Next Day

Karan woke up and looked towards the bed.. he got confused not finding Preeta there

Karan (confused): Yeh.. yeh Preeta.. Preeta kaha chali gayi subha subha (sat straight) neeche jaa kar dekhta hu

Saying this he stood up and was about to go from there but before he could Preeta came inside the room

He looked at her who was holding a cup of coffee

Preeta (smiled): Tum uth gaye?

Karan: Haa.. par tum kaha gayi thi subha subha.. mai darr gaya tha

Preeta: Mai bacchi thode hi hu.. jo tum mere liye darr gaye the

Karan (mummers): Bacchi se kam bhi nahi ho (to her) umm.. waise tum gayi kaha thi aur yeh (points towards the coffee mug)

Preeta: Ohh yeh.. yeh toh mai.. tumhare liye laayi thi.. maine tumhare liye coffee banayi hai

Karan (surprised): Tumne?

Preeta: Haa.. tum peoge naa

Karan smiled widely

Karan: Of course.. tumne banaya hai.. woh bhi mere liye.. toh mai jarur peeunga

Preeta smiled and handed over the coffee to him

Preeta (excitedly): Chalo peeo.. aur batao kaisa hai?

Karan chuckles slightly at her excitement and took a sip of coffee

As soon as he took a sip he widened his eyes

He was about to spit it but then looked at Preeta who was looking at him curiously

Preeta (curiously): Batao naa kaisa hai

Karan (in mind): I think Preeta ne cheeni k jagah namak mila diya hai coffee mai.. par mai isee yeh bata nahi sakta.. warna isee bura lage ga.. (to her) yeh.. yeh bohot accha bana hai.. maine aisi coffee aaj tak nahi pee

Preeta (happily): Sacchi (Karan nodes.. Preeta snatched the cup from him) mai bhi toh dekho

Before Karan could stop her she took a sip of the coffee.. she immediately spit it and coughs

She looked at Karan who smiled nervously

Preeta: Yeh.. yeh toh etni buri bani hai.. tumhe acchi kaisi lagi.. tumne mujhse jhooth ku bola

Karan (smiles): Tumne mere liye etne pyaar se banayi hai.. toh iski burai kar k mai tumhe hurt kaise kar sakta hu.. (took the coffee from her) aur yeh coffee toh mai hi peeunga.. aaj pehli baar meri wife ne mere liye kuch banaya hai

Before he could drink.. Preeta again snatched the coffee from him

Preeta: Bass karo.. yeh peene layak bhi nahi hai.. mai.. mai kuch kar hi nahi sakti (looks down)

Karan sighs and makes her look at him

Karan: Kisne kaha ki tum kuch kar nahi sakti.. khaana bana naa aana jaruri nahi hai.. tum toh ekk doctor ho.. logo ki jaan bachati ho.. toh jo tum kar sakti ho.. woh har koi nahi kar sakta

Preeta (smiles slightly): Tum.. tum etne acche ku ho? Kabhi mujhpe gussa ku nahi karte

Karan: Abb kya kare.. meri biwi hai hi aisi.. ki usko dekh kar koi gussa kar hi nahi sakta

Preeta: Tum meri kuch jyaada tareef nahi kar rahe?

Karan: Mai tumhari tareef nahi kar raha.. mai toh sacch bol raha hu.. abb chalo.. mai naha k aata hu.. phir hume nikalna bhi toh hai

Preeta nodes and left from there

After she left Karan jumps happily

Karan (happily): Aaj pehli baar babydoll ne mere liye kuch kiya.. usne mere.. mere liye coffee banayi..

'Tu etni si baat se khush ho raha hai gadha'

Karan looked at Shruti who was leaning to door and was looking at him with narrowed eyes

Karan rolled his eyes seeing her

Karan: Tu.. tu yaha apni manhush shakal lekar subha subha ku aa gayi mere kamre mai.. abhi mera mood bohot accha hai.. tu kharab matt kar

Shruti glared at him and stood straight

Shruti (angrily): Fine.. maine toh socha tha.. ki tujhe kuch tips dungi.. ki Preeta ko impress kaise karna hai.. mai ekk ladki hu....

Karan: Ohh.. mujhe laga tu ladka hai

Shruti: Shut up.. Mai keh rahi thi.. ki mai ladki hu.. aur mai jaanti hu.. ki ekk ladki k likes aur dislikes kya honge.. maine socha Preeta ko impress karne mai teri help karungi.. pad rehne de.. mai jaa rahi hu

Saying this she he was about to got but Karan stopped her

Karan: Aree yaar Shuruti.. tu toh bura maan gayi (Shruti looked at him) dekh.. tu meri best friend hai naa.. bata naa Preeta ko impress kaise karu

Shruti: Chal tu bhi kya yaad rakhega.. toh sunn.. tujhe naa usee koi gift dena chahiye.. shaadi k baad abhi tak kuch diya hai tune (Karan nodes in no) hey bhagwan.. kya hoga tera

Karan: Dekh yaar.. shaadi k baad Preeta mujhe apna husband maan ne se bhi mana kar rahi thi.. woh toh usne badi mushkil se iss rishte ko accept kiya.. maine socha toh tha.. par pata hi nahi.. ki usee pasand kya hai

Shruti: Toh usse puch le.. aur indirectly puchna.. jab tu usee hospital drop karne jayega naa.. toh baato baato mai usse puch lena.. aur shaam ko usee pick karne jaane se pehle gift le lena.. phir usee gift kar dena (shrugs)

Karan (smiled widely): Wow.. kya idea diya hai.. thank you so much (hugs her)

'Karan'

Karan broke the hug and looked at Preeta

Preeta was looking at both of them being jealous

Karan: Preeta.. tum yaha? Tum toh neeche gayi thi naa

Preeta glared at him

Shruti (in mind): Stupid ladka.. aise questions kaun puchta hai.. (looks at Karan unbelievably)

Preeta: Ku.. mai yaha nahi aa sakti.. tum bhul rahe ho.. yeh mera bhi room hai.. (Karan opened his mouth to say something) mai bass kehne aaye thi.. ki mujhe aaj jaldi nikalna hai.. surgery hai meri ekk

Karan: Tum.. tum chalo.. mai abhi aaya.. mai..

Before he could complete Preeta left from there

Preeta (in mind): Hadd hai.. yaha Shruti k gale par raha hai.. aur mujhse puch raha hai.. ki mai apne room mai hi kya kar rahi hu.. huhh.. baat hi nahi karungi mai usse

Karan's side

Karan (confused): Yeh Preeta ko phir se kya ho gaya

Shruti: Aree pagal she was jealous.. abb ekk ladki apne husband ko dusri ladki ko hug karte dekhegi.. toh jealous toh hogi naa

Karan: Ohh no.. woh toh gussa ho gayi.. mai kaise manaunga

Shruti: Idiot.. harr cheez mai hi batau kya? Khud hi socch

Saying this she left from there

Karan: God.. yeh babydoll etni jaldi gussa ku ho jaati hai.. jaldi se naha leta hu.. phir usee drop karne time usse baat kar lunga

In car

Karan was driving the car.. he looked at Preeta who was glancing at her phone

Karan stopped the car in front of her hospital.. both got down from the car

Preeta was about to go but Karan stopped her

Karan: Preeta (Preeta looked at him) tum upset ho kya mujhse

Preeta: Mai ku tumse upset houngi.. aur tumhe fark bhi kya padta hai.. mere upset hone se?

Karan: Bohot fark padta hai.. bohot jyaada fark padta hai.. dekho.. Preeta.. maine Shruti ko bass friendly hug kiya tha.. I swear

Preeta (shocked): Tumhe kaise pata chala mere upset hu

Karan (sighs): Tum woh sab matt socho.. tum bass yeh jaan lo.. ki meri life mai tumhari jo jagah hai naa.. woh koi aur nahi le sakta.. you are so special for me.. (he held her hand) please mujhse naraz matt raho

Preeta looked at him with moist eyes

Preeta: Tum aise ku ho Karan..? Galti meri thi.. overreact maine kiya.. galti meri thi.. phir bhi tum sorry bol rahe ho

Karan (chuckles): Woh kya hai naa.. dad kehte hai.. ki hum ladko ki bhalai isi mai hai.. ki galti humari ho yaa nahi.. hume biwi se maafi maang leni chahiye.. (Preeta chuckles slightly) tumhe pata hai.. tumari smile bohot pyaari hai.. toh keep smiling.. (wipes her tears) tears don't suit you

Preeta smiles and hugged him.. he was surprised at first but then hugged her back

Preeta: You know what? You are the best (breaks the hug) abb mai chalti hu.. mujhe de ho rahi hai

Karan nodes.. she left from there

Karan sat inside the car and smiled remembering the hug.. he bites his lips feeling shy

Karan: God.. Karan Luthra.. tu sharma ku raha hai.. she is your wife (remembers the moment she hugged him) I love you babydoll.. (leans to the car) I hope tumhe bhi mujhse jaldi pyaar ho jaaye

He sighs smiling and left from there

Hospital

Preeta's cabin

After the surgery Preeta was sitting in her cabin going through files of her patients

Suddenly the scene of her hugging Karan came in her mind and she smiled

tumari smile bohot pyaari hai.. toh keep smiling..tears don't suit you

She remembered when he praised her smile and her smiled widened remembering it

Preeta (smiling lostly): Karan ketna accha hai naa.. shaadi k baad se maine usse ketna pareshan kiya.. ketna hurt kiya.. par usne aaj tak mujhpe gussa nahi kiya.. aaj tak mujhse unchi awaz mai baat nahi ki.. aaj galti meri thi.. phir bhi usne saamne se mujhse sorry kaha.. I am really lucky.. ki mujhe Karan jaisa husband mila.. mujhe naa uske liye kuch karna chahiye

She looked at her phone

Preeta: Aaj toh bass ekk surgery thi.. koi appointment bhi nahi hai aaj.. ekk kaam karti hu.. ghar jaldi chali jaati hu.. aur uske liye kuch banati hu (remembers the morning incident) nahi nahi.. phir kuch garbar ho gayi toh.. haa ekk kaam karungi.. Rakhi maa ki help le lungi.. aur Karan ko ghar Jaa kar inform kar dungi.. ki mujhe lene naa aaye

Saying this she left from there

Karan was waiting for Preeta standing outside.. he looked at his watch

Karan: Yeh Preeta abb tak aayi ku nahi.. ekk kaam karta hu.. andar jaa kar puchta hu

He went inside the hospital and then went to the receptionist

Karan: Excuse me..

Receptionist: Ekk min.. aap toh Karan Luthra hai naa.. the famous cricketer.. omg mai aapki bohot badi fan hu.. mujhe aapka autograph milega kya?

Karan: Dekhiye please.. mai aapko autograph baad mai de dunga.. pehle aaap mujhe bata sakti hai.. ki doctor Preeta kaha hai? Mai unka husband hu

Receptionist: Dr. Preeta? Woh toh ekk ghante pehle hi nikal gayi

Karan (shocked): What? ekk.. ekk ghante pehle nikal gayi? Aise.. aise achanak ku chali gayi woh? Usee kuch hua toh nahi

He immediately went outside the hospital and called Preeta but it was switched off

Karan: Damn it.. iska phone bhi switch off raha hai.. (fearly) woh.. woh theek toh hogi naa.. kuch.. kuch hua toh nahi hoga naa (with tears) babydoll.. kaha.. kaha ho tum.. ekk.. ekk kaam karta hu.. mom.. mom ko call kar k puchta hu.. ki Preeta ghar par hai yaa nahi

Saying this he immediately called Rakhi

Karan: Hello mom.. Preeta ghar par hai kya?

Rakhi: Haa puttar.. woh toh ghar par hi hai.. kab ki aa gayi woh toh..

Karan sighs in relief and cuts the call.. he shook his head

Karan (disappointed): Preeta.. yeh sahi nahi kiya tumne.. you should have informed me

He sat in his car and then drove away

Karan entered inside the house calling Preeta's name

Karan: Preeta.. Preeta

All looked at him

Kritka: Kya hua bhai.. aate hi bhabhi ka naam ku chilla rahe ho (teasingly) etna miss kiya bhabhi ko

Karan: Kritika.. please not now.. Preeta kaha hai.. yeh bata

'Mai yaha hu Karan' Preeta said coming out of the kitchen

Karan looked at her and went towards her.. he held her hand and went to their room

Preeta's Room

Preeta: Karan kya hua? Tum mujhe aise upar ku le aaye

Karan held her through shoulders and pulled her closer.. Preeta looked at him being confused

Karan (sternly): Tum aaj jaldi ghar aa gayi.. toh mujhe inform ku nahi kiya?

Preeta got a bit scared listening to his stern voice for the first time

Preeta: Woh.. woh mai.. mai inform karna chahti thi.. par.. par mera phone switch off ho gaya tha.. aur.. aur phir mai ghar aa kar usee charge karna bhul gayi.. aur tumhe call karna bhi dimag se nikla gaya

Karan (angrily): Aise kaise dimag se nikal gaya.. do you know how scared I was.. ketna darr gaya tha mai.. ghar aa kar baakiyo se phone se bhi mujhe inform kar sakti thi naa (Preeta nodes slightly) (shouts) then why don't you informed me (Preeta flinched) tumhe pata bhi hai.. kya kya khayal aa rahe the mere dimag mai? Etni careless kaise ho sakti ho tum? (Jerked her away)

Preeta looked down with tears

Karan (shouts): Answer me Preeta.. why didn't you call me

Preeta flinched again.. she looked at him being afraid

Preeta (being scared): I.. I am sorry.. (tearfully) mai... Mai bhul gayi thi

Karan was about to shout at her again but stopped looking at her who was crying looking down

He shut his eyes mentally cursed himself for shouting at her.. he calmed himself and opened his eyes

Karan (softly): Babydoll..

He raised his hand to touch her but Preeta moved back

Karan: Preeta.. please meri baat suno... I.. I am sorry.. mai.. mai bohot darr gaya tha.. isliye tumpe chilla diya..

He moved towards her but she again moved back.. he felt a pinch in his heart seeing her tears

He felt so guilty for shouting at her.. he should have made her understand calmly but he made a mess by shouting at her
