Glitchy adopts a Fluffball
Reaper hummed as she floated through the air, playing with her phone. She had just finished reaping for the day, and she was on her way home.
Fire idly skipped into view, and she threw some chocolate at Reaper, before she skipped out of view again.
Reaper swooped down to grab the chocolate, and she giggled, before she started to eat it.
"How disgusting..."
She turned around to see Life.
"A Death God, acting like a child."
Fire gave Life the finger from a few feet away, and she tied her feet together, before she left again.
"Hey, what I do in my free time is none of your business Life." Reaper growled, she wanted to enjoy her chocolate in peace.
"You should be carrying yourself with grace and dignity!" Life yelled.
"I don't have time for those." Reaper grumbled. "And unlike you Life, I have work to do, and you should get out of your Garden and try it?!"
Reaper didn't know why she was so snappy recently, but it might had something to do with how her Magic had been a bit unresponsive recently.
The last time that her Magic had been this unresponsive was during a time where she had back to back shifts for a week.
She had no time for this.
Life was still ranting at her, and Reaper could definitely hear her talking about Coffee, male pronouns and relationships.
She turned around to float away.
She didn't even get a few feet away before something hit her in the back of her skull.
Reaper screamed, dropping her phone and the chocolate, before several more hits landed on her back, causing her to stop floating and fall.
She managed to stop herself before she hit the ground, but her head was killing her, and her vision was blurry.
She took a shortcut out of there, landing in water, which caused Reaper to wince, as the water seeped through her robe and into her wounds.
She just had to be reaping the Souls of those who lived in a Pirate based AU...
----
A portal opened up, and a Skeleton stepped through it. This Skeleton had black and red bones, with the tips of her fingers being yellow.
Her bones were smooth and unblemished, apart from a crack in her left arm, which had been bound together by blue strings.
She was wearing a red sweater with black shorts and slippers.
"Stupid Squid." She muttered. "Why doesn't he listen to his Damn Mother when she tries to tell him to stop? Having 50 copies of Underfell is a bit too much!"
The tall Skeleton used her hand to block out the sun and she smiled, enjoying the warmth on her bones, before she flopped on the sand. It was nice, to have five minutes to herself, without having to run around, and deal with the Squid.
She couldn't underestimate him, the Squid had Dusted her twice, and she had just come back from the second one. He was getting better, it was only a matter of time before he realised what she had realised a long time ago.
She was not looking forward to that, the Squid would be a lot more trouble in a fight if he had Cheerleaders, and she did not know how long it would take for the Squid to create them...
She looked at the sea and she frowned when she saw that something black was floating in the water.
She pulled out her glasses and she put them on, so that her blurry vision wouldn't hinder her when she went to find out who that was.
She grabbed a piece of driftboard, and she used it as a surfboard as she paddled towards the object, she hated that she couldn't swim like a human, or some of those other anomalies.
But the closer that she got to it, the more that she realised that it looked like a Skeleton....
"You better thank me for this anomaly." Error grumbled, before she pulled them out of the sea by their clothing.
It was a pretty small Skeleton, their clothing was bigger than they were, a child?
Error was about to dump them on the board when their hood slipped down, and Error could see the network of cracks in the back of the skull.
Someone had hit this one really hard.
Error decided to pull out their Soul to see if they could be saved, but when she tried to do that, she was stuck with a sudden feeling.
This child, was falling into a natural harmony with her Soul. Error could feel the link between them.
She gently placed them on the board, before she paddled back to the land. She didn't know what was going on, but she had to ditch this child somewhere safe.
The Squid would go after the child if he learned of the link between them, and Error felt that if the Squid killed this child, it would be a BAD thing, for everything and everyone.
Error picked the child off of the board once she had reached land, and she carried the child to a shady spot.
"I'm sorry about this Kid." Error muttered, before she started to take the child's clothing off, which turned out to be a robe, kept closed by two robe belts and a skull pin, and then, she saw the real damage...
Error was seeing red, because the skull wound wasn't the only wound that the Kid had, their spine and ribs had a few cracks in them, and judging from how one of the Kid's water soaked wings were hanging, that wing had been broken.
She growled, before she reset the broken bone in the wing, the Kid was lucky that they were out cold, because it meant that they wouldn't be screaming from the pain.
She couldn't do anything for the other wounds, apart from using clean water to wash them, before she wrapped the Kid up in their robe.
She paid close attention to the Magical Signature that was coming from the wounds, she was going to find the one who did this, and make them pay...
The Kid nuzzled a piece of their robe, which was close to their face, and Error just melted...
"Heh...." She summoned a thin, almost colourless string, and she wrapped it around the bones of the Kid's right wrist.
"I guess that this means that you're mine now Kid...." She didn't know why, but this Kid wasn't triggering her touch issues. "Like all of the Charas and the occasional Frisk..."
Error smiled, before she moved the Kid so that they were in her lap. "Alright Kid, let's get you home before the Squid finds you."
Error looked at the AU Code for the Kid, and she froze.
This was Death?! The Sans for Reapertale?!
Ink had been unable to get Reapertale to join the little group that he had been creating. Error still laughed when she remembered the moment that Asgore kicked him out of that AU.
And he had a right to do that, the other members of Ink's group didn't understand that Reapertale was an AU of Gods, they could grant favours and other requests, but they couldn't get involved in the actual fight, it was against one of their main laws, they couldn't break it for anyone, not even the Squid.
She hated the fact that the Squid was slowly getting everyone else to stop thinking for themselves, and to just go with the story, or let him do the thinking for them...
Just, how many of the Genocide timelines could be changed if a character broke the script?
Error sighed before she opened a new portal, heading into Reapertale.
She found a safe enough cave that she could leave the Kid in, and she put them down.
The Kid nuzzled their robe again, whimpering.
"I'm sorry Kid." Error whispered. "I have to go, but that string will let me know if you are in trouble again."
Error used a portal to get out of Reapertale, and she was just in time, because a few minutes later, a scream echoed throughout the cave.
"SANS!"
----
"SANS!" Papyrus yelled, once he saw the black bundle, and he quickly ran over to pick it up.
He had been worried when Sans hadn't returned from her shift and he went to look for her, only to find her phone, and some chocolate that Sans must have been nibbling on, but what worried him the most had been the absence of his sibling.
He had no idea how Sans had gotten back here, and who bandaged her wounds, but he was grateful that someone cared enough to bring her home.
The wounds had the same Magical Signature as the one who left the scar on Sans's arm, but the Magical Signature that he could sense on the bandages was different...
But whoever this was, they now owed them one, because they brought Sans home.
----
Reaper groaned as she woke up.
Her head hurt, a lot...
"Sans?"
"Papy?" She slowly opened her eyes to see the worried face of her brother. He looked exhausted, and he seemed to be in the middle of applying what felt like a wet towel to her forehead.
He smiled at her as he placed the wet towel on her forehead. "Do you remember what happened Sans?"
"No, not really." Sans said. "It's so blurry, the last thing that I really remember is eating chocolate."
Papyrus smiled. "Go back to sleep Sans."
"Okay Papy, love you." Sans muttered before she fell asleep again. She didn't notice the look of rage that Papyrus had on his face.
Papyrus was grinding his teeth together as he left Reaper's room. Asgore was waiting, outside of it, for him.
"Papyrus, how is Sans?" He asked.
"SHE WOKE UP, BUT SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER WHO ATTACKED HER, OR WHO BROUGHT HER BACK."
Asgore frowned. "So the only evidence that we have to go on is the Magical Signature, and my ex can explain it by trying to heal Sans."
Papyrus growled. Life had helped Asgore to write most of the laws, so she knew the little loopholes that she could use in court.
"Papyrus, in order to request an Absolution for the current Life, we need more evidence." Asgore said. "I can stop her from travelling to other AUs, but that is all that I can do."
"ISN'T THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ATTACK MAGIC AND HEALING MAGIC?" Papyrus asked.
"For the mortals, yes, but as Gods, we have more Magic than the most powerful Mage." Asgore said. "And while it is possible to tell the difference, Life is naturally a Healer, and she radiates Healing Magic naturally. She could argue that she was defending herself from something else, and Reaper was caught up in the crossfire. We know that Reapertale is not the only place with Gods Papyrus."
"I WOULDN'T CALL THAT CREATOR A GOD." Papyrus snarled.
Asgore sighed. Ink WAS making more work for the Death Gods, and he kept on visiting them, trying to talk with Sans. He wanted Death to join a group that he was making, to fight the Destroyer, who was destroying his creations.
But Gaster and Papyrus LIKED the Destroyer, mainly because the Destroyer was making their job a little bit easier.
They didn't have to release the Souls that they reaped, because of a Reset, if the Destroyer took the Fallen Child's Soul back to wherever they kept the Souls, because it stopped the Soul from Resetting, and no Resets meant less Paperwork for them, they only had to fill out a few forms for the destroyed AU, as well as the Paperwork for the Reaped Souls, and that was it.
Releasing the Reaped Souls, because of a Reset, gave them more Paperwork than filling out the forms for a Destroyed AU.
----
Reaper woke up again to see Life standing over her and she screamed, summoning a bone attack to knock her back, before she ran for it.
Her robe wrapped around her legs as she ran and she had to pick it up so that she could move quicker.
There was one advantage that she had that Life didn't, this was her home...
Her eyelight lit up as she passed a certain cupboard and Life screamed as an swarm of glitter bombs attacked her.
Reaper opened up a portal and she jumped through it.
----
She landed somewhere else, in the snow, in another AU.
She shook the snow off of her as she stood up, and she shivered. She was wearing a light sleep robe, it wouldn't be much help in the snow, she had to find somewhere warm...
She walked through the snow, watching as the snowflakes around her slowly fell to the ground. It was beautiful...
"Mehehehehehe!" She could hear someone laughing.
She frowned and she started to head towards where the noises where coming from, hoping that it would lead her somewhere warm.
The voice was drifting towards her as she got closer to it.
It was another Skeleton, dressed mostly in Blue, and as she watched, he seemed to be building something.
A puzzle?
Reaper couldn't understand why some Skeletons had a fondness for puzzles, but she chalked it up to an AU thing, and she moved on.
She was about to go and ask that Skeleton some questions when she heard something move behind her.
She turned around to see who it was.
-----
He was here to try and convince the original Swap!Sans to join his group again, mainly because the original Swap!Papyrus was more laid back and easy going than his copies, and some of those copies were disturbingly overprotective of their brothers.
He was on the way to see the Swap!Sans when he saw it, a tree that was slowly dying, and he wondered over there to see what was going on, and he found a small Skeleton in a sleep robe.
They seemed to be thinking about going to talk to the Swap!Sans, so he made sure that his next footstep caused something to move, getting their attention, and they turned around to look at him.
They were tiny, but Ink could see that the Skeleton had a pair of fluffy wings.
"What are you doing here?" He asked. "And how did you get here?"
Reaper looked at the other Skeleton, she had a bad feeling about them, something was not right here....
"Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm Ink!" The other Skeleton cheerily said. "Creator and Protector of all AUs!"
Something in her hissed when she heard his Titles... Creator? Wasn't that the Skeleton that Father and Papy were talking about? The one with powers similar to Life?
"And you are?" He asked, hoping to get an answer.
But she didn't answer him, mainly because she suddenly felt cold..
Her skull turned towards a certain direction...
---
Ink frowned when he didn't get an answer, only to hear the sound of crunching going from further down the path that was leading to the puzzle, he turned his head to see what was going on and he shrugged his shoulders.
"A Genocide." He said. "How boring, I'm out of here."
He drew a portal on the ground before he hopped through it.
-----
"Genocide?" Reaper asked, tilting her head to the side, didn't that mean....
No...
She looked back to where the blue Skeleton was, but he was gone. She quickly left the cover of the trees, heading for where he had been.
He was gone, but Reaper could feel the cold feeling coming from another direction now.
She turned around and she tried to figure out where to go, but she got lost, and she wandered around until she heard something.
"W-Well, that's not what I expected..."
She ran towards the voice.
She could see the blue Skeleton from earlier, he was bleeding from a slash across his chest.
"But... St...Still! I believe in you!" He said.
He was pleading to a Human that was wearing a green and yellow sweater. They were holding a knife.
"You can do a little better! Even if you don't think so! I... I promise..."
Reaper gasped as the Human hit the Skeleton again, and he crumbled into grey Dust and the Human laughed, while they kicked it all over the place, covering the blue Skeleton's scarf with it.
Reaper didn't know that her grasp had given her away, so when the Human suddenly ran towards her to attack her, she was so scared that she forgot why she avoided physical contract with mortals.
And so, when the Human swung the knife down, Reaper grabbed their unprotected wrist in an effort to stop the knife.
The human started to scream as their flesh started to rot away.
Reaper screamed, and she removed her hands from the Human's wrist, but the Human continued to decay, and Reaper was soon looking at a pile of bones and dust as the knife fell, landing in the snow besides her.
She choked on a sob before she ran away, but she didn't see the look on the face of an orange hoodie wearing Skeleton.
----
Reaper kept on running, running as fast as she could, she wanted to go home.....
She slowed down once she reached a field of blue flowers.
She slowly walked over to a bench, being careful not to touch anything living on the way, before she sat down on it, hugging her knees against her chest.
She sniffed, before she started to cry, she wanted to go home. "Papy..."
She heard a portal opening in front of her, before a pair of arms wrapped around her.
"SANS! I AM SO SORRY!" Papyrus yelled. "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MISS LIFE WOULD GO THAT FAR, AND THAT SHE WOULD BREAK INTO OUR HOME WHILE FATHER AND I WENT TO GET MEDICINE FOR YOU! FORGIVE ME!"
"PAPY!" Reaper wrapped her own arms around Papyrus, letting her brother wrap her up in his arms.
But what they didn't know what that they were being watched.
The toothpick fell from Stretch's mouth as he watched the other Papyrus cradle and soothe his crying sibling, before he wrapped her up in a blanket.
He had thought that he would have to deal with a Sans from a Genocidal timeline, but now, he might have to deal with a pair of siblings from a Genocidal timeline....
"Papy." The Sans said. "I wanna go home."
"OF COURSE DEAREST SISTER!" The Papyrus beamed at her. "AND YES, WE CAN PICK UP SOME CHOCOLATE ON THE WAY BACK HOME REAPER."
The Sans cheered, before the Papyrus carried her through the portal, but Stretch's jaw had dropped when the Papyrus called the Sans 'Reaper'. That was Death?!
That fucking, fluffy thing was Death?!
-----
It was at the next meeting, Ink held them once every week, or something like that, for everyone that he wanted to join his little group.
Stretch grinned as he rolled the toothpick in his mouth, as Ink asked if anyone had seen anything interesting.
Stretch put his hands. "I have." He said. "I have seen Death..." He paused for a dramatic effect.
"And Death is a fluffball. The end." He said, before he left the meeting as it exploded into chaos.
