Future Ruddiger here! By the way this is a kinda like a Dark Kingdom AU, but its a little different then a Dark Kingdom AU that you would usually expect.

Varian was the son of the top guard in the Dark Kingdom. He always wanted to make his dad proud, so he went out on a hunt to find the most wanted criminal, Y/n Rider.

Little did he know, the day he went out in search for her, his life completely changed forever.

You rushed through the woods. Someone finally found you. It was a boy your age. You knew he would never get you so when you found a clearing, you looked behind you to see no one. You were relieved that you were safe. You turned back to continue on your way, but to your surprise, the boy was standing right in front of you.

"Ahh!" You screamed and fell backwards. "Haha!" The boy laughed, "Gotcha." He smirked, putting handcuffs around your wrists. "Yeah, yeah, you did." You mock.

He helped you up, "So, Y/n Rider. You are under arrest." "Nooo!" You stomp your feet like a 4 year old who was just told no ice cream, "Are you kidding me?! 8 years on my own and I can't even avoid the stupid guards! Even a scrawny 14 year old!" "The names Varian. Get it right." He glared, before his face became soft, "B-But what do you mean 8 years on your own?" "That's none of your business." You say with attitude.

"Now can you please let me go?" You beg. "No, but *sigh* I won't turn you in. You must come with me, I won't turn you in. Although if you do slip up, you're heading to jail." Varian gives in, feeling a little sorry that you've been on your own for 8 years.

"Okay, where will I stay?" You ask. "I-I guess, I can hide you in my room." Varian thinks.
"I doubt that you'll let me go back to my hideout, so I'll need a few other things." You explain. "Like what?" Varian asks. "Well, I need a bed, hygiene products, clothes, ect." You list. "Uh, well, that will all be hard since no one can know about you." Varian thinks as the two of you walk to the castle.

Time Skip To The Castle

You were now in Varian's room after sneaking through his bedroom window. "Wow. Nice room." You say as Varian took off your handcuffs. "Yeah, I-I guess so." Varian rubs the back of his neck, "Now I got to take my armor of for bed since its so late." Varian turns towards his bedroom's bathroom.

"Oh, okay." You smile as he leaves. His head pops back in, "I trust you not to leave." Then he pops back into the bathroom.

After a while he comes out, he's dressed in normal clothes. In your eyes, he looks really, extremely cute!

He went over to his closet and pulled out a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts. "Put this on. My bed is big enough for the two of us." He tossed you the clothes. "Oh, okay then, but I, uh, I might be a while." You say as you walk into the bathroom.

It was taking a long time while you were in the bathroom. Even though he felt a little embarrassed for doing what he was about to do, he still needed to make sure you were okay.
He slowly peeks into the bathroom to see you with a phone. It seems like you were recording yourself. In Varian's clothes on... Varian thought you look cute and kinda hot in his clothes. He blushed a lot.

You were still talking to the phone. Even though Varian knew it was wrong, he eased dropped.
"Mom and Dad! Hi! I just wanna know how you're doing. I know you never gotten these or maybe you do but ignore them. But I'm just gonna forget about that and tell you about my day. Yes its true, I'm still stealing, but today I was caught! I was actually caught by a boy my age. I know if you were still here dad, and you still loved me, you wouldn't approve of me calling him kinda cute. Sure, he might be kinda cute, but I don't have a crush on him. Well, maybe. Okay fine a small crush. But if you met him Mom, I know you would find him cute and you'd be all for it. Although neither of you care so I don't know why I'm making these dumb assumptions. Now, uh, I gotta go. I love you guys. Please get back to me. Bye!"
You finish and send the video.

Varian quickly rushes back over to his bed to pretend that he didn't ease drop.

You come out of the bathroom to see Varian chilling on his bed in a very weird position. You raise a brow. Varian realizes how he's laying and quickly sits up. "Well, I didn't think it would be that type of night!" You smirk joking. "I-Its not!" Varian flushes. "I know! I'm just joking!" You laugh and punch his shoulder softly.

You crawl onto your side of the bed and get under the covers. Varian slides in on his side, right next to you. "Uh, g-good night." Varian whispers as he blows out the candle that lit up the room. You smile and roll over so your back was facing Varian.

You thought for a moment and decide to go for it. You roll back over and peck Varian's cheek. "Good night." You whisper and roll back over. You suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist and a face nuzzle into your hair. "Gud nite." You hear Varian repeat but since his face was in your hair, it didn't really sound like words.

The two of you fell asleep like that.

The Next Morning

You wake up to soft snoring. You realize that you're not in your usual cave that you call home. You try to remember.

Got caught
Met a cute boy
Boy decided to not turn me in
Went to the castle
Dressed in boy's clothes
Made video for Mom and Dad
Sent video to Mom and Dad
Kissed Cute Boy?!
SLEPT WITH CUTE BOY?!?!

You roll over to see the cute boy snoring softly, still holding onto you. You roll your eyes and decide to wake home. "Vaaarrry." You say calmly, he didn't wake up, "Ohhhh Vaaarrry." You say a little louder. Still nothing. You lean towards his face and place a soft kiss on his nose. As you have your lips to his nose, Varian wakes up. He realizes your really close and then realizes your lips on his nose.

Out of instinct, he pushes you away. You end up flying off the bed. You pop back up. "Ow!" You glare. "Sorry." Varian winces at your pain. You get back onto the bed and start to explain, "How else do you want me to wake you up? You wouldn't wake up so I kissed you nose!" Varian rolls his eyes, "You could have not woken me up." "No! I wake you up when I'm up. That's how living with me works." You glare.

"And to think, I actually thought you were cute and sweet." You mumble, hoping Varian didn't hear it. Although Varian did in fact hear what you had said. It actually broke part of his heart. You thought he was cute and sweet, and now you're regretting it. "Uh, well, n-now that were up, we-we might as well get ready." Varian climbs out of the now shared bed.

You got out too and went to the bathroom to change out of Varian's clothes he had given you.

After you quickly changed, you stayed in the bathroom and checked your phone. There was a message:

VIDEO MESSAGE FROM:
Mom & Dad

You jumped up and down in excitement. They actually messaged you back!!!

You ran out of the bathroom and ran to Varian and jumped on him. He wrapped his arms around you, not 100% sure on what's happening, but what came next was the surprising part.

You were so excited that you aggressively pressed your lips to his.

He hesitates, but he ends up kissing back. You realize what you had just done so you soften the kiss, not wanting to pull away. Your lips move in sinc. The kiss slowly turns into making out.

Varian goes over to his bed and lays you, back down, onto it. He crawls on top of you, not breaking the kiss.

You run your hands through his hair, tugging a little, making him softly moan onto your lips. With his mouth slightly open from moaning, you slip your tongue into his mouth.

After a while of this, you both pull away. "Wow. That was... Wow." Varian says out of breath, still on top of you. You giggle a little and run your hands through his hair a little bit more, "That was amazing. You're a really good kisser... for a son of the royal guard." "Question, how many sons of a royal guard have you kissed?" Varian smirks. "Only you. And you realize you just had your first kiss with the most wanted criminal, right?" You raise a brow. "I've kissed others before." Varian lies. "Really? Name one." You ask. "Fine, you win, you were my first kiss. And its a kiss I'll never forget." Varian leans down and rubs his nose on yours, making you giggle.

As Varian got off of you, he asks, "So... You seemed excited when you ran out of the bathroom. Why?" You sat up in front of him, kinda embarrassed of what you just did, the part where you jumped on him, the kiss wasn't even close to embarrassing.

"W-Well, you know how I don't have a-" You got cut off by Varian. "'Have a life'? Yeah, I know." Varian says, trying to finish your sentence.
"That-That's not what I was g-gonna say, b-but... I guess your right," You say, realizing how terrible your life is, "I was gonna say. 'You know how I don't have a family, well, I send messages to my parents, hoping one day they will message me back. And after years of asking them to get back to me, I finally got a message from them!'" You grin with joy.
"I'm so happy for you." Varian brushes a piece of hair out of your face, before realizing what he was just doing. "Uh, s-sorry... I'll leave you to the message?" Varian backs away. "No please stay!" You call out, but you didn't want to say it that loud, "I want you to listen to it with me. Its a video message, so I have no idea what it'll be like." Varian walks back over to you, "Alright." He smiles softly, sitting down next to you on the bed, holding onto your hand.
You let out a breath before hitting play.

"Hey Sweetheart!"
You haven't heard your dad's voice in forever.
"We love your messages. We do regret leaving you, we just couldn't afford to take care of a child."
Wow, you missed your mom's voice too.
"And you're right. I would most likely be over protective of you when you called that boy cute. And you're mother would love to get to know him."
Varian looks over to you. You smile sheepishly before returning back to the video.
'We hope you're doing okay without us. Although yet we don't, we want to be there but we can't.' Your mom says.
'We're so sorry.' Your dad adds.
'We love you, Honey.' Your mom smiles.
'We'll make more of these for you.' Your dad kisses your mom's head. Varian kisses you head, making you giggle.
'We want to meet that boy too!' Your mom smiles even wider.
'Yeah. I need to make sure he's good enough for you.' You dad says, with a small glare. You chuckle.
They blow you a kiss then the video ends.

"So... I'm cute?" Varian raises a brow with a smirk. "I, uh... Shut up!" You blush.
