The Still and Flow of Time. (Important news at end of chapter!!!)
Dark Link's P.O.V.
"Let's go to the movies." "Huh?" "Heh, I want to go see movie with you, D." "Which one?" "How about Rise of the Guardians?" "Alright. Sounds like a plan."
*TIMESKIP*
While watching the movie I realized with a jolt how much time I have left. ...6 months... I think. Not enough. "D?" "Huh? Oh- sorry, yeah?" "I was gonna ask if you liked the movie, but... You seem distressed. Everything ok?" "Yeah. It's fine." I lie. He sees right through me. "...Liar. Tell me what's wrong." "...Would an I don't want to tell you work?" "Fffffffffiiinee."

Link has been noticing that I've been trying to break the Hellslicer or hide it or get rid of it in any way possible. "Why've you been trying to get rid of your sword?" "...Its connected to the all the things I've said I don't want to talk about." "Oh." He says. "Sorry, Link, I just can't tell you." "Ah HA! You said "Can't tell me" that time!" Shit. I think. I don't realize I said it out loud. "Eh?" "...Nevermind!" The last thing I need is for the timer to get cut short... I add in my head. "I hope you know all you're doing is further increasing my curiosity, right?" "I know, Link. It's because you're stubborn. We both are." I say, with a slight smirk. "Good. Because then you know I will find out one way or another, D." He says, and pauses. "I can make you tell me but I don't like doing that and you don't like when I do it and we both know it." Link says in a pleading voice. "...I know. But... If I tell you... It'll happen faster..." I tell him, pushing back with my own plea.

Link's P.O.V.
Dark Link has been sick and getting worse since last month. I can hear him saying something about his sword sometimes. I wait outside his door for a few minutes. I hear nothing, so I open the door quietly. "D...?" I ask, quietly. "You awake?" "..." I can tell he's in deep thought about something. I decide to leave and consult with Navi and Hope. "Do either of you know what's going on?" "No, sorry..." Navi says. "Hope?" I ask, praying to find out so I can try to help. "I... Yes..." "You do know!" "Yes, but... I'm not supposed to talk about it. Dark Link made a mistake by telling me. I think it will still speed it up if I say it, also." "But... Is there a way I can help him?" "Well, no, not without serious sacrifice on your part. And I mean big time. Like, death serious." "Yeah, well, it'll be worth it." I tell her, determined to do something, anything, to help Dark. "...Ok." She says, and pauses. "First thing's first. ...Have you heard the legend of the cursed sword "Hellslicer," Link?" "I have. Why?" I ask, suspiciously. "Well, its real. You know what it can do, right?" "Yes." "Dark Link is one of the "Second wielders" the legend speaks about being able to create. And... Gannon set a death time for him." She says, all the while, I get more and more doubtful I can help. "You know what that means, yeah?" "Yes." I say, steeling my resolve. "He had 5 years. He spent most of that time locked in a dungeon, training to fight you. That was the purpose he was created for, after all. All 3 he had spent there, they had hurt him. Mentally and physically. Then was the day he met you. You were kind to him. Accepting, happy, and just in general an extremely positive light for him to have in this life. You saved him from Gannon, in many ways. He loved it. Reveled in it, even. And you took him with you. Pretty soon after, your relationship started. Then he spent a year and a half with you. Then came now. It was the first time he told you he couldn't tell you. Or, wouldn't, that time. Then there were four. Then three. And now, two months left..." She trailed off then, listening for changes in Dark's condition. Shaking her head, she told me the rest. "Sadly, there's only one thing we can do, now that he is this far gone..." "Tell me. I'll do it." "Patience." She said, and started telling me what to do.
*TIMESKIP*
Still 2 months.
"First things first... Find the sword." I tell myself. I quietly walk away and look around every room. After about seventeen minutes, I find it. I am slightly afraid to touch it, now that I know what it is. I remember why I am doing this, and regain my resolve once more.
-
"You have to get your blood on Hellslicer somehow. But it has to be from a wound inflicted by yourself. We can't help you."
-
"..." I say nothing, close my eyes, and quickly cut myself in the arm. I bite my lip to keep from making any noise that could wake up Dark. I let my blood drip onto the sword, seeing the deep red infuse its self with the blade of the sword. I start to feel millions of years worth of negative energy from the sword. I force myself to keep thinking of why I'm doing this, as to not become overtaken by Hellslicer. I lose start to concentration and pass out.
*TIMESKIP*
I wake up with a jolt, not remembering what happened. I have a minor freak out, and then the memories come crashing down like a thousand bricks. I look around this pure white area I'm in. Its like a blank canvas. "What... The hell...?" I mutter to myself, unsure. "Where am I...?" I add, not expecting to see someone. They look like a crappy attempt at a speed art. "H- Hello?" I ask, hoping they're friendly. "My, my! Another first! How might I hur- er,- help you today?" "Uh... I think I got it, thanks." I respond and try to escape. "No, please, stay a while! Enjoy your time here! Come over, so I can tric- uuuh... treat you to some poiz- er, ahem, pizza." He says in response, his words laced with the intent to kill. I start walking -running- away, and have to eventually stop to breathe. When I look back behind me, he's there. Turning around to run again, I notice a wall that wasn't there before. Dead end... I think. Game over... I add, about to give up.
-
"They will want to hurt you. Don't lose hope. Fight them off. They talk big, but are mostly all bark and no bite. Trust me."
-
Ok, Hope... I am believing in you... I think. "Do it for D..." I say, praying to anyone there to listen that Hope was right about them being wimps here.

(#Unashamed #Sorrynotsorry)
Out of breath, I pant. Hope was wrong. Way wrong. I had to resort to mind games to escape. About to pass out. I find some familiar people. Wait... Those are some of the people from some of the stores and shops I visit on my travels! Oh, please please pleeeaaasse let them have potions! I think, and approach them. "Oh dear- HEY! I'VE GOT ANOTHER INJURED ONE!" One of them shouts, before I do indeed pass out.
*TIMESKIP*
I groan, my mind muddled. I then notice the missing pains and wounds. Then, realizing that for this to happen must have taken an insanely huge dose of potion, magic, or several months worth of down time, freak out and snap awake instantly. "Huh- Oh! HEY HE'S AWAKE!" The one who found me shouts. "Where am I and how long have I been here?" I demand, panicky. "Hey, hey, its alright! You're in a sort of "makeshift hospital" that I run. Really its the most high tech place in the entire "Creation space" but whatever. And as for time, only a few minutes or so. Why the rush? Time here is much faster than time outside. A week here is only seven minutes there!" He tells me. "Oooh... Ok... What's your name?" "Oh dear, sorry! I must have forgot my manners! My name is (Ok breaking the fourth wall a bit but I totally stole these names from Andrew Hussie's "Homestuck") Gamzee." "Ok then Gamzee, I'm Link. Hey, can you tell me about this place?" "Of course, but maybe Kankri should do it... He's always been the best at this kind of stuff!" Gamzee says, enthusiastically, and to be honest, his voice has a hidden tinge of regret. "Kankri! Can you come here a while please?" "Sure. Is something triggering you?" "Nah, Link wants to know about the lore of the land and how things work, I guess." "Alright then." Kankri says, calm and clear, without much emotion. "What would you like to know?" He asks, sitting down near me. "How about... Maybe... How things... Got here? Nice red sweater, by the way!" "Thanks. I don't hear that often. Most people are triggered, to see such colors in a hospital. Many think that it's blood... I swear it isn't, though!" He says, reassuringly. "Heh, I can see why."
*TIMESKIP*
"Anyway, would you like to meet everyone?" Kankri asks. "I would love to, thanks!" I respond, happy. "I will go get them." He says, and steps away for a bit. "Hahh..." I sigh, starting to like this place. "Ah! No, I'm here to help D, and thats that. I cannot stay after that." I remind myself. "Hi again." Gamzee says. "Hey." I respond.
*(very)SMALL TIMESKIP*
"Thanks, guys! I should go now, though. I have a goal to achieve." I say, waving goodbye and going to leave. "Wait, hold on, if you still have something you need to do, take this stuff. We have an over abundance of it!" Tavros says, handing me some potions, a bomb bag, some bombs to actually use, a hook shot, a bow, and a crap ton of arrows. "Woah! Thanks! You sure you wanna give this to me?" "Yep! Like I said, we have way to much stuff." Gamzee answers. "Thanks again. Bye!" I say, and head off.
*TIMESKIP* (Sorry for the abundance of timeskips... It'd be a reeeaaaaalllly long chapter otherwise. And I think its gonna be long anyway.)
"Ok... So... Now I have to find a personality mold for D, then..." I mutter, thinking out loud. "Wonder where I'd find that." I say, before I notice the big looming black building. "Oh. Probably there." I say, answering my own question. "..Than thats where I'm going." I say, steeling my resolve once more. ...For D! I think, and head on. A while later, I start to feel quite tired. "No... Keep going. Don't fall asleep. Don't do it, Link..." I say, reassuring myself. I keep going. I fall asleep a little more with each step, however. "Mhh... N- no... Must... Stay... Awake..." I mutter, nearly passed out.
*TIMESKIP*
I wake up, tired. "...Oh... I guess... I fell asleep, didn't I...?" I say, thinking out loud again. "But... I don't remember falling asleep..." I add, confused now. I start to notice the stinging pain in my arm. I look. "Ah! What the-?!?" I start, shocked at the sight. I... Its turning... Grey...? I think, a bit scared now. I look around, standing back up. "There's that building..." I say, and start going again.
*TIMESKIP*
"Hello...? Anyone here?" I say, looking around. "Oh... Hello. What is your business here?" "Uh... I- I'm trying to locate someone. He looks kinda like me." "Ah! You mean Daen? He should be somewhere on the 2nd floor. Perhaps the library?" "Thank you." I say, and start for the library.
*TIMESKIP*
"Daen"(Dark)'s P.O.V.
"Hey, Daen! That guy's here!" I hear from somewhere. "Huh?" I respond, looking around. "Ah. Thanks!" I say, getting up and looking at the so called hero. "You. You're here. Never thought I'd see the day." I smile. "This wil be fun...! Let's go outside." I tell the hero. We go outside. "So, hero, what are you here for?" I ask. He looks me dead in the eye. "For you." He says. "Really now?" I lean against a wall. "Yes, really." "How so?" "Things." "What sort of things?" "Oh just shut up and fight me, I can tell you want to." He remarks. I smirk. He's smart, I'll give him that.
*TIMESKIP*
Link's P.O.V.
After the fought, he's knocked out. "Um um um... Modify!" I call. It works. I go to a sort of character creator. I leave him the same, and go directly to the death date. I push it back far.
Are you sure? This will lower your lifespan by: 5 months.
Yes.
No.
I select yes. I go to accept and it let's me out of the screen space. I leave "Daen" there. I try to find my way out.
*TIMESKIP*
I almost die, but survived. A few wielder molds tried to push me off a cliff. I keep on my way. "How did Hope say I got out...?"
To leave, tell us why you are willing to lose your life span.
"I am willing to lose my life for someone I love. I want him alive. I don't care if I die, D needs to live longer than I do."
Very well. You may go.
A portal back opens. I go through.
*TIMESKIP*
I almost pass out when I get back. To tired. Cold. Probably almost dead. I get up despite that. "N- Navi... Get Hope and Dark..." I manage to choke out. She flies to them, and they get back. "LINK OH MY GOD-" D shouts. "Hey..." I choke out, smiling. "Here, l- let's get you fixed up, ok?" "Sure... Sure thing, D..." I say and cough.
*TIMESKIP*
I wake up in a hospital. "LINK! Oh god, your ok!" D says, worriedly. I smile weakly. "Hey... Hey D... How are... How are you...?" I ask. He starts crying. "What did you even do...?" D asks. "I-" I start to say, but cough harshly and wince. "I fixed it... You're gonna be ok now..." I smile weakly again. "What do you mean?" He asks, still worried. "I mean I changed it... The- The timer thing...! Farther back... You'll be ok for a while longer now..." I tell him. He slaps me, though not that hard. He kisses me, crying. "You idiot... I didn't want you to do anything, Link..." He laughs. I'm confused. He hugs me. "Its another reason why I didn't tell you... So you'd have longer than me. How far back?" He says. "A few months... Like... Uh... Eleven of them..." I smile again. He sighs.
"I love you, Link." "I love you to, Dark."

AUTHORS NOTE!!!
Hey... Sorry to say, this is the final chapter. I kind of lost interest in this fandom because it reminds me of someone I thought was my best friend, but was really a huge jerkwad in disguise. Most of the plot to this fanfic was either told to them or inspired by them. So, sadly... This is the the end. I may do a sequel, though. Expect that.
