Chapter 12
"We hate to see you leave so soon, but we understand." Moonlark said.
"I hope you come back to visit soon," Stardancer agreed. "There are quite a few things we'd like to learn."
"We're going to miss you guys, too," Raiden said. "But we'll try to visit soon."
The two Spirit Wolves grinned like that was a great idea.
"We wish you luck on your journey." Moonlark said, dipping her head.
"Thank you," Mizuki whispered as they began to walk away.
Soon the Spirit Wolves were out of sight.
"Huh, guess we're back on the road." Akinori joked after an hour of walking.
Ryū grinned. "Yeah, one step closer to our destination."
Mizuki looked behind her, she already missed the Spirit Wolf camp, and she seriously planned to go back and see it again.
I wonder if I would say that if Shadewalker decided to become Alpha, instead of giving up that role for Daybreak.
Mizuki knew one thing now. It was time to get serious. It was nice, taking a break from all their worries, but that wouldn't keep up for long. Sooner or later, they'll have to fight.
Hopefully later. Mizuki thought. I'd hate to fight evil when we're so relaxed.
Oh, wait, that's like saying "what could possibly go wrong?".
Maybe Mizuki should stop thinking these things.
"So, Mizuki! You thrilled to be back on the road?" Raiden asked.
"Hm, kinda," Mizuki answered. "I wish we didn't have to leave them, however."
Raiden nodded. "Yeah, it was weird, meeting Moonlark," he said. "I know both her sarcastic side and her book loving side. And they are a pretty interesting bunch. But, if you ever want to go back there, I'll be happy to come with you."
Mizuki smiled at that.
