In the first movie we were introduced to the story of Marni Olsen, and when she realized that her brother, Will was about to marry Joanna, the girl who made her high school life a hell.

So she does everything to reveal the true character of the boy's fiancée, but the situation really explodes with the arrival of Ramona, Joana's aunt. who was Marni's mother's rival at school. When the two older women return to their teenage years, the result is much confusion in the marriage.

The story concludes with Will and Joanna's wedding along with her and Marni's truce, and at the end of the film Marni apparently begins a relationship with Charlie Mason, her old high school crush and Will's best friend, the same truce happens between Marni's mother, Gail, and Ramona...But this is another story...

In the film we are also introduced to Marni and Will's younger brother, Ben.

He is a cute and sarcastic little boy, he likes to make jokes and have fun with his family, he loves video games and spending time in the treehouse, the film doesn't show much about him and his life....but that's about to change.

In the same year that the film's story takes place, 2010, Ben was between 13 and 14 years old,and was in the last year of middle school preparing for high school, in Ridgefield high.

Ben did well at school, even though he wasn't the most dedicated student, he always liked sports and this helped his reputation among his friends and the popular kids at school, something he worried about a lot.

In addition to his friends Ben had a friendship with Charlie's little sister, and his class partner Stella Mason, a shy and clumsy little girl who apparently admired Ben, she was always present but didn't say much, Ben had difficulty dealing with the girl but deep down he didn't mind her, he even felt comfort with her company but he didn't like his friends seeing it and thinking it was something more.

After the school prom, Ben ended up moving away from Stella who moved to Canada for an exchange, the two have not seen each other since.
