Aftertale
Geno sat down, and Reaper sat down next to him. She looked at Geno and she tilted her head to the side.
"What is this place Gen?" She asked.
"It's the Save Screen." Geno said.
"As in the Save Screen from a video game?" Reaper asked, moving her legs so that she couldn't touch the small piece of grass.
"Yeah." Geno pointed up, and Reaper looked up, to see the giant yellow letters.
Reaper frowned. "So, why are you here Gen?" She asked, and Geno started to explain, including what Ink had gone to the code of his AU. "And because of him, I can't leave, my AU hasn't ever completed the Timeline with the best ending..."
Reaper frowned. "I might know someone who can deal with the code, and if they can't, I can look into getting you a place in my AU, or bringing things here to break up the Void here..."
"You can do that?" Geno asked.
"My AU really doesn't like Ink, he's actually forbidden from it." Reaper shrugged her shoulders. "I'm sure that they would be happy to help you get out, and if you can't, we can get you things like a bed! It must hurt to lie down on the ground here when you need to sleep!"
Geno couldn't help but to smile.
"And if that doesn't work, I know someone who would be more than happy to get rid of the code, if it means making Ink mad, and it screws up his plans!"
"Really?" Geno asked and Reaper just smiled.
"Yeah, I'm sure that she can help."
Reaper smiled, before she suddenly felt sick.
"Reaper?" Geno asked, right as Reaper started to sway. "Reaps?!"
He caught the tiny Death as she fell.
"Reaps... I like that." Reaper muttered, before everything went dark.
----
Reaper slowly woke up to find herself in a dark abyss.
"What's going on?" She whispered, hearing her voice echo.
"One more time, I'll be fine... Sometimes Kindness is enough."
She turned around to see what looked like a huge pillar of earth that stood out against the darkness.
She floated over to it, to see that several chains had been attached to the pillar, and all of the chains lead up the pillar.
She followed them, noticing that Gladiolus flowers had grown around the chains, forming flowery chains.
The flowery chains reached the top of the pillar and Reaper gasped at what she saw, for this pillar wasn't the only one with flowery chains. There was another one, on the opposite side, but Reaper couldn't see what flowers they had...
She followed the flowery chains to the middle of the clearing, where they met, and they seemed to be tightly wrapped around a ball of some kind...
She could see that the other flowers were Marigolds, an October birth flower, while the Gladiolus stood for integrity.
But why would those two flowers be here?
Reaper floated closer to what they were wrapped around, but before she could get close enough to see what it was....
"Reaps!"
She woke up.
-----
Geno watched as the small Death woke up and she looked at him. "Geno, what happened?"
"There was this really nasty stinger in your back. I had to pull it out."
"Oh... Thank you Gen!" Reaper smiled.
But why was she thinking of Marigolds and Gladiolus? It was like, she had seen them before, in a half remembered dream...
Reaper smiled at Geno, but the moment was suddenly broken by a noise.
"Gen?"
"It's Classic, hide behind me." Geno told the tiny Death, who nodded her head and she moved, so that she was behind Geno.
A skeleton that looked just like Geno, only with more colour, appeared.
"So, Genocide again?" Geno asked.
"Yeah..." Classic grumbled. "Look Geno, whatever you did to make that demon child work with you, it's starting to wear off."
"It's okay Classic." Geno could feel Reaper hanging onto his hoodie. "I got another plan."
"So, you're gonna try and destroy it all, again?" Classic growled.
"Not exactly." Geno smiled. "I made a new friend, who might know how to get me out of here, or they know someone who can fix Ink's work, but if they can't, they promised to get me things like a bed."
Classic frowned. "How can you be sure that they aren't a member of Ink's group?"
Geno grinned. "Well.... Do you know that one Asgore that roasts Ink?"
"No...." Classic whispered. "You have got to be kidding me? Your new friend's from Reapertale?!"
Geno smirked.
------
Reaper giggled as she entered the Anti-Void. "Error!" She called.
"Reaper Child?" Error asked, looking up from the puppet that she was making.
"Error!" Reaper floated over to hug the glitch, and she smiled, before she hugged Reaper back.
"Why are you here Reaper Child? Ink could turn up at any moment and find out about our connection."
"I may have found a way that you can get back at him." Reaper smiled. "Apparently, he changed the Code so that Gen can't have his happy ending."
"Gen?"
"Geno, he's the Sans of Aftertale!" Reaper cheerfully said, not seeing the dark look on Error's face.
She had heard the voices talking about Afterdeath, this was her chance to make sure that it never happened, Reaper was too young to have a boyfriend, but she couldn't pass up the chance to mess with the Squid's plans...
"Error?" Reaper asked, bringing Error out of her thoughts. "Are you going to help?"
"Of course I will Reaper Child." She patted Reaper on the head. "Just be careful, I have a feeling that this will get me into a lot of trouble, even if we are doing the right thing..."
Reaper nodded her head. She had a feeling that Error was right about that....
"Well..." Error got up. "Let's do this..."
-------
Geno and Error's first meeting could have been better....
Reaper didn't understand why Error was glaring at Geno.
The tiny Death was so confused.
"Error, why are you glaring at Gen?" She asked, tugging on Error's sleeve. "He's done nothing wrong..."
Error scowled.
Geno frowned, he had heard of Error, but he never expected to see this kind of behaviour from the Destroyer. It was kinda cute and it did remind him of a parent...
Geno nearly choked on the blood that he was trying his hardest not to throw up....
The Destroyer had Maternal Instincts!
Error had practically adopted Death as her kid!
Geno couldn't understand why, but he had a theory...
Error destroyed AUs, she caused their deaths, did this mean that Error acted as Death when it came to AUs? And if that was true, why was everyone harassing her and trying to hurt her when she was just doing her job? They didn't harass or hurt Reaper when she did her job, why wasn't that courtesy being extended to Error?
And since both of them were Death, it was easier for them to connect on a level that could not be understood by science or Magic.
Geno didn't like the fact that everyone was starting to let Ink think for them, or they didn't do anything to end the cycles that they were trapped in....
Reaper looked between them, before she tugged on Error's sleeve again, yawning. "Mama?"
Error froze at the term that the.... Oh, who was she trying to fool? The Reaper Child was her baby...
"Yes Reaper Child?"
"Help Gen, please." Reaper yawned again, before Error picked her up and she handed her over to Geno.
"Congratulations, you're hired."
"What?!" Geno almost yelled, as Reaper curled up in his arms.
Error grinned. "As Reaper Child's bodyguard, now, we have to go over a few simple rules... "
--------
Split growled when she saw that her Toy was messing with her baby's work.
One side of her agreed with Ink's decision, but the other side of her was suggesting that they let this happen, to build up tension, and they could watch everyone's faces as they watched for the other shoe to drop, as they waited for the fallout....
-----
Reaper shivered. She was having another one of those Dreams...
She had been created by the God of Magic, she and Papyrus had to inherit something from him...
For her brother, it was his Sensitivity to Magic, he could find a Soul, any Soul, by it's Magical Signature....
And Reaper?
She would be tormented by horrible nightmares and dreams, and she could see...
She never remembered what she would see, but they never left her mind, it was an endless movie, stuck inside her head, and she couldn't stop seeing it...
But the one thing that she never forgot, was the one holding her hand through them.
She could only see half of them, it was like the other half of this being had been ripped away from them, but she was always there, to hold Reaper's hand when she saw...
-------
Reaper was excited, she was floating in the air, above the exit to the Underground.
She couldn't wait to see Gen's face, when he realised that he was free from the Save Screen.
It was going to be a very happy moment...
So why... Was her Soul screaming, in pain?
Reaper gasped, and she fell out of the skies, into the forest, and she curled up, in a ball. She didn't understand why, but all that she knew was that her Soul was screaming, in pain...
She heard someone laughing, and she looked up, to see Life.
She screamed, when the Goat stomped on her legs, breaking them, and she bent down to look at the damage.
"Oh Dearest Reaper, let me help you." Life cooed, and she grabbed the broken bones, in a tight grip, and she painfully healed them.
Reaper looked at her legs, and she whimpered, when she saw the damage.. The breaks looked rotten, and she could feel a burning pain, from her bones...
"Oh... It looks like I made a mistake... I'll have to take you back to my garden, to rebreak them, and heal them..."
She was about to pick Reaper up, when a bone impaled itself, through her left hand.
"Leave her alone!"
"Gen!"
------
Geno wasn't happy... Reaper wasn't there, when he left the Save Screen... She should have been here....
He was knocked out of his thoughts when he heard someone screaming.
"Reaps?" He teleported away from the group, into the forest, and he saw someone that looked like a Toriel, and they were about to pick Reaper up, from the ground....
Something wasn't right... Reaper had a look of fear, and pain, on her face, and that was the moment, that he saw the poorly healed, rotten breaks, in Reaper's legs...
He was angry...
His eyelight became that red-blue mix, and he impaled one of the Toriel's hands, with a bone.
"Leave her alone!" He snarled. This had to be Life, and something in Geno screamed when he saw her.
She shouldn't be using her powers, like this... It was wrong...
"Gen!" Reaper yelled.
--------
Life growled, at Geno, who had teleported himself in front of Reaper, to protect her from Life.
Geno snarled, and his red-blue eyelight was glowing....
Life disappeared... She knew that she could possibly defeat this Skeleton. The melted eyesocket told her that it would be an easy fight... But she couldn't... She couldn't kill anyone... And that meant that this Skeleton could tell the other Deaths that she had Reaper...
"You must hurry." A voice whispered.
Somthing that only seemed to barely phase into reality, for a few seconds.
A portal appeared, and for a second the figure appeared, and it looked like a hedgehog, made from fire, with glitches.. and then, they vanished, but the portal remained.
Geno was confused, but he realised why that portal was there, when he turned around to check on Reaper, and he saw that she was gone...
He ran through the portal.
------
Reaper punched, and she screamed, as she tried to make Life let her go. She couldn't move her legs...
Life smiled, as she carried Reaper into a small hut, it was tiny, and she dumped Reaper, on the straw bed.
Reaper cried, when the fall partially broke the rotten part, of her left leg, and Life hummed, as she left the tiny hut, locking the door behind her.
Silent tears started to fall, down Reaper's face. She wanted her Dad, she wanted her Papy, she wanted her Mama, she wanted her Gen.... She wanted someone to come and save her....
She went to sleep, on that scratchy straw bed....
'Daddy, Papy, Mama, Gen... Help me!'
--------
Misty frowned, feeling a little twitchy. Her Soul was twinging, one of hers was in trouble... but who?
It was taking a very long time for the group to follow the trail of energy... Something wasn't right...
She twitched again, looking around. She growled faintly, her tail puffed up and her ears straight ahead, twitching and swiveling around.
But this was the only clue that they had, to find their missing friend...
And so, the Admins continued to travel that long road, together...
