This is a transcript of the first letter I recieved -- much of it was pretty badly smudged. I'll do my best to get it accurately posted.

Dear Mr. Blathe:

I am happy to see that you have been receiving my letters. It is a great effort for me to write them as I have a severe case of disgraphia (sic) brought on *1                   . My attempts to compile a complete list of victims has been fruitfall (sic) but incomplete. Most of what I have found corresponds to public records of the investigations. Indeed, the majority -- if not all -- of the murders occurred within hours of a full moon.

*1 this is hopelessly smudged. I think it looks like "by inlinsc sligel." But, that doesn't make much sense to me.
