"So... why are we doing this again?" Shiho asked with a raised eyebrow

"Because I need to do some research" I replied fixing my hair

"Why are you so interested in it anyway? The incident was years ago" she said putting on her shoes.

"It's the only lead I have... I want to know the truth" she let out a sigh

"I understand, but if we get caught I'm gonna put all the blame on you" I hummed

"That's fine, let's just get this over with" we were standing in front of a large building that was a famous newspaper publisher.

"Are you sure we're get in??" Shiho asked slightly doubting my brilliant plan.

"Don't worry, I got this" I said taking the first step into the building.

"Excuse me miss!"

"Damn already caught" Shiho thought as she jerked

"I would have to see your press ID for you to further" the security guard said.

"Busted!!" Shiho was acting suspicious, the guard will noticed

"Pull yourself together baka!" I thought as I shoot her a glare and pulled out my ID card.

"Here you go" I showed him my card and he inspected it carefully

"Please work" I prayed

"Very well, you may continue" he said leaving us through.

"Thank you sir" I bowed and grabbed Shiho's wrist to drag her along before her nervousness would ruin our plan.

"We made it, now relax!" I whispered as we headed into the elevator.

"Now then... which floor is the archive?" I mumbled looking at the trillions of floors this building had.

"It's on floor 69" a male voice said from behind us.

"Thank you" I smiled and pressed the button for floor 69.

"Are you looking for something specific?" the male asked curious.

"Well sort of" I replied trying to keep the conversation short.

"What are you looking for?" he seemed pretty curious.

"Sorry but our research is classified, we are not able to share any information's" I said as I took out my CCG batch and showed it to him"

"Oh I see... a CCG investigator, are you investigating a ghoul case?" I nodded

"Yes, we are here to look up some information's" he apologized for his curiosity

"Forgive my curiosity, I wish you all the luck with your investigations and hope you gain some helpful information's" he said as the elevator stopped on floor 56.

"Thank you, we try our best sir" I gave a light smile as the doors closed.

"W-Where the hell did you get that batch??" Shiho asked curious.

"From a friend, he lent it to me" I said making her eyes only bigger.

"Is it that friend from whom you got those fake ID's too?" she asked

"Yup" her jaw dropped

"What kind of people are you associating with??? They sound dangerous, you should stay away from such people!" she scolded me

"Sorry I know, but without his help we could not have get this far, right now I don't care about those things I juts need to find out what's true" she silenced and looked at me with helpless eyes. The elevator reached floor 69 and we got off.

"Here we are.... Now then how do we get inside without a key?" I mumbled

"The door has a card reader, maybe you need to swipe your card through it?" Shiho suggested

"Yeah... but since ours are fake it probably won't work" I replied and looked around.

"Then should we ask someone else for their keycard?" I thought about it when 2 males walked past us.

"Uhmm... excuse me!" Shiho called after them with her innocent puppy eyes.

"Yes miss?" the guys stopped

"What is she doing??"

"We are trying to get inside the archive room but our keycards seem to be broken, could you please let us inside?" she batted her lashes making her request undeniable.

"We are from the CCG and need to do research on a case" she looked over to me and moved her eyes to signal me to show them my batch. I understood and played along taking out my batch and showing it to them.

"Of course we can let you inside you ladies" the guys agreed and stepped in front of the door.

"Here you go" they swiped their card through the reader and the door opened.

"Thank you very much for your help <3" Shiho winked her eyes as we headed inside the room.

"Damn that was close!" I let out a sigh

"I played it well didn't I?" she posed in a confident manner and wanted me to praise her.

"You did well, thank you for acquiring the keycard" I said making her self-confidence boost.

"It wasn't a big deal" she grinned and I looked at her mortified

"Now now... don't get over board" we looked at the large archive and suddenly my confidence from earlier vanished in thin air.

"Uhmmm... were exactly do we start looking again?" Shiho leaned closer as the huge piles of boxes stunned our eyes.

"Well... if only I knew that" her eyes popped out

"W-What?? You don't know?? Don't you have at least a date and a year??" shame washed over me as I had to shake my head

"Not exactly..." Shiho's face turned mad

"Then where the hell are we supposed to start looking?? This place is hugeeee!" I scratched my head nervously

"I think it was around 5 -7 years ago... according to his story since I am now (age (something between 19 and early 20 if you are younger / older just imagine yourself older / younger))" I replied

"Well that is something but what the hell are we looking for anyway??" she asked

"Keep your eyes open for anything with the title "ghoul attack in a school or abduction"" she sighs and agreed

"Fine... then we better get started".

Around 5 hours later and 523 newspapers:

"I think I got something!" Shiho shouted from somewhere in the huge pile

"Really??" I crawled my way towards her

"Here! It fits your description" she placed the newspaper in front of my nose with the title "Blood bath at Kamizaki highschool, 5 missing children" I ripped the newspaper out of her hands and opened the right page.

"There it is!"

"May 9th , Year 20XX, during a school festival a horrible blood bath took place after multiple ghouls invaded the building. Teachers and security guards were killed instantly, leaving the children age 13-16 unprotected. The CCG confirmed 65 death children bodies, 12 teachers and 15 security guards. The files also said that 5 children who were present during the festival were currently missing. The CCG is doing everything in their power to find those children as fast as possible. The current names of the mission children are as follow: Yahiya Takemiya, Hinamatsu Keiko, Tsukishima Ayato, Maruhara Nanae, and Asamiya Lenn" I placed the newspaper down looking disappointed because my name nor Mari's showed up.

"What's wrong?" Shiho asked

"It sounds right but my name isn't under the abducted victims nor is Mari's" she took the newspaper and looked for herself.

"That's true... but what if you have a different name now? I mean you have no memories from back then, it's only logical that you were given a new one... the same goes for Mari" her theory wasn't that erroneous.

"Y-Yeah... you're right, that would mean Mari and I weren't really sisters... since we were the only ones who got away we had only each other and there for we thought of each other as siblings..." Shiho looked at my face which was kind of shattered.

"That is really believable to be frank, now the only thing left to do is figure out which name listed here is your real name, then you could contact your parents and tell them you are alive" I rose from the floor

"That won't be necessary" Shiho's eyes widened

"W-What? Why?"

"I know someone who knows the truth and I am going to make him tell me everything" I packed the newspaper in my bag and we left the building with the information we gained.

"Oh you're back already?" I hummed and closed the door.

"Yeah"

"Did you find anything useful?" my hands fished the ID and the batch out of my pocket

"I did, thanks a lot for letting me borrow these Uta-san" I handed him the items

"Sure, since you insisted this much I could not say no, after all I want to help you since you were once my precious customer" I nodded

"Thank you, I really appreciate your help" after I've worked in his shop for a month I finally found the courage to ask him what he knew and to my surprise he answered me honestly and offered me his help. I was really grateful to him and asked him to keep quiet about it towards Yomo which he agreed to. Even though he did not tell me much he offered me some important hints that were helpful to find out the necessary information myself.

"What will you do now?" Uta asked curiously

"I'm heading over to Yomo-san's place... I want him to tell me the rest" Uta smiled

"That will be difficult, since he promised Mari not to spill anything to you" I opened the door to the shop and stepped out.

"I know that, but I won't give up until he speaks" I shut the door and headed to my next destination but before that I will pay my sister a visit.
