Mabel's POV

"What took so long?" I ask the two that had just walked into the living room.

"We were just talking." Dipper replied, sitting down next to Candy and picking up a slice of pepperoni pizza. Soos nodded and sat down next to Melody, eagerly taking his own slice too. I look suspiciously at both of them.

"About what?" I question them both, narrowing my eyes at them in a suspicious way.

"S-stuff." Dipper stuttered, then continued to eat his slice.

"Yes but what stuff..?" I continue to pester.

"You know.... Guy stuff...?" He replies awkwardly.

"Okay, that's enough info," I raise my hands up in a stop gesture. "Anyway, I was thinking about what we should do tomorrow."

"Sorry, Mabel,' Candy said " I have work tomorrow."

"Yeah," Grenda agreed "I have work as well."

"Oh come on you guys! It's summer vacation! I can't believe you guys are working during a holiday!" I groan, turning to my brother "What about you, Dipper?"

"Damn, I'm sorry Mabel. I already made plans for tomorrow..."

"What?! Not you too!" I complain "What sort of plans do you even have?"

"Well, it isn't official yet but if it fails then I promise I'll hang out with you tomorrow."

"Sure..." I moan, feeling unsatisfied. After eating, we left for Gravity Falls again. Candy drove us while I just started unhappily out of the window. Why was everyone busy tomorrow? Summer was supposed he be spent with every day more fun filled than the last. But everyone's just busy with their own plans. It's like no one even has time for me anymore. At home, Dipper's usually always busy with his university and extra nerd stuff. Mom and Dad are almost always at work like they practically live there and I don't really have anyone else to hang around with when I'm not busy with my work either. I mean, I've tried making friends after coming back from Gravity Falls that summer but things weren't easy.

After that summer both of us where still in trauma, said absolutely nothing the entire first months of our return home and the worst thing was no one seemed to care about what we had been through. I mean, Mom and Dad tried their best but they just that that Grunkle Stan and Ford probably died of old age. They didn't know the truth; no one did. It wasn't until one night when I saw Dipper completely break down in tears, unable to even stand without shaking that I told myself to forget about the whole thing. If I wasn't strong for my brother, than who would be? After all, I was the only other person there (apart from Soos) that had seen it happen too. I figured if we dwelled too much in it then we'd never recover from the grief. So I had to act like I had forgotten about it even if I hadn't. After a while, Dipper started to get back to normal, too. But deep down we both knew that we still hadn't really recovered.

We arrived back in Candy's apartment. Dipper went straight to his room; Apparently, he had to make an urgent phone call or something. Whatever it was about, anyway. I'm guessing it's probably some call from his university.

I sat down on the sofa, stretching my arms out and yawning; I was tired. Making myself comfortable on the sofa, I switched on Candy's TV and started to watch. I heard a phone ring and I was guessing it was the land line. Candy answered it and began to talk to the person on the other end "Hello, this is Candy...yes....yes...yes, she's at my apartment...she's right here...should I hand the phone to her?...alright..." She walks towards me with the land phone in her hand "It's for you Mabel." She hands me the phone.

"Mabel speaking." I say into the phone and greet whoever was at the other end of the line.

"Mabel..." A familiar voice replied "I can't believe it's you. After so long..."

"Um...Gideon?!" I gasp, my eyes going wide.

"Yes." He assures "It's me, Mabel."

"Oh...Hi?...." I reply awkward. Back when we first came to Gravity Falls, Gideon was one of mine and Dipper's worst enemies. But afterwards, when the horrible demon Bill had taken over the town for a short period of time called 'Weirdmaggedon', he kind of helped save me from this weird time prison. Sure he saved me and all, and we're in good terms now but I have to admit, I'm still kind of weirded out by him.

"I heard that you were back in Gravity Falls and I just wanted to say my hellos and welcome backs." He tells me "And also...I wanted to see you again."

"M-me?..." I stammered, not liking where this was going.

"Yes, you Mabel. If you're free tomorrow, I'd like to meet up with you in a cafe shall we say?" He suggests then quickly adds "But it isn't a date or anything if that's what you're thinking! I just...wanted to catch up."

"Oh." I say, relieved that it wasn't a date.

"You are free tomorrow, aren't you?" He makes certain.

"Yeah, I am actually." I replied with a smile "Sure we could meet at a cafe and talk. I'm not busy tomorrow so it's fine. See you tomorrow, Gideon." I say before I hang up. Well, at least I'm doing something tomorrow rather than just doing nothing and being alone. I give the phone back to Candy and head into the bedroom to change into my pyjamas.

Dipper's POV

I go straight to my room to make the phonecall, hoping that Pacifica will actually pick up. It was near 8pm so I thought her shift would probably be over. I dial her numbers and wait.

"Hello?" I heard a girl's voice at the other end of the line.

"Um..." and suddenly I forget evrything I was supposed to tell her. I've always been horrible at talking to girls, but I've known Pacifica from long ago so why should I be so scared? "It's me...uh...Dipper?"

"Is there anything wrong?"

"N-no nothing's wrong! I just...I was wondering...If you were free tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?" She repeated, pairing a bit probably to check if she was "Sure! Well, after my shift anyway."

"That's fine!" I reply "I could pick you up and stuff. We could just talk, I guess..."

"Will Mabel be there?" She asked hopefully.

"Mabel?" I start to sweat both because it's extremely hot in my room now and because I'm suddenly concerned about why she would want Mabel to come on a date with us.

Then I remember that this wasn't exactly a date and that we were just gonna hang out as friends. And is gladly invite Mabel if it meant there wouldn't be any awkward pauses between our converstion.

I open my door and call to the living room where "Mabel, do you wanna come with me tomorrow?!"

"What? Tomorrow? I'm busy tomorrow!!" She calls back.

"Okay!" I yell , closing the door again "She says she's busy with something tomorrow so it'll just be us. Is...Is that alright?"

"Yeah. That's fine." She giggles.

"So should I meet you outside the mall after or shift? When does it end?"

"It ends at 2:30 so-"

"I' pick you up at 2:35." I quickly add. She agrees with me and I hang up city a grin slowly speading on my face; my first genuine smile since I got here.
