"What if I don't want a baby?" ~Varian

WARNING:
You and Varian have, uh... sex... But to keep this one shot innocent, I'll try my best to cut that part out.

Future Ruddiger here! Its not actually as bad as I made it sound here.

By the way, you're 16 and Varian's 17.
-------------

"Have fun you two." Jake laughed.

My friend, Jake, has trapped me and my best friend, Varian, in a room with only a bed.
It was a prank though.

Me and Varian are such close friends, we act like we're dating.
We do so much together, people assume we're dating.

Jake thought it would be funny to trap us in a room and tell us to have sex.

Of course me and Varian wouldn't do it.

Me and Varian were standing awkwardly in the room, then I was struck with an idea.

"Varian, I know what I'm about to say is gonna sound stupid, but hear me out. Jake wants us to, uh, you know, have sex. But if he doesn't hear anything, like moans, he'll look in. What if we freak him out by getting into a position that makes him think we were about to do it. He'd be so freaked." I say.

"Y-Y/n. I-I don't think th-that would be the best idea." Varian studders.

"Dude. It'll be fine. We aren't actually gonna do it." I start stripping myself.
Okay, so I might want him in me because I'm basically in love with him, and making love doesn't sound too bad to me.
But if it makes him that uncomfortable, then I won't force him.

Once I was naked, I started stripping Varian as he stood there uderly confused.

After I stripped him I crawled onto the bed. I laid down on the bed and spread my legs. Varian just stood there.

"Varian. We're best friends. Come on. It'll be fine!" I try to encourage.
Varian sighed and sat between my legs. "Really, Y/n? Do we have to do this?" Varian asks.

"Don't you wanna double prank him?" I ask, holding his hands.

"Fine." Varian looks away from me.

He lined himself up with me.

I could tell Varian didn't want to do this. He was slightly shaking.

"Dude. Chill." I laugh slightly and touch his arm.

From the touch, he slightly jumped and accidentally pushed in.

He froze and so did I.

He pulled out and started apologizing, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to! I'm a terrible friend! Please forgive me! I'm so sor-"

I cut him off by whispering, "I liked it."

He stopped rambling, "Huh?"

"I liked it. I liked when you were in me." I said a little more loud, but still quiet.

~And from there, it went on.~

TIME SKIP - ONE WEEK LATER...

I walked out of the bathroom in shock.

Th-This is like one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
I'm so happy!

I quickly ran to my best friend, who was in his lab.

"Varian!" I yelled as I jumped on top of him, knocking him to the floor.

"Woah! Y/n! You good?" He laughs, pushing me off of him.

"Yes!" I yell smashing my lips to his.

He pushes me away, "Dude. What the hec-"

"Varian! I'm pregnant!" I exclaim, pulling out the pregnancy test.

"Oh! Wow. Good for you." Varian says, not sure how to respond.

"Good for us." I correct, "Its your baby too! Remember last week?"

"I- wow. Just... wow." Varian was speechless.

"Babe! We're gonna be parents together!" I hug him tight.

"'Babe'?" Varian repeats.

"Yeah. I-Is there something wrong with me calling you that? I-I mean, we should start dating. For the baby." I pull out of the hug.

"I- uh- What if I don't want a baby?" Varian asks.

"That's cu-" I see the expression on his face, "Oh. You don't want to have a baby?" I freeze. Varian slowly shakes his head no.
"Oh." I look away.

I got up and headed towards the door. I turn back to face Varian, "I'll just leave, i-if you don't want a baby. I'll raise it on my own. Bye, Varian."
And with that I leave.

~9 Years Later~

I was cooking lunch in my new house, when my 8 year old daughter, Sophie, ran up to me.

"Hey, Mommy?" She asks.

"Yes, Sweetheart?" I ask back with a smile.

"I-I was wondering about something for a while." Sophie looks away from me.

"Oh really? What is it? You can always talk to me." I say as I take our lunch, ham sandwiches (which Sophie prefers to be cooked on the stove), over to the table. I set the sandwiches on 2 plates. One for me and one for Sophie.

She climbed up onto the chair and asked a question I was hoping she'd never ask.
"Where's dad? I mean, almost every kid in my class has one. Then I don't. Why? Some kids even make fun of me for it because I don't have anyone to make Father's Day gifts for when we do projects like that. I was wondering, what happened to him? Where is he?"

I froze. "Uh, Sweetheart. That-That isn't important." I try to get it out of her mind.

"Well, it is to me! I wanna know what happened to him!" She exclaims.

I sigh. Should I tell her that I left because he didn't want a child? She'd blame herself for the reason why he's not here.
"Sophie, Sweetheart, I just want you to know its not your fault. Okay?" She nods yes before I continue, "When we found out we were having a baby. Which just so happens to be the best daughter ever! Well, when we found out, he told me that he didn't want a baby. I loved him so much, but I didn't want him to deal with me if I was pregnant." I explain.

"So you left Daddy?" Sophie asks.

"Well, I mean, I wanted a baby. I wanted you! But I know that if I stayed with your father, he would make me give you away or find a way to, uh- kill... you off." I slowly say the last part.

Sophie gasped, "Daddy was a murderer?!"

"What? No! Sweetheart, he wasn't a murderer. Some people don't like the idea of having a baby, so they kill it either before its born or after." I explain, "I wouldn't even let him come close to touching you if that's what he really wanted to do."

"Oh. Okay..." Sophie seemed like she had more to say but she didn't. She went back to eating her grilled ham sandwich.

"Sophie, honey? Is everything alright?" I touch her hand.

She put the sandwich down and swallowed what she had in her mouth. "W-Well, I was thinking, well, umm, could we possibly go visit him?" She whispers the last part, but I could still hear it.

I think for a minute.
I mean I was planning on keeping him out of her life for as long as she lived. Although that would just be cruel.

"Yeah, sure. Finish your food then start packing. We'll leave tomorrow morning so we hopefully get there by dinner time." I sigh.

"Yay!" And with that she quickly eats her sandwich and runs off to her room.

~The Next Day- But Late At Night When You Finally Arrive In Old Corona~

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there y-" Sophie repeats but we finally are so I cut her off.

"We are!" I smile... Well, for Sophie's sake. I'm not to happy about visiting him. Although, I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him.

I sighed as I got out of the cart we used to travel and walked up to the door that I thought I'd never go back to.
Sophie was running behind me, carrying her stuffed teddy bear, who she named Mr. Fluff and who goes EVERYWHERE with her.

I hesitate on knocking on the door.

"Knock. Why isn't she knocking on the door?" I hear Sophie ask Mr. Fluff.

My fist hits the door a few times before my arm drops back to my side.
As Sophie and I wait to be let into the house, I hear tons on glass shattering and a huge explosion.
I quietly laugh. Gosh, I really missed that dork.

Suddenly the door flies open.

"Dad! I thought you said you home till Thur-" he stops once he sees who's actually standing there, "Hey."

"Hi." I stare at me ex-best friend.

"Y/n." He breaths out.

"Varian." I grin.

"Mr. Fluff!" Sophie holds up Mr. Fluff between me and Varian.

I pick Sophie up, "Yes, Mr. Fluff is here too." I giggle at Sophie squeezing the bear really tight.

I turn back to Varian, "Y-You've missed a lot."

"My biggest regret is letting you step out of that door." Varian says.

"Well, I'm here now." I quietly say, making him smile.

"For a whole week!" Sophie exclaims.

"Oh, yeah. That's right. Do you mind if we stay here? We don't have anywhere else to stay." I add.

"Oh, of course! I don't think my dad will mind. He loves you like his own daughter. That's why, before you left, my dad told me to marry you so it'd be like you would be his actual daughter. Since you know, daughter-in-law and all." Varian lets up into his house.

"Smells like cinnamon and chemicals. It always has." I smile as I set Sophie down in the house.

"You hungry? Looks like you've been traveling for a while. You should eat something." Varian grabs and apple.

"No, I'm good." I shake my head no.

"I would like one!" Sophie exclaims.

"Here." Varian tosses the apple to Sophie but suddenly a younger looking Ruddiger jumped up and snatched the apple.

"Ruddiger?" I ask looking at the raccoon who stole Sophie's apple.

"Looks like you've missed a lot too." Varian says as he turned away to cut another apple into apple slices for Sophie. "Here. Just try to avoid the raccoons." Varian puts the plate of apple slices on the table as Sophie climbs onto the chair, still holding Mr. Fluff.

I lean against the wall, smiling at my daughter.

"Hey. I think we need some catching up to do." Varian says as he leads me over to the couch.

He sits down on he couch before I sit next to him and snuggle into his arm. He wraps an arm over my shoulder.

"You know, she's been asking a lot about you." I start.

"Who?" Varian asks.

I point over to my daughter, who is sharing her apple slices with her teddy bear, "The teddy bear."

"Really?" Varian asks.

I slap his chest, "No, you silly. Sophie's been asking. The bear can't talk. I mean, to Sophie he does, but I can't understand him one bit."

Varian chuckles, "Why would she ask about..." He fades off, realizing why she would ask, "Is that my-" He cuts himself off.

"Varian. You missed a lot. You missed her first steps, you missed her first word, you missed her first birthday." I say.

"So she is?" Varian asks.

"Yeah. She's your daughter." I smile as I watch her walk over to us.

"Hey, Sweetheart." I smile.

"Hey Mommy." Sophie smiles.
I pat my lap, which she gladly takes a seat on.

"Mommy." Sophie loudly whispers, "Is this Daddy?"

I giggle at her terrible attempt to whisper, "He is."

Sophie looks up at Varian as he smiles down at her.

Varian reaches his hand out to her as Sophie stares wide eyed at him.

"He won't bite." I try not to laugh.

"But you said he was a murderer." Sophie says.

"You said I was a what?!" Varian turns to me.

That's it.
I break out laughing, not being able to contain my laughter anymore.
"No. No. He's not, Sweetheart." I assure Sophie as I laugh before turning to Varian, still laughing, "I was talking to her about you and she asked if you're a murderer. I said no, but from what I said about you, she must've thought a yes."

"Really?! What did you say about me?" Varian asks.

"She was talking about how you didn't want me. So then I asked why did she leave you. Then she explained that when people don't want their baby, they do really stupid things, sometimes even kill the baby." Sophie explains.

"I never said he wanted you dead. Plus, that's not like your father. To kill someone." I finally calm down.

"Even if I wanted to, which I don't, your mom would never even let me get close to you." Varian explains.

"That's what I said!" I exclaim.

"Oh. Okay. That makes everything better." Sophie verifies.

"Good. Now I think its someone's bedtime." I say.

"You can have the spare bedroom." Varian says.

"Ugh! You guys are no fun!" Sophie whines.

I grab her bags and I take her upstairs.

~15 Minutes Later~

I came back downstairs to see Varian laying on the floor with a cat toy with 5 baby raccoons jumping at it.

"Either you adopted more raccoons or Ruddiger was secretly a female pregnant raccoon." I smile.

"Actually both of them are actually almost accurate." Varian turns to me, "After you left, I was miserable. So I took Ruddiger and we went exploring the woods. We ended up finding a female raccoon. I brought her home with us and gave her a bath and cleaned her up. Next thing I know, a week later, she's pregnant! Then long story short, I live with 2 raccoons and 5 baby raccoons. Now, every night, I have to take a break from what I'm doing to hang out with these guys as Ruddiger and Cassie disappear to who knows where!"

"'Cassie'?" I repeat.

"I named the female raccoon, okay?" Varian says.

"Of course you did." I laugh and roll my eyes.

I get down on the floor next to Varian, then I spot one of the raccoons, "Hey, you're the one who stold my daughter's apple." I pick him up. He nods yes. "Well, you're definitely Ruddiger's kiddo." I laugh.

"So, how's life been?" I ask Varian as I lean against the back of the couch.

"Well, I mean. I missed you WAY more than a normal person should have." Varian sits next to me, against the couch, "How about you? Did you miss me?" He nudges his shoulder into mind.

"When you said you didn't want a baby, it broke my heart. I tried forgetting about you because I had bigger things ahead of me. I couldn't get sidetracked with thinking about the boy I fell in love with-" Varian cut me off.

"You were in love with me?"

"Shush it, Blue Eyes. I'm not done talking." I shush Varian.

"'Blue Eyes'. How I've missed that name." Varian happily sighs in a teasing way.

I roll my eyes before continuing, "I couldn't get sidetracked by thinking about you. I was gonna have a baby. I would have to find some place to live. I would need to find some way to keep me and my baby alive. I would need to get a job so I can have money! That's what I had to think about. I couldn't be thinking about you. That would make me get off track. Although, trying to forget..." I started crying, "I just couldn't. Varian. I- I love you. You were my best friend. You were always in my head! It didn't help that I would never take off that locket you made for me.-" Varian cut me off again.

"You still have it?!" He asks, really excited.

I pull it out from underneath my shirt. I open it to show a picture of Varian and I from when I was 13 and he was 14. I was kissing Varian's cheek in the photo.

"Y-You added another picture." Varian pointed to the second picture that was in there.

"Of course. The guy who I so happened to fall in love with and my daughter who means the world to me." I smile at the picture of her squeezing Mr. Fluff.

"You said you love me?" Varian says, drawing my attention away from the locket.

I freeze. I look down at the locket and close it before hiding it back in my shirt.

"I... I, uh, I don't w-what your talking about. Maybe one to many explosions messed with your h-" Varian cut me off.

"I love you too."

"W-What?" I whisper.

"I love you too." Varian repeats.

The whole room went quiet.

Varian was the first to talk, "I know you love me! You even said it multiple times. But when I say it, you don't say anything back. Are you playing with my feelings or do you generally hate m-" I cut him off by grabbing his face and slamming his lips to mine.
He takes my back and the back of my head and pushes me closer to him, making the kiss deeper.

"God damn it." I hear Varian mumble into the kiss.

"I'm so freaking in love with you." I mumble back.

Varian grabs my thigh and pulls me closer.
The kiss goes deeper and becomes even more rough.

"Son! I'm home!" Quirin walks into the room.
"Son? Oh, I see Y/n's back." Quirin says.

I break the kiss and push Varian away from me. Varian makes a grumpy face and crosses his arms. He pouts like a little kid. Its so cute!

"Yeah, I'm back. Only for a week though." I say, getting off the floor.

"Aw, too bad. I was gonna buy the house nextdoor. Well, I wasn't planning on doing so till I saw you." Quirin says.

"Okay, where are you leading with this?" I smile.

"Oh! So, no 'hi!' or 'hello'? Ouch, that hurts." Quirin jokes.

"I missed you." I go up and hug him, "But where were you leading with this?"

"Because I saw you, I'll go see if I can buy that house. You can move into that house and we can see you again." Quirin offers.

"S-" I was gonna say 'sure' but Varian cut me off.

"She says yes!" Varian jumps up and yells.

"Hey, no yelling." I whack Varian's chest, "You'll wake Sophie up."

"We're moving!" Sophie yells as she runs down the steps.

I pick her up, "How many bedtime stories do I have to tell you till you go back to sleep?"

"4. Plus Daddy has to tell at least 1 other than the 4 that you're gonna tell me." Sophie declares.

"Okay, Sweetheart." I say as I set her back down, "Now go to bed. Mommy and Daddy will be right up." And with that she runs back upstairs.

"I have a granddaughter?" Quirin asks.

"Yep." I giggle.

"Sorry, for, uh, not being there." Varian looks away.

"Its my fault. I shouldn't have left." I peck his cheek.

"We'll look at the house tomorrow. Let's all get some sleep. Especially you Y/n. It looks like you haven't slept for a while." Quirin says.

"Meh. Only 2 nights, well, 2 days and 1 night." I shrug, "But I am really tired."

"Well," Varian picks me up bridal style, "Let's get you some sleep."

"After Sophie's bedtime stories." I correct.

"Is this what you have to deal with every night? Telling bedtime stories?" Varian asks.

"Well, some kids don't like their parents so they say no to bedtime stories. You should be considered lucky that she wants you to tell her a bedtime story." I poke his chest.

Varian rolls his eyes. I giggled as he carries me up to the guest room.

"Hey Sweetheart." I say as Varian sets me on the bed.

"Mommy." Sophie says.

"Yes?" I stroke her head.

"I don't ever think I've seen you this happy. You really love Daddy, don't you?" She asks.

"Oh, I love him. Almost as much as I love you!" I boop Sophie's nose making her giggle.

"You love me more than Daddy?" She asks.

"Absolutely." I smile.

"Hey! I'm right here!" Varian says, sitting on the foot of the bed.

"I love my daughter more than you and you don't have a say in it!" I hug Sophie close.

"Fair enough." Varian shrugs, "Now Sophie. Who do you want to tell a story first?"

"Hm... Mommy always has the best bedtime stories." Sophie thinks for a moment.

"Hey! Where else have you been! Every single night of your life I've been there. You've never slept at anyone else's house. Where have you heard anyone else's bedtime stories?!" I exclaim.

"No where. I just love the stories you tell. The girl and the boy. The girl always secretly liked the boy. Then they were such close friends that people accidentally called them boyfriend and girlfriend. But you told this really sad one that one time. The girl had to leave the boy because, well, you didn't get too deep into the details of that bedtime story, except from when you like spaced out yet still kept talking about it. You said the girl was really sad because she left, then she had a baby, then her life started to go down hill, but she always loved her little girl. Also there were happy stories! Like when the boy and the girl accidentally blew up their village. Twice! Or was it 3 times? Anyway, the stories were great! Where did you learn those stories, Mommy? Or did you make them up and they were the first thing that came to mind?" Sophie asks.

I smiled over at Varian, "Hm, well, they were the first stories that popped into my head."
Varian smiled.

I told Sophie her bedtime stories, so did Varian.
After that me and Varian went to his room and got ready for bed.

I took off my shirt, pants, and bra. Varian handed me one of his shirts to wear.
I slide it over my head and turned to Varian, now seeing that he's shirtless... with amazing abs.

"You're looking fine in my shirt." Varian smirks.

I laugh, "Since when have you become a flirt?" I ask, crawling under the covers of Varian's bed.

"Meh. After seeing you after a while, that just like, I don't know, came right out of me. That sounds kinda wrong. Let me rephrase that. Seeing you after so long, like seeing you in person, it made me get a small boost of confidence... Although that confidence is now gone." Varian explains.
He crawled under the covers next to me.

He turned to face me. He wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
I snuggled into his chest with a smile.

It was quiet till Varian spoke up.

"You tell Sophie stories from when we were kids?"

My eyes widen and I quickly roll over, still in Varian's arms, "Love you! Good night!"
