "No!" Huh?
I looked over at All Might. "Run away." I'd rather be able to save Tomura if need be, but I know Kurogiri and Ayumi won't let anything happen to him.
"You would've been in trouble if I hadn't done anything earlier right?" Todoroki challenged, making no motion to give up this fight. Which is strange for the quiet prodigy student.
"That was a different story, Young Todoroki. Thanks. But it's fine! Just watch as a Pro gives it everything he's got."
I would like it if it were just All Might against them. Although I have faith that Ayumi and Banri can easily take care of my classmates, I'd like to just make it simpler for Tomura.
"All Might, you're bleeding. Besides times-!" Midoriya quickly stopped what he was about to say, glancing over us briefly. All Might gave him a discreet thumbs up which made my eyes narrow.
No one else seemed to catch it, but I did. What exactly is going on between the two of them.
What are they hiding?
All Might turned his undivided attention back to the Villains, my comrades. "Nomu, Kurogiri. Get him. Ayumi, Ishikawa, and I will deal with the children."
Eh? He used Banri's fake name? That's oddly considerate of him. The three ran at us. "Hey, we've gotta do this after all!" Kirishima warned.
Before any of us could strike, an overwhelming aura of power struck down like lightning and All Might lunged forward, making Nomu do the same.
The two threw a punch, hitting the others fist. Because of the intense power the wind whipped wildly and the ground and surrounding structures crumbled as we were all flung far back.
"Damn. Hey, you talked about his Shock Absorption yourself earlier, didn't you?"
I could hear Tomura ask. "Yes I did!" All Might responded as he and Nomu began to fight in a flurry of fists.
I brought my arms up and lowered my stance to keep from flying completely out of there.
Damn! What's with their strength? This is actually making me get excited. Ah. I grabbed the back o Midoriya's costume and kept him down so he wouldn't fly off like a napkin. Watching in amazement as the two duked it out with their outrageous strength.
No one, not even Kurogiri can get close to them.
"If your Quirk isn't Shock Nullification, but Shock Absorption, then there's a limit to it, right?"
So he's figured that out, huh? I warned Sensei, but no! Don't listen to the girl with the similar Quirk.
I grunted as the wind intensified even more. Damn, they're destroying everything near them! I've never seen a fight like this.
"Made to fight me? If you can withstand me at 100%, then I'll force you to surrender from beyond that!" My eyes went wide.
He's . . . he's pushing Nomu back! But how? That's not possible! Sensei . . . Sensei created Nomu just for him! He said All Might is weakened! He doesn't seem weak to me!
All I could do was stand there and watch with wide eyes as a battle greater than any unwinded right before me.
Mixed emotions tore at me. One being anguish as I could tell we're about to lose. To fail. I dont want to lose. We can't.
But there's something else inside. What is it? It's almost like excitement, but not quite. But it's strangely overwhelming.
"Hey Villain, have you hear these words? Go beyond! Plus ultra!" He struck Nomu again, this time with so much power I could see the kinetic energy exploding and Nomu flew high into the air and crashed through the windows of the dome, still flying.
The entire building shook madly at his final attack and I nearly forgot how to breathe.
He was attacking Nomu so fast so he couldn't regenerate. And not being able to regenerate he was overloaded with those powerful hits.
What is this Hero? This power?
"Now, Villains." I snapped out of my trance and looked forward. "I'm sure we'd all like to end this as soon as possible."
Tomura shook but not in fear. His hand twitched briefly before bringing his hand up. Growling something, he scratched his neck.
Uh-oh. That is not a good sign.
Tomura.
